NMC Breakfast Feeding Program

November

Whhhhooooaaaahhhhh!!! Finally, I can shout this word after the successful event last Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Rotary Club place in Navotas. It was a very tiring but fulfilling day for me and the wholde Navotas Moto Club community. So many problems encountered on such a very short time, but in God’s grace, the Navotas Moto Club Breakfast Feeding Program was a successful one.
It was Thursday morning, October 19, 2006, and a typical day for us NMC members. I was at my desk, burning my time and my mind on the typical data warehousing project for a U.S. client. Typical programs were running on my laptop, Microsoft Outlook, Informatica, and of course, Yahoo Messenger (to balance my work and my social life… hehehe!!!). Since we will be having an activity on the 15th and the 22nd of the month, I came up with an idea to finish the month with an exclamation point. I want to finish the month with an activity that would boost NMC up and what was in my mind then was to have a charity work. We’ve had our official motorcade (to broadcast to the whole Navotas community that Navotas Moto Club do exists) and our official Marilaque ride (to bring newbies on the great curves of the place), why not have an activity that our less fortunate people in Navotas will benefit. By this activity, I am definitely confident to say that this month is a successful month for the NMC. So I ask my NMC brothers if we can have such activity for a short time. Guess what? All of them said yes… and I was pretty amazed and proud to have a bunch of brothers who are willing to give it all for our brothers and sisters who needs help. So the ideas were coming over, so many beautiful plans were being suggested but we’ve decided to leave that plan and discuss it on the next Thursday hang out since that night, we should be discussing about the official ride.
So it was Thursday, October 26, 2006, and our regular “tambay” day again. We’ve set that day to discuss the charity work on the coming Sunday. We’ve brought the topic from the Yahoo Messenger down to the Kids and Moms convenient store where we meet up regularly. After I’ve proposed the plan on the coming Sunday, I was amazed because all of them agreed on the activity. What amazed me most was some of them pledged to give some help like breads, plates, spoons, forks, and man power. That time, I said to myself “Let’s get it on!” hehehehehe…
And then came Sunday. I and my girlfriend woke up at 4:00 am and I was pretty sleepy because I attended sir Jep28’s birthday bash last night. I prepared my things and the stuff that I need to bring on the activity and by 5:30 am, we were off. When we arrived on the place, two of my NMC brothers were already there, eating their breakfast. While on the place, waiting for the event’s venue to open, I’ve felt some rain drops on the head. I was nervous by that time because the venue doesn’t have enough shelter to cover the number of people we were expecting, but then, I know God wouldn’t allow such rain to ruin our event so we continued to set the place for the event. Mineral water, tables, chairs, tent, food, ice and the people are now ready for the people and all we need to do is to wait for the people we were expecting to come. And then suddenly, a mother with her 8 children went inside the vicinity. I was happy to see my NMC brothers, immediately escorted the family to the table. The NMC wifeys group was the one in charge of the food distribution, and they did pretty well. Immediately, they delivered the food on the first family to come. After several minutes, Sir Genercarlo arrived with the plastics of bread. He handed the plastics to a NMC brother and went off to get the NMC banner, but such misfortune happened. A man, who was not aware of the truck and sir Genecarlo passing, crossed the street. Sir Genecarlo immediately applied his brakes but the road was wet, causing the tires to slip. He was thrown out to the road with some cuts and bruises but all in all, he was ok, thanks to the NMC people who helped him. After that accident, the number of families at the vicinity was growing and then the breakfast feeding program took place. It was 7:30 am, and as a part of the charity, we did a raffle to give some extra food and t-shirts.
I saw the smiles of the families by that time, giving us the sign that they loved the program. Children playing, families eating, NMC people giving gifts and everybody smiling were the pictures from the place that took me off from the reality and saw the wonderland. It was like a dream come true for me. We’ve felt so blessed to help these people out. And one phrase from a mom, really struck me “Thank you sa inyo ha, sana maulit”. These words came out from my neighbor who really is a less fortunate. It is the family I am thinking of to help someday because they only live on a house that I cannot see myself living with. They don’t even have doors on it. And last Sunday, I think my dream came true. These are the deeds that we, MCPeans, should look forward to do, to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters. We shouldn’t just ride our bikes, we also should ride with the reality that there are some people who needs our help.
I would like to say THANK YOU and KUDOS to my fellow Navotas Moto Club members. Kudos to Sir ldc_88 and wife, sir gallyjasmin and family, sir ark_malabon, sir genecarlo, sir oswald and family, sir roman, sir billy, sir reporter@xrm, sir skulyosi, sir jake1, sir genesis, sir darkbenz, sir bullet, sir back_to_back, sir reekee, and sir jep28.
Another thing, last Sunday is my birthday, I just want to share this amazing experience to all of you. I want my birthday to be different. I want to give something on my birthday than to receive. It’s a dream come true for me. Ride safe and God bless!!!
