Christian Bikers EB-Ride2

Chrisitian Bikers EB

It was a nice night to ride. It was expected to be traffic but thank God it wasn’t.. well, not much. God even sent us good weather and a fog at the end just to make it interesting.

It all started with a thread where some Christian bikers wanted to meet up for an EyeBall or EB. I guess you could say that since many bikers meet up because of common things they share like same bikes (most common), same area, same work time shifts and so on… some of us figured why not meet up cause we’re all Christians? No matter what bike, what age, what gender or disposition in life, God doesn’t choose who to call so why not us too?… So the thread got started and initially was set for a simple EB in Alabang just to chat but became a full pledged night ride to Tagaytay in the end.

The beginning was 2 groups – one taking the expressway straight to meet the 2nd group in Shell Sta. Rosa. From there, we headed to Tagaytay. I can honestly say the weather and climate was simply perfect. Not too cold but cool enough. No rain despite weather forecast of possible scattered showers. And no heavy traffic which was a plus. When we got to Tagaytay, we headed to Mile High for a snack. We talked and some of us talked about God and how to reach more bikers in the bike community and bring them closer to Him.

Being bikers, I gues we portray ourselves as tough guys and we are, I suppose. How many people do you actually know can withstand the FULL exposure to the kind of drastic weather changes we go through – hot then rain then hot then rain again? Or to the close calls we avoid being killed by dogs crossing the road? Or the killer potholes and stones our Philippine roads throw under us?… not many. Not many have the guts to live this way. That’s why WE are tough. That’s why we’re BIKERS. J Even so, many forget the ultimate tough guy – Jesus. He’s not a biker but He sure rode His life the way we ride our bikes – taking everything and loving every minute. I mean, this guy took on the biggest pothole of sin and he didn’t even ride cause he wanted to. He did it for us and got his wrists (or maybe palms) pierced by giant nails just to make sure we can end up on top instead of down below. How do you top that?! He saved our souls without knowing us. At least those who want to be saved. I for one, and some of those I rode with on this ride chose to be saved and are living our lives as saved souls. That makes all the difference. That makes life worth living.

After the chat, we headed off home but what a dark looming fog we headed into. It was great! How often can you ride almost blind in the Philippines? That was definitely a night ride to remember.

To all those who joined up – Hakz, Mike & Shiela J., Gary, Jake and Mickie, thanks for a great night ride. J Next EB is in the north. Where to now?

Glad to see the Lord guided you through the fog!

We bikers live a little more dangerously than those who chose to stay in cars. I guess that means we always have to be ready to meet our Maker. We will, sooner or later, moving or standing still.

    God bless!

  2. gangster says:
