Ride Report by Tat
For me, this ride is the closest thing to flying. I’ve never been in an airplane but I’m sure the exhilarating experience of this ride is better. I’m the pilot of a very powerful machine cruising across the clouds. Along with the BigBoys, I rode to Marilaque with almost zero visibility because the fog the covers the twisty road. I feel the chill inside my bones as I listen to the roar of the beast beneath me.
When I arrived at Shell Marcos Highway, Bashful (Super 4), Ching (Hornet 600), and Coach (05 Fireblade 1000RR) are already waiting. After a few more minutes the second group composed of Tess and Richard (ZX750) and their friend (Super 4), Modular Overrev (CBR600RR), Jumbing (BMW K1200RS) and his son (CB750), Redge (VFR800 Interceptor) and his friend Child (Super 4), DaBlade (XRM) with his HRCP friends arrived. Richard, Tess, Modular Overrev, and their other friend came from Nueva Ecija to join and have fun with us in this ride. This is also their first time in Marilaque. We meet with Berong (Super 4) along the way as we ride up the famous bikers playground.
Marilaque was somewhat demure that morning. She didn’t allow us to see her awesome overlooking view of mountain sceneries. She covered herself with clouds. Nevertheless, we totally enjoyed it. It was a different kind of experience. Imagine riding where you can only see half meter in front of you. We have to be very careful and do a slow pacing because you won’t even know if it’s time for you to turn already. Despite of it, we arrived at Sierra Madre safe and sound. After an hour and voila! The most fafable member of BigBoys arrived, Mr. Payon Hunter on his FZR600.
We stayed there for about 3 to 4 hours chatting, laughing, and eating except for DaBlade’s group. We rode back at around 12pm. The clouds are still there blocking our site on our way down and this time, it’s a little more challenging because it’s drizzling. The road is slippery and we have to be more cautious.
Everybody enjoyed this super cool ride. I’m also glad that our guest riders loved it.
Home at around 1pm and texted the Nueva Ecija group of Modular Overrev to take care and ride safely. They were home at around 4 or 5pm that day.
Truthfully, Marilaque never fails to satisfy our craving for a great motorcycling experience.
Pictures and stories here.
