Rosario, Batangas – Team Suzuki proved dominant fro the Underbone 150 Maxi Mod division behind BJ Mendoza who pulled a big sweep against 34 other riders Sunday in the kickoff of the 2006 Philippine Underbone King Championship Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit here.

Mendoza proved the efficiency of his 150 cc. Suzuki superstock underbone bike as he quickly pulled away from the start and left the rest of the pack midway in this event sanctioned by the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA) and sponsored Norkis Trading Co., Inc. and supported by Pilipinas Shell, San Mig Coffee, Casino Filipino, Yokohama, Denso, Arai and Shoei.

He wrapped up the eight-lap morning race in 15 minutes and 6.561 seconds or a far 20.416 seconds ahead of runner–up Jaime Barcial. Mark Anthony Chua took third place while John Lery Enriquez and Mark Barcial wound up fourth and fifth respectively.

Jaime Barcial gave him a tough challenge in the second race but Suzuki’s reliability prevailed going down to stretch as Mendoza checked in 15:03.283 seconds or 0.333 seconds ahead of Barcial.

Aaron Amani and Fil-Japanese Masato Fernando, on board their powerful Yamaha 110 four strokes, on the other hand, split honors in the 110-cc Superstock class of this event that drew the big support of manufacturer teams from Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Shinski.

Mendoza’s big triumph in the Underbone King Series came right after another big feat by defending champion Jolet Jao of Shell-Advance-Kawasaki who annexed his fourth straight sweep in the 2006 Shell Advance Superbikes Series- San Mig Coffee Road Racing Championship.

Jao was so commanding that he grabbed the lead from the pole sitting Benjo Mendoza of Speedeffex on the green signal and built a wide unmolested lead as early as the third lap.Next evetn in the BRC is on October 22, 2006 for the NASMSA sanctioned road races.
