The country’s best riders converge to give motocross fans a big treat in the coming Mayor Freddie Tinga Cup Motocross set January 28 at the newly-inaugurated Fast Track Motorsports Park in Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.

No less than Taguig City Mayor Freddie Tinga will initiate the opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. just before the exciting action of this event sponsored by Access plus, Brothers Burger, Caloocan Sales Center Inc., HJC Helmets, Honda Philipines, Imarflex Batteries, JBS Accessories, Oakley, OZ Racing, Norkis Yamaha, ITTI Shoes and YRS Racing.

The Mayor Freddie Tinga Cup signals the comeback of motocross in the Metro Manila scene since the last race staged in Marikina in 1996. Mayor Tinga played a big role in the construction of the Fast Track Motorsports Track to bring motocross closer to metro manila residents.

“This race is our tribute and gratitude to Mayor Tinga who envisioned that goal of bringing motocross back right at the heart of Metro Manila. The venue is very accessible and completely walled-in area furnished with a 5-star fully air conditioned clubhouse with suites and function hall owned and operated by Xtreme Worx Philipines,” said Ken Falco, president of the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association or NAMSSA.” This is one of the best off road facilities accredited by FIM in Asia within easy reach of the center of the city, surely going to make Taguig the capital of motorsports in Asia ” remarked , Macky Carapiet, President Asian Motocross Commission.

Among the stellar cast of the event are pro riders Glen Aguilar and Kenneth San Andres, junior champions Patrick and Jacob Orbe plus other national riders from Manila, La Union, Bicol, Quezon, Bulacan and Laguna.

They will be competing for titles in the juniors, enduro, underbone & Production categories. Exciting raffle prizes and medals shall be awarded to the winners.

Adding to the festive atmosphere of the event are display booths of Honda & Yamaha togehter with different food sales booths that spectators can visit and enjoy.

The event shall also serve as a takeoff event in preparation for the upcoming FIM Asian Puerto Princesa City Motocross Championship — the biggest annual motorsports event in the country featuring the champions from over 10 participating countries and telecast by Star TV and ESPN television production to over 500 million viewers worldwide.
