SM Megamall Bans Scooters in Parking Building
27
October
Just read in this forum that SM Megamall has come up with a rule that bans scooters from parking in both the Building A and Building B parking complexes.
They reason that because of the recent bomb threats scooters are not allowed inside the buildings. Like all bombers ride scoots.
I am not sure if other bikes are also not allowed since the source of the news rides a scooter.
If you do have news about this, please post it here.

it’s not just scooter, pati u-bone. I think lahat ng naka two-wheel di pwede. I experience it with my XRM, I was told by the guard that motorcycles are ban on the parking.

tsk tsk.. another stupid rule…
don’t they know that they can load bigger bombs on cars or trucks… why not ban them too?
and besides, if that is the problem… then they may do mandatory search on skuts or motorcycles, its easier to search them anyway, there’s not a lot of room to hide an explosive in a tiny vehicle…
oh well.. that’s life… another form of descrimination.

I posted this on the other site (10/27/06):
I was on my bike (BMW R1200GS) earlier this afternoon and was refused entry at the SM Megamall covered parking (near the ADB).
I was told that since there have been bomb scares, motorcycles are considered as terrorist threats to the mall and are only allowed to park at the open parking area.
Hmmmm……I was on a 2006 BMW motorcycle, with my 14 year old son in a La Salle Green Hills jacket and I was a terrorist threat? I have been riding 14,000kms for the past 7 months and have never been questioned nor even stopped at any PNP nor AFP checkpoints from Aparri to Sorsogon, and the Megamall security people think I’m a terrorist threat. I have an AFP gate sticker on the windscreen of my bike that allows me entry into Camp Aguinaldo and Camp Crame, and I’m a threat to megamall?
Oh, and as I was riding away, a delivery scooter passes me and goes in the said covered parking area.
Duh.
Or maybe, just maybe…they might have mistaken me for Sen. Gringo disguised as an overweight biker? Ok, I’ll take that as a compliment then.
Cheers!

We riders love our bikes so much to the extent of doting on them. Who would be stupid to blow his bike with a bomb? I dont think “beerboy” would.Anyway lets ride away from SM. A RIDE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY

reason: most bikers are reckless

alapnirakogag,
correction, most bikers are NOT reckless, but there are bad eggs that taint the image of the community

lifted na yung ban sa mega mall?
nakapag-isip na din siguro yung kinauukulan na mali ang ginawa nyang paraan para maiwasan ang terorismo.

Just let them realize how foolish they are loosing us in their mall. Lets just bike away and smile. . .

ACCIDENT DUE TO INSPECTION? SINO ANG MANANAGOT SA DAMAGED? SM MAGAMALL o MAY-ARI NG Sasakyan??? SINO DAPAT MAGBUKAS AT MAGSARA NG DOORS NG SASAKYAN?
Dec 7, 2006 aroubd 7:30 p.m. my nissan vanette was inspected by one of the officers at the parking entrance. the rear door of my van was openned slightly by the security guard. it was searched using a flashlight. Then with the door opened slightly, it was closed after inspection.
my driver was given the signal to enter. upon reaching the 3rd upper floor the rear door suddenly opened. the glass of the rear shattered. there was an ivestigation done at the CRO.
i made a follow-up letter. As of this writing there was response & no phone call from the SM Megamall CRO.

sang-ayon ako sa comment ni kasamang miromopa. inspecting our vehicle using a “FLASHLIGHT?”. i wonder if their FLASHLIGHTS have a sensor to detect bombs???
IF THEY’RE REALLY SERIOUS IN DETECTING BOMBS hidden in MOTORBIKES & CARS, THAY’VE TO USE SOPHISTICATED SENSORS, DETECTORS & BOMBS SNIFFING CANINE DOGS. SM MUST INVEST MONEY ON SECURITY DEVICES TO ENSURE THE SECURITY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.
For me, the way they do the inspection is just “a SHOW”.
