Props to 2StokeBuzz and ScooterScoop for the heads up.
Piaggio unveiled their 2007 line in a Pre-Salone della Moto event. No less than Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi along with other government dignitaries where there to review the next generation Piaggio Line.
What caught my eye was this 3-Wheeled monstrosity. At first glance I thought it was the Piaggio MP3, but upon reading the article further, I was surprised to learn that it was a Gilera, and boy what a Gilera it is. Based upon the MP3 this baby, named, the Gilera Fire, packs a whopping 500cc’s of power just waiting to be unleashed. Now when this will come to Philippine soil is up in the air but I’m sure the guys at 2211Works and EMC should be on top of things.

Also presented were two Vespa models, one the Vespa GTV which we’re all pretty familiar with by now and a new un-named model patterned after the Vespa 50 Special. Obviously based on the build of th LX-50, this continues a trend of Piaggio to create a “retro” feel to their, otherwise, modern looking fleet of Vespas.

hope our government officials are as supportive of the motorcycle riding community as their European counterparts…
