Scratch removal for Helmet Face Screens

Is there any substance or thing that can be used to remove scratches on my Helmet Face Screen/Shield.
Sight is obscured everytime a headlight is flashed in my face.

I've seen a friend of mine use light rubbing compound on his bike's windshield. Haven't tried it on my face shield tho.. I'm scared it might get worse. I have nasty scratches on mine too. Saving up to replace it. Mahal lang kasi e!

I use a very very fine rubbing compound or what they call scratch removers... similar to those they use in optical laboratories to buff plastic lenses and make it shiny and scratch free.
Some celfone outlets also sell some of these toothpaste like thing to remove scratches on celfone screens.
When using, make sure not to rub with too much pressure. It must be a light, and very patient process.
It works on my shields. Better than those disturbing stratches.

Thanks bros ... i've some watch repair shop use those, some watch rapir shop even used GLO metal polish on my swatch's lens and it shined like new.

Hmmmmm.... ok, i just made up my mind, i'll try the glo metal polish ..... i'll post any result after i'm done with it.

OK guys, I just finished "rubbing" my helmet's face shield, I may say it did work......on average .... for me.

The irregular any direction little scratches we're gone, the deep scratches we're minimized ................. but it developed some very fine scratches all over....... ok for me at daytime and no more annoying deep scratches.

The problem now is, because of the fine scratches all over it, it's now kinda worst using it at night, when headlights are flashed infront of you, the light seems to be distorted in a way that the light twinkles and there are lots of "rays" spreading out around the focused light.

That's my result. I'm not sure some might like it so WARNING. Rub it at your own risk.

How 'bout the rubbing compound you're telling?

Sorry anthony_bud. I asked a guru about using rubbing compound on plastic face sheilds. He advised not to use it because rubbing compounds have abrasives which cause minute scratches on plastic. Rubbing compound was designed for painted surfaces or at most glass for cleaning surface dirt or paint overspray. That's why, I'm saving up for a new shield para may spare rin ako...

Radical's right about that. Don't use rubbing compunds on face shields, unless you only use your helmet on daylight then there's no problem, but when using at night, the problem is obvious as I previously posted.

BUT!!!

Because of looking for desperate solutions.

I spray painted my face shield with a clear pylox paint, it indeed cleared the scratches, even the deep ones, shiny too.
I had five thin coats, 10 minute interval for every coat but not thick coats since it'll develop a "grade" in magnification.
After drying, I tried using it at night time, no light distortion occured.

But still, I don't advice this, just sharing what i did to it.

I wear an open face helmet so don't share your problems with the face shield but I have cleaned up my windscreens on my bike with wax, I use a spray on or paste should work and with a soft rag and a little elbow grease I have been very happy with the results, the plastic screen becomes much more clear and even at nite it still looks like new, try it, I love cheap and easy solutions

bro's it actually depends on the helmet brand, i had an ordinary helmet before and itried to use glo metal polish and yes it made it worse, but when i got a second hand ARAI helmet i tried using it and it was okay as in looked like new, when i tried it i took it (lens) off the helmet washed it and dried it with a new franella, placed it back on the helmet, then shake the glo metal polish can to mix it well apply on the lense and rub it in a circular motion with a dry new franella cloth, yes its a tideus process which took me two hours, let the glo dry out while rubbing from left to right circular motion, the wipe it with a new franella then rub it with McGuires scratchX mahal pero it will take off the minute scratches..
