    raider 150 tune up

    good day guys, it is said to be that the raider 150 is no need to be tune up...it is a self adjusting daw...it is true?? i owned a raider 150 it is almost 3k na ang mileage niya...di ko pa na tune up..please help..thanks and GODBLESS

    no it's not true that the Raider150/125 has self-adjusting valves, that is a lot of bullchit, refer to your manual about valve clearance & you'll find info about it.

    just take care of the bike don't rev it too hard regularly or you'll be seeing a mechanic very soon for a clearance adjustment, the usual cause of valves going out of spec is valve seat wear or valve stretch & both are caused by repeated high rpm running.

    i have adjusted the valve clearance on a lot of Raiders so whoever said it's self adjusting is lieing to you.

    I agree. regular maintenance ensures longer engine life.

    eh sir Modular, parang sayang naman po yung power ng Raider kung di pwedeng ibabad sa high rpm... AFAIK po short strokers (like Raiders and 2 strokers) need to rev high to attain maximum power through all the gears. isn't that how the raider was designed?

    Ganyan nga cnasabi ng mga suzuki technicians na self adjusting ang valves ng R150...Ano naman kaya purpose nila kaya cnasabi nila ang ganun? tinatamand lang ba sila mag adjust ng balbula ng magpapa service?

    yes it was "designed" for high revs but that doesn't mean you have to do it regularly, metal gets soft when it's glowing red hot & the valves take a beating so you can only imagine how much abuse the valves take under high rpm running.

    bingo! you hit the nail right on the head.

    pirmis lang kasi ang salary ng dealer mechanics kahit na marami o konti ang ginagawa nila kaya mas gusto nila konti lang yung trabaho nila.

    Ganun ba sir modular....langya yang mga mechanics na yan ha....tagal din nila akong napaniwala na floating ang valves ng r150....kakainins...

    Another good inputs from sir francis iba talaga ang magaling

    ang nabasa ko lang about R150 na self adjusting ay yung tensioner ba

    yun at yung mga valve clearance ng motor mano-mano talaga... masyado ng

    hitech siguro kung self adjusting ang valve ng motor.... meron kaya nun

    halos 90% ng motorcycles & scooters ngayon self adjusting ang timing-chain kasama na jan ang raider 150, pero kalimitan sa raider nag stock-up ang chain lifter dahil sa residue ng langis kaya minsan kumakalansing ang makina lalona sa menor. dapat linilinis minsan yung chain lifter,kelangan lang marunong talaga ung gagawa dahil pag di marunong bka magka windang-windang ang motor mo as in tumatalun ang timing chain sa timing gear pag inalis ang chain lifter na di naka TDC.
    ang valve clearance naman, di dapat ina adjust kung di naman kelangan para maiwasan ang oil leak saka workmanship error kasi ang mikaniko tao din minsan nagkakamali.. no offense sa mga mikaniko dito ha! opinion ko lang po he he!!!

    yung mga self-adjusting eh karaniwan yung mga automotive engines, ang example ng mga ito yung Toyota 5K & 7K engines kasi may mga hydraulic cam followers yun kaya walang adjusting screws ang rocker arms nun, ang Mitsubishi 4G63 DOHC 16V naman eh rocker arm type sya pero self-adjusting din dahil hydraulic naman yung pivot point ng rocker-arms nun, yung oil ang nag take-up ng slack or clearance kaya set & forget ang mga yun.

    sa motorcycles wala pa ako nakikita na self-adjusting talaga, kaya naman gawin yun sa technology ngayon pero malaki ang profit nila sa servicing pag manually adjusted pa din angvalve clearance.

    thank you so much guys for the advice and for the info..nyway, i am from bacolod city negros occidental..and mahirap dito kasi kukunti lang ang may raider at ang suzuki service center dito di pa ako makakasiguro if the mechanic is well trained to tune raider bikes...but anyway i will look for another mechanic na maasahan ko talag when it comes to my bike, it is difficult for me to find one we all know when it comes sa engine medyo masilan yan..so we have to make it sure that the mechanic is well verse..

    Kaya pala yung ibang dealer mechanics pag time consuming na ang work ayaw kalikutin yung iba dun lang sila sa madali.

    Di nga naglilinis ng carb mga mechanic sa suzuki phils eh.....Ewan ko lang ngayon kung merong medyo masipag na....Kaya ako na lang nag-aayos ng motots ko at nag tu tune up....Yung sa tensioner lang di ko mapakialaman kc medyo sensitive eh....

    prang yung mekaniko ng suzuki dito manloloko!!!!yung friend ng patune-up ng shogun pro wala kasi mekaniko namin eh..ang ginawa lang ng mekaniko ng dealer ay inadjust lang ang idle ng carb tpos sabi ko iadjust ang valve clearance..aba ang sabi ba sa akin self adjusting daw yun...ano yun R150?gagawin pa akong tanga...hinitay ko na lang dumating ang aming mekaniko para maadjust...kaya wala akong tiwala sa mekaniko ng mga dealership eh...

    mga sir pag nag pa tune up ba ko
    kailangan galawin yung mga valve
    kase 3k na din natatakbo ng R150 ko
    puro change oil at tono lang..

    sir modular in short,ano dpat gawin ng mga raider owners,just go to your trusted mechanics??guys sino ba sa inyo may mga kilalang certified mechanics na pede mag tune and adjust ng mc ko,raider poh

    nagtu-tune up po sa pj bonza. pahawak nyo kay bernie or kay bong. kahit po honda service center ang nakasulat sa kanila, yung mga bike na pinangka-karera nila ay mga suzuki.

    Wala akong alam at proven na magaling na mechanic ng Raider 150 dito sa laguna eh especially kung may modz kang ipapagawa... Ayaw ko ring magtiwala sa mga mechanic ng casa na kinuhanan ko, sa halip na tumino motor mo lalo pang lalala...
