Does the system really work? Or am I just being robbed of P2.50 (or whatever amount) everytime I text them?
Pardon my contempt, but after my ordeal of retrieving my license at the Pasig LTO a couple weeks ago, I'm beginning to lose faith in the system.
There's no place like 127.0.0.1
same here, i'm also wondering if this will be beneficial to the complainants or we'll just be making phone network companies richer.Originally Posted by oj88
given the reputation of LTO, who knows if they would take actions on our complaints. even if you file complaints personally, they seems to be irritated to entertain you much more if you'll just text them. probably the message you sent just goes to the deleted items or recycle bin.
also, i think kasabwat din nila mga companies ng public transport na iyan. bakit ko nasabi? bakit wala tayong nabalitaan na naparusahan na driver? instead lalo pa nga dumadami mga gag_ng drivers na yan. :W
me nakakwentuhan kasi ako dati na isang driver ng isang bus co. and according to him pag me reklamo s kanila inaareglo lang ng co. ayos na. pera-pera lang ba. kaya nga yang mga gag_ng drivers na yan namimihasa. kaya nga mga walang pakialam sa kalye yang mga yan kasi katwiran nila me magbabayad naman ng kasalanan nila.
just my opinion, i hope i'm wrong.![]()

I second OJ88 - the question that needs to be asked is - after all the text messages, then what?
Just stand at any corner where there are jeeps and MMDA personnel - even with a huge sign that says NO LOADING/UNLOADING, the jeeps will continue to do so while the MMDA folk look the other way (or rather, looking for more lucrative color coding violators). Take santolan - you will find many MMDA 'enforcers' at the intersection of EDSA and several huge signs saying counterflowing will be fined PhP2000 - and count how many jeeps (and private vehicles) violate that!!! And viola, many of those cars that do turn into Crame!!!! Likewise with the NO LEFT turn sign along EDSA/Santolan.
Ay....

You're pardoned, my friend. Going through the same thing myself for a trumped-up offence. Words like lazy, obfuscating, rude, inefficient or just plain bloody ignorant come to mind.Originally Posted by oj88

it seems that there's alot of hesitation to use the system...which also got me into thinking...remember the bantay usok by abs-cbn, wherein you text the plate number of the smoke belching vehicle?...i think it died a natural death...haven't heard from it since then.

I'm afraid texting the LTO is an effort that will result in futility. I'm even willing to bet that the LTO gets a 'cut' on the info text message sent by complainants. I'm almost certain that the LTO will get the information, but acting on the complaint is another story.
In fairness, a deputy of Usec Anelli Lontok of the LTO replied to my complaint regarding erring PNCC officers who 'stole' my license a few months back. Replying and acknowledging that they received my complaint is one thing, but acting on it is another. To this day, there were no significant actions regarding my complaint despite writing several replies. My letters must be piled up in someone's desk eating up dust. What a waste!![]()
