there is a new cruiser from Motorstar product name "IQ 155".
it is equivalent to the Zongshen Pursuit 125cc cruiser but except for the engine displacement (which is 155).
if anybody here owns this kind of bike, kindly share your comments and feedback on this one..because I am planning to get one maybe sooner or later..
thanks,

Thanks.

God is good all the time.
ok tinanong ko ang mekaniko ng motorstar if ok ang motor na to
ito sabi nya
pangit daw
pangit ang tunog ng muffler
pangit ang engine
pati manager ganun rin sinabi
maporma lang talaga
sayang![]()
Wait and see mode.

I don't have a good eye at cruiser bikes, pero agaw-pansin to sa dealership everytime I pass by.
Bat kaya ganun?

Bought one yesterday from Motorstar here in Bacolod. Cost is Php61,000 for cash. But I availed of the 12months installment. 8K ang down, 6K ang monthly for 12 months.
Stock muffler does sounds different from the usual sounds of other bikes like the XRM, Fury, etc. Which can be easily be remedied by installing a different muffler. I'm planning to get one that sounds appropriate for a cruiser.
Can't say for the speed as I'm still in the break in period and still sticking to the 50km/h and below speed. Although I never dare to go over 80kp/h when riding a motorcycle, so no chance on testing out the actual max speed.
Aside from the key and the free registration, the deal comes with a helmet, a Motorstar jacket (an embroidery of Pacman and Pacman's Choice at the back), a liter of gasoline, a pouch of tools, a crash/engine guard (as shown at http://motorcyclephilippines.com/for....php?p=5588345 ) , a user's manual.
Actually the user's manual for Pursuit 125 so the specifications contained is for Pursuit 125. But the looks of the IQ155 is very much similar to the 125 version except for the rear guard/passenger footrest. I'll try to get some pictures this weekend and post it here.
For the engine, I can't say about it as I'm not a mechanic but I can fairly say it's decent enough to carry me, my wife and my 11 year old kid from our local Gaisano City basement parking lot on 2nd gear. I can say it's steep enough.
It's a clutch operated 5-gear gearshift. 1 down, 2-3-4-5 up. I was used to XRM's all down with no clutch by after 5 minutes of riding I've gotten used to the gear shifting on the IQ155.
Needless to say, it just about suit my dream bike. Everybody dreams of owning a Harley, so I settled for a cruiser that suits my budget and my size. I'm a 43-year old, 5'3" guy, on a 160lbs body. So this is very much perfect for me.
I'll try to get back on a more detailed review during this weekend.

my neighbor has this kind of bike..its a good looking bike but as my neighbor uses it for about 2 months or so he istarts complaining about its push start because it is not working in a cold start..i could see the mags by the looks of it, it is not reliable for me..but it is a good looking bike after all for the standard height of us FILIPINOS.

I haven't got the time for the pictures as yet but here are other details I've learned:
Motorstar IQ155Z is also known as Cyclone Pursuit 155, looks similar to Zongshen Pursuit 125 ( [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcnpFthntRc[/ame] ) and Brazil's Kasinski Mirage 150 ( [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWGu1mjAYbo[/ame] ) except for the front panels but the specs are similar. See the video as running at 150km/h ( [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG3uJTKeaBo[/ame] ).
As part of their Cyclone series, the Zongshen Pursuit design seems to have been influenced by Harley Davidson, as Zongshen Motor is in partnership with Harley Davidson and Piaggio (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zongshen )
Went last weekend from Bacolod City to La Carlota City and encountered a highway under repair. Naka backride si misis while running on a 300 meter putikan with matching lubak lubak. Swabe sa lubak lubak and balance is great. The shock absorber is a Showa brand.
Also, malakas ang engine. As previously mentioned, naka backride si misis and our 11 year old son, paakyat from Gaisano City basement. It's a steep access road of about 50 to 75 meters running on 2nd gear. The carburetor is a Keihin on a Piaggio-Zongshen engine with engine model as ZS162FMJ. Haven't tried the maximum speed as yet as I'm still on the break in period. Besides, I personally I don't go over 75km/h so no chance for the maximum speed test. And another thing, in the previous post that mentioned a mekaniko commenting the engine is pangit. AFAIK, the engine is a Zongshen-Piaggio engine. And the Cyclone series carrying the engine is now worldwide in sale in Europe, North and South America and Asia since 3 years ago. If pangit, why is it still in circulation then?
And the fuel consumption pala within city is 40 to 45 km/liter. But sa highway it's around 60km/liter. And as for the handling it's just normal for the cruiser type bike na low center of gravity katulad ng scooters, unless nasanay ka sa underdones and sportsbike na mataas ang center of gravity. And you have no fear na baka matumba in case of sudden total stops na may nakaangkas since the driver seat is so low that you can actually put your feet flat on the road while still sitting on the cruiser. And the passenger seat is longer enough na comfortable kahit dalawa ang nakaangkas. And I like the way I sit na relax na relax ang legs while riding.

Also to know about the manufacturer of Motorstar IQ155Z, watch these videos:

Zongshen Motors are also in partnership with Honda and the Vespa scooters that I saw in Robinson's Bacolod motorshow are also products of Zongshen.

@acedragoni
what are the accesories that we can possibly get from motorstar?
is there a windshield accesory for this bike? or
side bags?
thanks,
Unfortunately here in Bacolod, Motorstar has no accessories on sale like windshields, or the rear passenger carrier/saddle bag bar, nor the saddle bags. Maybe sa Manila meron. I'm gonna ask the Motorstar next time I go there for the payment.
So what I'm thinking sa saddle bags is to have it made from a local leather shop here that makes leather bags, shoes, belts, etc. I hope it's not very expensive and less than 4K, coz if is I'm going to have to order from Ebay. At least there's one from Hongkong ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motor...ts_Accessories )
Sa windshield naman, mahirap hanapin dito sa Bacolod as mostly in stock accessories are for sportsbikes, underbones and scooters. Wala for cruisers. Although meron dito is a generic rear trunk for big scooters na detachable and made of hard plastic not of leather nga lang. So I bought one and installed it.

Hi there, I produced the YouTube Slideshow on the Zongsgen Pursuit in 2008, and had done a lot of research into Zongshen and their new range of 'Cyclone' motorcycles. I considered these to be a 'New Generation of Chinese Motorcycles'.
Why do I say that?
Because Zongshen (a bit like Kia/Hyundai Cars in Korea) knew it needed better materials , design and Quality Control to win Export Market share, and could compete on price.
Some will tell you that Chinese steel is no good or the plastics are 'brittle' and crack easily. They probably did not research in Zongshen having bought into an Iron ore Company and Smelting Plant, to get the raw materials and production capabilities to get the grade of steel required to build quality motorcycles that can compete in the Western World. Same with Plastics - they have their own Zongshen company producing the plastic parts needed, so they don't have to rely on some 3rd party that they don't have Quality Control over.
It is good to see Motostar finally decided to import the Zongshen Cyclone 'Fly' and also the 'Pursuit' and that these are 155cc engine versions.
I also think the Price is excellent value for money - lower price than being sold in Thailand, and well below the prices in Europe and USA.
If you are pleased with your IQ155 'Persuit' and really want to give it a nice long ride, that will have run it in nicely,
how about entering it for the IRONAZZ Cebu on October 31st.

@Britster
Wow that would be a great way to test the performance of the IQ155Z or any motorcycle for that matter. And also the way to test the endurance of the rider and at the same time enjoy the scenery of Cebu in general. Unfortunately, it's a way too far from Negros and lots of work to do. I guess I'll be content for the weekend riding in Negros for now.
@jbinueza
I've ordered the saddle bags I mentioned from EBay. I'm expecting it to arrive on the 2nd week of November. I'll post the picture once i got it and installed. I could have also ordered a windshield but I'm more into the Harley Davidson Dyna-look version without the windshield.

I've forgotten about this post. Better late than never I guess.
Here're the pictures I promised.
This was the day after I bought the bike.
This is now how the bike looks like after adding the saddle bags I bought from eBay. The rear trunk I got locally and so is the crash bar. I also replaced the footrest with a floorboard. The floorboard was for the Motorstar Predator so I have to make some make-do's and replaced the stock footrest with it.
