Bump. Nobody knows any brands of wheel hubs?
Good morning folks.
I have started planning the Christmas gift to my best friend in Cebu. He rides Honda wave 125 and i think its time to get proper wheels on it.
I want red wheel hubs (red/black bike), black spokes and Zipp rims. So the question is what brands of wheel hubs are good and durable. So i can order the good stuff in the bike shop and get them to build the wheels.![]()

Patience, Sir. It's 6 in the morning.
If you're looking for durable ones, I recommend the genuine ones Honda stores sell themselves (good luck with the price, though).
Oh and if you're still open to suggestions as to what gift would be perfect for him, just say so.

Oh I didn't notice 'til I posted the one above that this thread's been up for four days now.

So then i must start arguing with the honda stores then. Oh well that might be a challenge. Thankfully i am stupid enough to take on the challenge. The bike needs cool wheels.
Sure i can always hear other ideas for nice gifts too![]()

Okay..
Now, is your friend this kind of person who likes to pimp his ride? (if not, better give him a blonde.. *LOL*)
Do you know what kind of big bike he likes (motard, sportbike, etc.)?
Well in general what'll look better on a Wave125 is "Mags" instead of rims.
Unless he wants his bike to look like a motard then wide rims + tires should do.
Does it really have to be a surprise gift?
Also, you might want to change the thread title to draw more fellows to check it out.

He really don't like mag wheels. Have tried to buy him those for a while and just have to face it i will never succeed getting him happy with them. (so i end up buying a 125 with mag wheels for myself in the future so i can have what i like). He loves zipp rims so i wanna build good wheels with those rims.
Yes must be a surprise the look on his face when i hand him those wheels will be worth every pesos i pay for it. He will get more or less a major shock.
Pimping of bike is very his style. And he is very much into motocross so in the future i will buy him a motorcross bike.
Damn. You sound like a dad trying to please his son.
Anyway, in that case, a'ight let's stick to wheels; so he likes the Zipp rims, then I guess there isn't too much to think of. Zipp rims, stainless spokes, that genuine hub and you're all set.

hehe you might be right. He is so much younger than me so i could almost be his dad.
To me its more how i take care of and invest in my friends futures who are less fortunate in life than me, who comes from Norway.
I rather prefer to give nice gifts than to receive. I simply love motorbikes in all shapes and sizes so to buy a motor cross bike for him is a way of my own investment too because i will be riding on the back of the bike and lets face it the wave is a bit small compared to my big legs so a bigger bike is a good idea for me.
And he is not my only Philippine brother that will get nice gift but the other one is way easier to fix he just wants a louder exhaust system for his bike.
But yeah the advice of yours with the zipp wheels, spokes and hubs will be duly noted and made into reality so thank you very much for your advice or as some would say Salamat dong.![]()
Haha. I could hear you saying: "Salamat dong" the "American" way.
How it's going from here gives me an idea you'd like to attentively stare at the guy's face while handing the tires over; the transition of a flat face instantly to a bigger-eyeballed face matched with loosening of ears plus raising of eyebrows with a huge jawdrop should please you a lot! Haha.
Alright. Good luck, then.
You might want to keep us updated so, maybe, we could ride with you during your stay here in Cebu.
Cheers!
