Sad truth... Walang magaling na rider sa b*b*ng driver... Wala ring magaling na driver sa b*b*ng rider...

Accidents happen... Lets just all be glad they all got away with their lives... Ego lang nila ang damaged and their vehicles...

This sort of thing happens so easily.

Yesterday, I was driving up the hill towards Valencia from Dumaguete in my wife's Terrano.

School was out and the road was busy, with kids crossing, trikes buzzing around and mcs wizzing up and down and so I was driving slowly.

Suddenly the trike that I was following up the hill, already full to the brim, anchored up in front of me, hoping to pick up another bunch of kids.

I braked and instinctively pulled towards the centre of the road to avoid it (more concerned about the kids on board than the trike, to be honest).

A brand new moped, with a pony-tailed young expat on board (no safety gear of course), skimmed past my offside mirror. We were lucky not to have collided with each other.

    Had I seen him? No.
Had I looked before changing direction? No.
Was he signalling to go past me? No.
Should he have been overtaking me in the circumstances? No.
Would it have helped if he had signalled and had his lights on in the daylight? Yes, as the signal light and headlight would have made him more visible in my mirrors, prior to the incident.

Had we had an accident, it would have been difficult to apportion blame but I am not trying to get off the hook, either.

From the looks of it, the UB was coming in FAST on the RIGHT lane. The passing lane is on the left or innermost lane. So, unless the Fortuner came from the middle or inner lane, the cage has the right of way. But until we can get first hand info, we're just speculating.
according po sa witness, the mc was on the outer lane in fast speed. while the cage is in the second fr outer lane. the cage immediately made a turn in front of the toyota entrance and kaboom..

This comes back to the mc rule that we have to drive for everyone else on the road, especially when riding fast.

I lost a friend in France, a few years ago when he got wiped out by a car which decided to do a U turn straight into his path.

Clearly, the driver of the car shouldn't have done it but the fact that my pal was doing supersonic speed, according to the gendarmerie investigation, didn't help as even if the driver had seen him, the speed of approach was probably not apparent.

Sad but true that we are generally "invisible" to car drivers and I doubt it will ever change.

    Ride carefully, everyone.

depende kung ano dala mo that time, like me pag cage dala ko mad ako sa rider, ksi singit ng singit pag ako ang rider galit nman ako sa mga cage na biglang mag left or ryt turn..sa mga tumatawid galit sila sa rider ksi bigla nlng susulpot sa harapan nila..kadalasan rider ang mali sa accident hindi ang cage dahil hindi nila tayo nakikita basta basta

opinion taken, but there's no need to be mad at anyone on the road. If you know where to place your self on the road and how to drive/ride responsible then things shouldn't go wrong.

i don' think so, kung talagang marunong ang titingin sa angle ng damages both ng suv at mc, it's pretty sure yung suv ang may kasalanan, to have such damages on the suv's doors, clearly halos humalang sya sa kalsada and quite obvious papaano ka hahalang sa kalsada ng ganun kung hindi masyadong abrupt ang pagpapalit mo ng lane, clearly swerving po yun. and malamang the suv was trying to overtake a vehicle in front of him using the right lane, di ba bawal din yun?pero alam naman natin ang batas dito, kung sino ang me pera sila ang tama, baka mapadulasan yung imbestigador e lagot na, kawawa naman yung rider if he has to shoulder the suv's damages, plus his wrecked mc....tsk, tsk, sana lang wag mabaligtad, kumusta na kaya yung rider hope he's ok.if he's a member here sana magpost sya rito para malaman natin kung ano nangyari at mabigyan ng advice kung sakali nga na mabaligtad ang pangyayari.
    ride safe mga bro.
