'where're you in LA?

Just moved to Palmdale last September from hollywood but I'm still working here in chatsworth and rides with my buddies there in LA (Angeles Crest and Malibu Canyons). We sometimes hang out in Johnny Rockets in Melrose ave. and Hooters in pasadena ;)

I live in Valencia, CA. I left my bike in the Philippines though, I don't have a ride here yet:(

Well, I'm saving up for a bike & try to get one this December!

that great. let me know when you get one so that we can ride all together. two of my buddies are pilipino and one vietnamese but born and raised in PI. BTW, one of my buddy's GF live there in valencia (stevenson ranch)

I'm 5 minutes away from stevenson ranch.

I'll let you know as soon as I get one. December is my target month but if all goes well, it might even be sooner!

My last ride was last October 2001 (too long, bro). It was from Sacramento to San Francisco & back on an R1:D I sure miss the feeling!

Haven't been out to LA Crest for a while, been busy.
...same here, me and my buddies usually rides up there at the crest, sometimes at the Rock Store on the weekends.
Although I'm on my bike every day to work, it's different when you're with friends.

I know, but my bank account might not be ready this summer :(

I'm riding a VStar 650 and yeah, that sounds good, I haven't ridden a weekend ride for quite some time.
Schedule allowing, we can meet up with friends and hang out.
You know, Starbucks on colorado is also a bike hangout, just right after Hooters.

yeah I know that starbucks but better view in hooters and few pitcher of beer ;) can't get a pitcher of coffee in SB;)

If you ever get a chance to cruise by the Azusa/Covina area, Bert's Motorcycle carries Ducatis, CBRs and R1s as well.

looks like an L cause it's 90 degrees but I guess they still consider it a V. Whatever, they call it, still one of the best bikes around brother!:D

okay, cool. That's where I got my bike as well but I take it to Pasadena Yamaha instead.
I found Berts' to be pricey whern it comes te service.

really they r pricey? didn't know that. thanks! never had them service mine though. I do my own regular oil change. for major service, I have these guys do it www.cycledepot.net they r located @eaglerock. they have cheap parts also. You might want to check them out on your next service.

Yeah, i've heard of cycle depot.
Thats about the only thing I do on my bike is changing the oil, any major maintenance , I take it to pasadena.

I think I came in grade3(1983) then kicked out 2yrHS(1992) maybe.

not much of monster garage. I love watching American Choppers though, the Teutuls are so good at what they do and that father & son team is so hilarious - they argue about the smallest things! very entertaining show

I commute on my bike to and from work each day, so it all good.

i have a couple of friends who has both though, cruisers and crotch rockets.
The R1s would probably be my second choice... or the ducatis

I go to LA quite often; where can I rent a sportbike in LA? I stay in the Irvine area in south orange county, close to the Irvine Spectrum. What's the best way to get from OC to downtown LA without having to go through the 5 or the 405? The traffic on those can drive a man insane!

unfortunately bro, thats the only freeway I know that will take you to LA faster. Unless you go on the back side and go around using the 57 north to 210, that gets pretty busy with traffic as well.

sportbike none that I know of but street bike there's one in torrance that rents haryleys.

I'm not sure where you could rent a sportbike. You can take the 10 east to the 57 south (or west). The 57 turns into the 5 south and the 22. It depends on where you're going to.

hey, anyone going up to the Laughlin river run? I was in Vegas last year at this time and I saw a ton of guys on bikes on their way to Laughlin.
Although I'd imagine security would be totally intense this year because of that shooting incident at the Harrah's last year.

Yes, rode there back in the dayz. maybe '85. (Ninja 900) black/red. If you go further down the coast you will hit Malibu and Zuma Beach, thats where you can find the really Blonde Blondes.
You guys don't surf do you? hehehe. I used to live in the Valley and the Rock was about 35 mins ride from Canoga Park.

I stayed in canoga park from 1994 til 1997 ... our house in saticoy gave me a lot of silly memories. went back to manila and never went back.:D

got locked up for something I didn't do. I was in the join for nearly 3 month b4 everything got cleared up. damn .. when I was released I lost everything... my job ... all my money sucked up by lawyers .. I had to go home to the PI just to be able to start over again. :{
