I've been riding for no more than 6 months pa lang.

I paid a hefty price for my vanity. I now have the weirdest tan of my life! My arms are dark, but my hands are light. Plus I have an outline on my shoulders from wearing sleeveless all time.

It's dumb I know, and I have no one but myself to blame. :o

You see, Im a very vain guy. I wear body fit shirts (without sleves whenever possible). I dont like wearing jackets cos they make me look fat. Plus I only wear long sleves if its rainning or if its really hot. But I tolerate the environment whenever conditions are not that extreme.

Ok, I learned the hard way that this was a bad Idea. But I still don't want to wear a jacket when riding.

Can anyone suggest what kind of gear I should go for?

let me rephrase that, Given safety needs, what kind of porma do you think works best for you as a rider?

sir try mo ang MESH JACKET @ motoworld. mas nakakaitim pa nga ang mainit na hangin kaysa sa direct sunlight eh. kung "masikip" ang budget, you can try wearing those sock/stocking-like cloth. 'yun bang nabibili sa mga sidewalk vendors. they may look cheap but it can surely save your skins. ganun ginagawa ko everytime i ride. then nagsusuot pa ako ng jacket/wind breaker & elbow pads(under the jacket, of course). mainit nga pero it works!

ser di talaga natin maiiwasan mangitim dahil sa climate natin d2 sa pinas..me too when i was still riding a jeep papasok sa skull e amputi-puti ko pa,,pero nung nagkaruon nako ng mc dun nako nagsimulang umitim,,kaya niloloko tuloy ako ng mga friends ko..
kung naiinitan ka sa jacket..pwd mo isubstitute ung mga jacket na cotton ung pagkakagawa para di masyado mainit

mag JACKET ka at tiisin mo na lang yun init.. kasama yan sa pag momotor... RAIN or SHINE... talagang exposed tayo!

a jacjet will do...its a safe protection against direct exposure to UV rays comes from the sun...also the melanin content of your skin can be damage also..im also vain like you.. also apply sun block with SPF 30..it will help a lot..and also to ur face, the nivea for men with sunscreen protector plus whitening...hehehe and in the evening a mud pack to tighten the pores and repair the tissues in ur face...its rejuvenating..

(joke!) about sa topic nung una ganun din ako ayoko mag jacket lalo na kapag tanghaling tapat, pero no choice kesa naman ma masunog at mangitim ka. About sunblock, IMO parang hindi adviceable lalo na dito sa atin, didikit sa balat mo lahat alikabok ksama na maitim na usok from smoke belchers. :D

Helmet, Balaclava ,Arm Sleeve, Elbow guard, Backpro, Knee Guard. That would be enough.

well first things first wag mo isipin yung pangingitim ng balat mo isipin mo na lang pag naaksidente ka and tocino balat mo. one reason kung bat ka nag jacket is para malessen ng konti yung gasgas in case ma aksidente ka sira ang porma mo pag may tocino ka.

i would strongly suggest that you use an armored mesh jacket...it like hitting two birds with one stone...di sya maiinit and it offers protection in case you should take a spill....

I've been driving a cage since I graduated high school and i'm not used to the scorching heat of the sun. I always wear a jacket when I ride my MC but I still got darker and darker as I ride my MC. Ingat na ingat nga ako eh. Whenever possible, I always try to stop in the shade if evern stop ang traffic light. If I see that the traffic light is read ahead, I'll stop way before the traffic light just to get some shade. However, nangingitim parin ako.

ngaun, I use the Nivea whitening sunblock. Yung color white at saka parang orange ang takip. And the, Nivea night whitening lotion when I go to bed (still checking if it's effective). And when I ride my MC, I was my face with a facial wash just to make sure dust won't stick on my face.

i still ride my UB. tinatawanan ako ng mga kasama ko pero wala ako paki.

pareho tau sir... yoko magjacket; pero things might happen you will never know when you'll need your gears;

good quality helmet; knee guards (nasa loob ng pants); armor nasa loob ng jersey/t-shirt/jacket(any)...

pag naka jersey di halatang naka gears ka.. hehe di naman awkward
mas masarap magride pag feeling safe...

pag malapit lang helmet, gloves, knee guard lang..
