Looks like rain is here to stay. So I decided to get proper rain gear. I've researched on various riding gears that is both water resistant / water proof and comfortable at the same time.
Prior to my decision to "upgrade" my riding gear, just a background on my experience on my previous jacket... Komine JK-407. This jacket is almost perfect (just as all jackets... trade offs), mesh type and highly breathable. One problem though if it suddenly rains while your riding, you'd have to take off the jacket, unmount the outer rainproof liner, wear the jacket again, and wear the water proof jacket over the mesh jacket... by then you're drenched already... not to mention the waterproof jacket is not breathable.
Now the fun part. RS Taichi's RSJ202 and RSY237... Drymaster-X materials. Perfect ride and go jacket... no worries on sudden down pour, water just glides thru the jacket like eggs on teflon coated frying pan. An it's breathable, wind doesn't pass thru (which is bad during summer riding, but good on cool rainy season) but lets your body heat excape the fabric layers. When you get home, just wipe off the excess water and it's dry. Super nice jacket and I love it.
Don't expect a sporty designs... these are touring jackets. Abit more expensive than convensional mesh jackets (14,800 on the Jacket and 8,000 on the pants... the jackets are on sale for 8000 at Motoworld Greenhills). CE approved shoulder and elbow pads, spine heat guard, reflex reflectors, scholler (anti scuff) materials on shoulder knees, and elbows.
I really love this gear set... any takers on my Komine? Hahahaha! :D
