sir ang gdr e may china not sure sa quality but spyder was created by solaris which is a well known company in state. as far as I know in state they don't sell not a dot certified helmet.. kaya kung ako lang mag spyder nalang ako kaysa sa gdr if I have a budget bakit mura ung spyder for a dot certified helmet di po mura yan mahal na po yan actually zeus have a 2500 petot worth of full face helmet try to ask motoworld.

sir mike di ba 2 models lang ng spyder ang modular? what did you choose?I chose the cheaper one yung enduro, i got it from speedcity cainta. 1950 ko nakuha, they said sila daw ang authorized dealer ng spyder sa area nila, yes, bago lang ang spyder kaya siguro wala pang mamemeke nito, that's why yun pinili ko, affordable na , dot pa.I'm sure original ang mga helmets natin.

yup. resin ang pagkakaiba.. shell can be the same. kung budget restrictions lang naman ang habol mo, why dont you try the zeus 803 series.. the flat colors only costs 2k. :D

the spyder enduro is the one similar to gdr and jds and many other brands.
i suggest you take your time to compare the two, maganda nyan may mahiraman ka nung isa lets say gdr tapos dalhin mo doon sa may spyder at pag kumpara mo.

helmets are composed of the the hard shell, famous materials are ab plastic or fiberglass. its meant to shatter upon hard impact, prevent punctures and be the first to absorb the blow. underneath ung parang styrofaom but is hard, thats what protects your head really, there have been arguments if it shouold be solid hard or should have some amount of cushion, kase nga naman pag sobrang hard para ka na ring bumanga sa sahig, kaya ung mga bagon agv may rib ung foam para may collapsable part. the final part is the inner lining, basically para naman di ung foam ung nakadikit sa pisngi at ulo mo, its more aesthetic.

when buying a helmet and budget is a concern, try to study the more expensive helmets like hjc or arai and see what helemt that fits your budget somehow comes close to the quality of those expensive one, also you can familiarize yourself with the foam quality try to move aside the cloth and touch the foam itself and see how hard or soft it is.

finally double d ring is always the best :)

sir paperbikeBURN, i had bought a spyder enduro recently, i think spyder helmets today can be genuine pa, lalo pa at binili mo sa mga authorized dealers, why, kasi bago pa lang sila sa market, malamang wala pang namemeke nito,sa gdr hindi tayo sigurado pero if you're going to buy them from reliable sources siguro orig din mabibili mo, imho, these helmets (spyder enduro and gdr)don't have any differences overall, kasi para bang merong common manufacturer sila na nakukuhanan sa shell and then sila na lang ang nagpa-final design sa kulay.parang bote ng mineral water, halos iisa ang gumagawa pero iba-iba ang brand ng tubig di ba?now sa quality naman, siguro sa lens na lang magkakatalo, although i haven't actually tried a gdr helmet, masasabi ko na maganda ang lens ng spyder kasi sa gabi kahit mapatingin ako ng diretso sa headlight mga kasalubong ko na mga sasakyan, di ko nae-experience yung partial blinding effect, paglagpas ng sasakyan nakikita ko agad ang kalsada kahit madilim, clear lens pa ang nakakabit sa helmet ko. yung lens nya parang ini-scatter nya ang light na tatama para hindi makasilaw ng todo sa gumagamit, i'm not sure kung nae-experience din ng ibang spyder users ang mga observation ko, but one fact kasi spyder is known for their eyewear products di ba? maybe their lens could be better from other brands :)

Double D ring supposedly is more secure than snap on locks. Lahat ng mga hi-end helmets na ginagamit sa karera double d ring ang gamit.

For everyday purposes, the snap on works just fine. In fact, its more convenient than double d ring systems.

sa tingin ko malabo na maglabas ng japeyk ang spyder, kasi na release na sya sa market. unlike GDR, hindi tayo sigurado kung orig o japeyk ang lumabas dito kasi hindi pinakilala em madami ng branded helmet ang lumabas, isa na ang ZEUS pero wala pa akong nakikitang japeyk.

so far ang nakikita ko pa lang parang japeyk is yung mga Class A na Index.

here is my spyder enduro..

i got it dec 2006. at solaris sm southmall.
i use on friday and saturday only.

and here is my own observation, i mean.. its is also maybe lean on my own opinion, i mean no harm to other who own and and planned to buy the same stuff... i repeat. i dont mean to do so.

now..
1. lens was not that clear as i expected base on the the spyder sunglass ( i own a spyder mercenary street shades) noticable scatered rays of light at night driving. especialy when the light comes from rear tru your side mirror. you vision will be distorted.
2. padding was so loose after i got a good fitting when i aqquired it.
3. loose face inclination. i have to thighten the screw every time i use. for me to be able to prevent face shield fall every time i was shaked verticaly.
4. but. shell was a real good scratch resistant. you cant notice scartches if you will not look it closely in a bright light.




i can even show it to anyone who want to test.

But for everyday use Thumbs up nman ako sa Enduro ko and twice nadin nitong nasagip ang ulo ko sa spill.

ya.. truly corect.. a good quality shell.. i even fall this helm bounces on the stair from 2nf floor to grnd flr when we wer on arlington memorial chapel makati(maybee some of guys know the place). i tot is was broken then. after. we tested it on "uv-carbon presure membrane" ( a some kinda leack detector equipment commonly use in fglass and flouricentfilament to detect crack) we only found a minor scarched. hence. the design wasnt able to compele all your satisfaction. still shell was the primary consern when purchasing same stuff conserning safety agains impact.

How much po for the spyder enduro? It looks so much like the GDR helmets.
