I'm an ARAI and INDEX user but i recently saw PENGUIN and EQUIP brand helmets sold here in Iloilo and they are DOT certified daw. The craftmanship and fit seems pretty good. I'd like to know if there are users of PENGUIN and EQUIP who can give info on performance, safety, and reliability. I couldn't find those brands on the web kasi.

Please let me know if the above brands are good for a 3rd helmet, or i'll consider getting a Zeus 803 or a KBC Force RR instead.

thank you.

AFAIK, penguin helmets been around for quite sometime now, though the shell design is always based and copied from other leading helmet brands. As you've mentioned you're considering two other helmets, in my opinion, you better et one of the two...but then again, if you have to choose between the Z803 and the KBC Force RR...the KBC will definitely be my choice.

i happened to see a penguin helmet in caloocan when i went to deka. ang sabi nung salesperson, penguin ang pumalit sa fulmer na brand dito sa atin. i just don't know the validity of that since may fulmer pa sa internet and i couldn't find a website for penguin. anyway, preference lang siugro on the brand/safety/comfort/price. i think they all are in the same price range naman. good luck sa pagpili bro.

Sir Danny, where are you planning to buy your force rr? I'm also from Iloilo and i'm also planning to buy one.

NSCB - Thank you for your input. KBC is a good brand , my only worry is the weight of the helmet - it's the heaviest compared to all the brands i mentioned above. what i like about it though is the reinforced chin protector, sleek design, and good safety reviews. May trade-off talaga pag pumipili ng brand. deciding factor na rin siguro for me is the comfort and color (dapat black -hehe), and availability ng size(safety is a given). In terms of price halos magkalapit lang naman kasi.

Vinchinito - Thank you for your inputs. It will really help me in my buying decision. i haven't encountered fulmer brands here in iloilo yet. i surfed the web and noticed that fulmer full face types are all snell and dot certified. Ang daming choices sa fulmer website. the penguin helmet that's available here is the modular type na all black, but they say may darating pa daw na full face na pang race and street. Di ko lang natanong kung saan gawa. My question is - what's my guarantee that Penguin and Fulmer are one and the same lang? Fulmer has good reviews din kasi.

Pepe1275 - taga iloilo ka man gali? taga jaro ko lapit Toyota. I've fitted a KBC Force RR at Emcor pero XL ang size. I'm M or L lang kasi. There are stocks available at New Buantong pero red and yellow only. I'm looking for black/grey combi, at kung may all-black. Kung wala talagang available here in iloilo, maybe i'll try it in manila or in HK next month. May HJC man, pero red color, sana black din.

What makes it difficult to buy helmets here in iloilo is availability of size.

Sa mga taga manila, what's a good helmet and apparel store, yung mejo complete? BIG THANKS!

sir danny, there are a lot of motorcycle apparel shops around but the more popular ones that you can check out sa mga threads are MOTOWORLD- zeus & shark helmets and OZ RACING- they have stocks of KBC. I also know of another shop in PASAY road Makati where they also sell KBC helmets (sa Petron station), i just forgot the name. All have good apparel also but personally, MOTOWORLD has a lot of reasonable but good quality motorcycle apparel (RS taichi & Komine). TRIUMPH JT din pala- HJC helmets. Of course, if your in the habit of shopping around, the best place would still be in Caloocan. HTH

So, we're just neighbors - i'm from MV hechanova- entrance lapit sa carwash . Kitanay ta sa ride sa June24 a -- i passed by buantong yesterday to buy bigger sprockets for my bike. I noticed they have an all black kbc na medium size. I was in a hurry so i wasn't able to fit it or even check out the model. There's an available HJC - price range nasa 5k to 6k. I'll be in Manila ang HK on July. Will check there first before i finally decide.

For all you guys who helped. big thanks - will visit the stores you recommended.

Sir Danny:
Yung inner pads po nung helmet kong Penguin eh hindi natatanggal so nilalaban ko sya, as in laba talaga.
Dating snug fit po ito sa akin pero after 10 years of wear and tear eh lumuwag na sya coz yung mga foam nya sa loob ay medyo nagloose na at numipis na. pero pwede pa ring gamitin.
After 10 years of service nya sa akin binigay ko sa kapatid ko for his backride.
Long ride AGV GP1
Yun lang po and Ride safe.
Haba no? hehehehehe
