I just want to ask if this is possible or if meron na available sa market.. Helmet lense that will turn to tinted if exposed to sunlight and turns to clear during night time. Kasi I saw this poster ad from an eye clinic, a certain brand of eyeglasses that have the feature that I was asking here.

Diba mas maganda kung meron nga ganung lense para we can always use the same lense day time o night time man.

Kung super mahal, i'd go for clear lens and i'll bring myself a good looking shades.:D

Pero kung affodable para sa masa, maganda yan pang long long long rides.:D

BUT you can buy a progrip visor insert light sensitive lens...its like a secondary lens na ididikit mo sa helmet lens mo...

pag gabi..clear sya...pag araw...dumudilim

easy to install and cost mga P1,600 [kung available sa pinas]

i had attached one on my AGV GP1...

pa singit lang ha... yun sa eyeglasses i believe are those called photo-chromic lenses. maybe they are called graymatic now. used to be called photo-sun. meron photo-brown and meron photo-grey. they change color when illuminated by the sun. i wear those kind of eyeglasses when i am not using contact lenses. but they only come in glasses before and not plastics. do they have it in plastic now? medyo delikado yata kung glass ang visor ng helmet di ba?

just my thoughts...

the thing is..progrip sells this visor insert....

i dont see any alternative unless:

-you want to change your clear lens to a tinted one
-wear sunglasses [oakley m frame which i use for my arai tour x ]

cant understand why we still have to look for other options...though meron ng quick fix being sold sa market:rolleyes:

yun nga lang kung walang progrip visor insert sa pinas..thats the problem.

Hehehe ... siguro isang helmet lens nasa 9K na kung ganon.:D
Tapos iisang klase lang para sa isang brand ng helmet ang meron nyan at hindi unversal.:D

Depending on the brand, some manufacturers offer a "Light' Smoke & a "Dark" Smoke.

I currently have a "Light" Smoke lens on all of my helmets & theyre awesome even at night to wear. Never had to switch for evening rides. During the day, does offer in minimizing the brightness of the suns rays...

Ray Ban sells photochromic lenses and sunglasses - and once exposed to sunlight actually darken in shade, less light causes the lense to brighten up a bit...

They also sell ambermatic lenses - these lense darken outdoors under the sun and turn lighter and sharper in contrast images (yellow / brown / gold) in overcast days...mostly used during snow/winter time...

As for helmet visors - no idea yet if there are such lenses in the market...try browsing the web and helmet suppliers.:)

how about having your helmet visor tinted using yung automotive glass tints like 3M "magic" sold sa banaue? Dark on the outside, clear from the inside even sa gabi. Try mo yung medyo light color, since maliit lang yung i cocover na area baka mas mura. Just to give you an idea, yung buong oto nasa P3k ata.

wont work....

plastic lens is not as "solid" as glass...plastic tends to be "porous" and far from the quallity build of glass..[kahit gamitan mo ng blower]...tsaka masyadong curve ang lens...very difficult if not impossible to install a tint film

we had this discussion when me and a friend of mine installed the 3M tinting film on our customers Audi.[sideline namin magkabit ng tint dito, mahal kasi ang labor ng puti dito:D]
