Just finished my lattest project, a speaker headset with volume control installed on my old index 911 model helmet. I used my old Ipod to play, sound is ok, but a bit weak. Considering this is just my crash course installing the device. It took me 2 days to finish it. The price of the headset was cheap (so the sound quality and volume suffers as well), since this is just a sort of experiment. Im thinking of installing a more expensive stereo headset, and i am running out of helmet and fund. If anybody would like to finance me with the project, say perhaps would like to install one or two of these on their helmet, please inform me. At this time, im not charging anything at this time, but the materials will be provided by you. Im just accepting it to hone my skills at making this stuff. I would like to venture on making more of these and perhaps when im good at it already, take orders from riders that would like their helmet to be equipped with one of these devices. My next plan would be installing something like a bluetooth stereo headset that can play music directly from cellphone and at the same time enable users to talk using their phone.

I am only offering this to C2R right now, when im confident that it would meet market standards, Ill offer this to other riders. I hope you guys can help me.

Thanks..

Ill attach here a picture of the helmet, interior design and generally the layout of the design. I hope to hear feedbacks!

It may not be safe for riders to listen to music while riding.

thanks for the feedback. yes it may pose some danger while riding because you cant hear your sourroundings. that is why i also installed a volume control that will enable you to adjust to the proper volume when riding safe.

and if you notice, the cable is directly connected to the speakers. Theres a protruding cable. This is not what I had planned. While I was looking for some gadgets, i was not able to get one of those female mini connectors that would enable you to just plug in the cable directly to your mp3 device. For the meantime, I settled on the materials available. But the provisions and plans was to setup a mini audio connector.

Am i seeing it right, that there was a hole that was drilled:eek:

OMG, i hope I am wrong coz that will compromise the integrity of the helmet!

No holes was drilled. The helmet has a small opening big enuf for the cable to slip in. It is protected by a 2mm of rubber. so even while you are driving while its raining, rain water will have hard time getting in to the helmet. I made sure that the integrity of the helmet will not be compromized. The 2 pcs stereo speakers where attached inside the matress and foam. I scrape a few of the styro to make way for the entire case of the stereo speaker. This will make the speaker fit well into the side of the helmet. With special glue, I fixed the speaker and cover it with a thick cotton cloth and a slim foam that I knitted inside. So when you wear it, as if the speakers are not there.
