I just talked to Jovie Saulog of Shell. Kinumusta ko yung race last Feb.15. Hinde pala nag participate ang Shell-Yamaha Racing Team. Nandun daw ang Caltex-Revtex Racing Team. According to Jovie, he wasn't suppose to participate in that said event. But Shell called him and asked him to race at the La Union motorsports event.

Majority of the past race events, parang nag-IIWASAN ang dalawang MX Teams na eto. Pag malalaman ng Shell na pupunta ang Caltex, hinde na sila sasali. Pag malalaman naman ng Caltex na pupunta ang Shell Yamaha or si Jovie, hinde na pupunta ang ang Caltex team. WHAT'S HAPPENING to the motocross community???

Anyway, while Jovie was on his way to la Union, someone texted him and said "Akala ko ba hinde ka pupunta?". Jovie replied, "Bakit naman hinde?". The guy obviousely pissed-off replied "O sige ha! Walang IYAKAN ha" "Wag ka IIYAk ha". Jovie said, "Bakit naman ako IIYAK?" The guy didn't bother to reply back.

On race day, Jovie said Bebet dela Cruz of the Caltex Team made Jovie realize that is was HIM to made those Threatening Text messages. In the 1st heat of the PRO125, Bebet was following Jovie. Jovie went outside the rail the berm. Bebet who was on the Inside of the corner,went directly to Jovie. The two collided and went down. Jovie quickly got up and eventually finished 2nd. But before that controversial collission, Bebet according to Jovie was BRAKE CHECKING him.

In the 1st heat of the Pro Open, Jovie rode faster than Bebet. He was far ahead of Bebet to avoid any FOUL MOVES from mr. dela cruz.

In the 2nd heat of the Pro Open, Jovie position himself to the farthest left side of the starting gate. All the Caltex team where on the right side. Upon the start, Jovie went straight to the 1st turn but to the outside. Jovie said Bebet who was in a good position to take the inside to grab the holeshot went outside instead to intentionally hit Jovie and take hom out. Jovie saw it coming and hit on the brakes. He raised both his hands in UTTER DISGUST with bebet's FOUL TACTICS. He decided not to race. The La Union crowd witnessed the UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT of Bebet dela Cruz. According to Jovie, the crowd were displeased with what the Caltex Revtex rider did to Jovie. Bobby Orbe, the race organizer consulted withe the Namssa officials with what to do with the incident. They decided to DISQUALIFY mr. dela cruz.

Bakit kaya kailangan magkaroon ng mga ganyang insidente? Ano ba ang nangyayari sa kanila? Imbis na umasenso mga riders natin, eh ganito mga pinaggagawa.

Yan Jovie-Bebet WAR goes a long way back. Yun pa yung nagkaroon ng Mobil-Honda Team. Si Bebet ang naging Top rider ng Mobil-Honda while Jovie went to Suzuki.

Baka ipalabas ngayon sa Speed hosted by Mike Potenciano yung race sa La Union sa channel 5 at 11pm.

Paging Mr. Safety man Macky Carapiet. Sana ay maayos mo etong nagiging problema ng ating DWINDLING MOTOCROSS RIDERS of the Philiipines. Kokonte na nga lang mga riders natin, nagtitirahan pa. Ako mismo, nawalan na ako ng gana sumali sa mga MX races para makaiwas nalang ako sa mga hinde magagandang mga nangyayari sa mga karera. Marami pang POLITIKA. Napansin ko na nagiging PALAKASAN sa organizer ang taktika. Ayoko na. Tama na. I just sold my mx RACEBIKE and I have no plans of racing MX again in the near future. Siguro, pag meron nalang magandang series. Siguro, kung may magaling na MX race organizer, dun ako babalik.

hello, sir skygo..you know there's some truth in what you said but dun sa jovie-bebet stuff di ko alam history nun pro nadinig ko what happened (my son, jerick mitra, raced that event,nasa states pa ako e..) saka bago lang ako dyan sa atin.and one more thing ang alam ko pag nandun yun shell-yamaha team pupunta pa rin caltex kahit san yun race just like what happened in tuguegarao and vigan last november but may issue yata na pag namssa ang organizer hindi pupunta shell-yamaha...ewan ko talaga,dami politics.basta i'll keep on riding for myself not for anything else..sana ma meet kita soon.ingat.

Sky, Mayroon bang race sa Cebu sa July? Uuwi ako and will be there for the whole month. Maybe kita tayo para bench racing until I can bring another MX bike to Cebu so I can ride every time I go home. I know there is one this comming weekend and the following weekend but I would like to know one in July.

Glad to hear thatI am from Mindanao but married one from Cebu. I raced in 1989 with the Shell Team, I think Pepo and Jonas was with us. We might have met before. I started racing in Manila then Riyadh and moved to the US in 92. See you soon.

whats your real name? I'm Bobby Mencias. I was with Shell Team as a guest rider. Inampon ako ni Jovie sa mga provincial races. In 1990, formally pasok sa Shell team. 91 ay retire muna para work.
