INVEST AND WEAR SAFETY GEARS!

I was involved in an accident yesterday. I collided with a tricycle
(I wont go into details of the accident, that is besides the point of this thread).
Upon impact, I flew out of my UB, landed a few meters away and slid in the pavement for another few meters.
This was my 2nd accident. And I was saved by safety gears for the 2nd time.

My Full faced helmet hit the ground first (I hate to think that it was my head hitting the pavement), followed by my body, good thing I was wearing an MC riding jacket, it got torn but not to the point that it penetrated my skin (looking at the torn jacket, I hate to think it was my skin), My gloves sustained scratches (good thing I was wearing gloves, if not, I'll be having tocinos in my hands), my knee and shin guards also sustained scratches (hate to think what would have happened to my knees if not for the knee guards).

So please, please, please..

INVEST AND WEAR SAFETY GEARS!!!

If not for yourselves, then do it for you're loved ones and for the sake of the Motorcycle community.

Atleast your safe and well. that's why we should always wear our protection gears coz of this kinds of accidents.
DO you have any physical damage on your body? Like scratch or sa mga bones or joints?
Hope not.
Ride safe always....

When I go out and ride my usual 30 to 50km leisure ride (which I do 3 times a week) there are times when I really feel like not wearing my gears other than my Helmet and gloves. Nakakatamad. So many gears to put on. Putting them all on is laborious and time consuming. But whenever I think of what can happen out there and I think of my family, I stop and just wear my gears anyway. I have never been in an accident before but the saying goes "There are only two kinds of bikers, those that have been in an accident and those that are yet to figure in one." I wish those gears will never be tested.

To Slow poke - Glad to know you're alright. Buti nalang gamit mo palagi gears mo. I hope you didn't break any bones. That would take time to heal and might get you sidelined from riding for a while.

No broken bones, nor scratches, but a sprained right ankle.
Unfortunately, I was wearing low cut canvass shoes that time. (have to invest on shoes that will offer the right amount of protection).
My bike? well, full headlight assembly wrecked (including all the covers), shattered right leg shield, and a bent foot peg.
The bike we can repair, our limbs, well thats another issue.
Spirit for riding? Will know ones I get back on the saddle.

Stay safe everyone.

i hope this is not OT.,

just this morning i happened to be on the tail of this honda wave rider when he crashed (fishtailed due to an emergency maneuver to avoid an obstacle).
he suffered a bruised right leg and a sprained left ankle., basically he's wearing an ordinary jacket, a "good" (not those generics) helmet, pants, gloves (not knuckled) and a leather (low cut and pang-formal) shoes.
since malapit lang bahay namin., i offered him a hand and apply first aid on his bruises,.. after that, he then turned to my gears and asked how much those gears costs :) . he's fine now., and he told me that he will buy one of those when he got back to manila :D

yup. di lang naman tayo ang gumagamit ng kalsada.. better be prepared for everything, than not to prepare at all. buhay ito, hindi kung ano lang.
