go for DOT certified helmet and leather gloves, kung byahe na medyo malayo, gamit ka ng armored jacket (mesh para hindi mainit), and also elbow and knee/shin guards...:D

kung 2 km langang byahe mo.. i would suggest na helmet at gloves lang... pag more than 5 na kelangan na ng longsleeves or jacket na armored

according to studies, most accidents happen during those short trips around your home....so i would suggest wag mong tipirin ang safety gears mo...

if you don't feel like using "full-battle" gears, at least you should have the ff:
1. D.O.T. certified helmet
2. Jacket that would protect your skin (should you have a spill, not only from the sunlight)
3. Denim pants - to protect your legs
4. Closed shoes
5. Full-fingered gloves with thick materials on the palm side.

but it wouldn't hurt if you could at least add elbow & shin protectors to your get-up...

A good helmet to protect your lovely face, a nice pair of leather glove to secure those lovely hands and a trusty pair of shoes to save to sexy feet.

If you paln to go on long ride you should invest in a pretty mesh jacket too, not to mention knee pads.

ride safe mga sir, mas maganda kng full gear ka, elbow and knee/shin guards, quality helmets, spinal protector, kaysa malaman mo na huli na ang lahat. hndi natin masasabi ang accident, lalo na ngyn sir, maraming naaksidente sa motr.. hndi masama mag wear ng full body protectors, katawan mo yan sir, hndi nila katawan, panget pag my galos ka at wala lang gear. . . ride safe po..

1 or 2 kilometers does not mean you should be wearing lesser protective gears. once you get out of your garage, that's it, you are subjecting yourself with the same raod obstacles, conditions and hazards similar to almst every road situation. so don't wear less even just with in 500meters of riding. if you wanna wear lesser protection, better walk or commute.

btw, im using my helmet always... hindi mo ako makikitang hindi nakahelmet pag sakay ako sa tormots ko.. means helmet is the first thing to wear... then isa rin yung gloves... then isa rin yung closed shoes, then isa rin yung pants... before im riding the bike even im wearing shorts pero ngayon hindi na kasi mahirap magpagaling ng galos hehehe... so everytime nakapantalon na ngayon... kahit sa tindahan lang sa kanto pants and helmet parin ako, pero pede parin naman ang tsinelas hehehehe.... kung long rides let say mariveles to balanga, siyempre full battle gears tayo(helmet+gloves+pants+longsleeve+knee&elbow guards) wla pa ksi tyong armor eh...

Most important gear is the helmet. then jacket and gloves comes 2nd. and lastly, yun knee/shin guards, pants and shoes.

ohhh thanks u so much sa inyo dudes!! dami ko talaga na tututunan... well ung jaket ko na leather nasusuot ko na kailangan ko pa bili ng helmet ung orig. na para pangmatagalan...and ung globes parang na excite naman ako masyado naimagine ko ung gear pag suot ko cia lahat heheh parang madaming mag sesecond look heheh dapat open ung front ng helmet para naman kita kahit kilay ko sayang beuty eh hehehe PEACE!!

Sa simula, 2 kms lang. Sa susunod - aba maganda pala sa lugar na yon. Teka, malapit lang pala mga additional 5kms. Sa susunod abay nasa gapo ka na pala. hehehe.

lahat po importante - helmet, jacket (baka masunog ang balat sa tindi ng init), gloves (sayang ang pintura sa kuko at whitening lotion), at dapat meron karin salamin. Para cool lalo... Mahirap kaya na nakapikit ka dahil maalikabok at pag mabilis kana....
