View Full Version : China gears in Italy - WHAT ?!?!
TriFlector April 15th, 2007, 09:53 AM When I learned that my sis is coming home from Italy I had her buy me a riding gear - told her about my size and color preference but not the brand. Knowing my sis she would buy us anything original from the fancy shops in Italy. Normally, she'd give us authentic Ferrari, D&G, Armani, CK, Diesel and whatever merchadise that is IN. It is easier for her to buy branded apparels or accessories but not riding gears like helmet and gloves.
So she arrived with a story that she had to hand carry this bulky box of helmet from Italy. I was at work when I asked her over the phone " wow, baka D&G ang design nyan or Benetton. Ingat na ingat. " She answered back, mayrong "D at G". So I thought for a moment what helmet brands wear "D & G". I couldnt think of any. My excitement to get my pasalubong got wilder. Finally, when I got home there it was in front of me. I couldnt collect myself and my face got longer when I saw it's a friggin GDR and a pair of Kelydybd (Knighthood) gloves. The brand you would see even at Ace hardware!
That's the problem if you dont specify that brand and model that you really want to have. That's what you get when you say ' bahala kana ' and trust the person who is totally alienated by stuff for riders.
It's the thought that counts. Diba? :D
So I kinda want to try them on. The finish is better than the GDR I've seen locally sold. But man, it's still a GDR! So I told her about GDR here etc learned from her how much she paid for it. About the same price here but the gloves are insanely pricey for P560 (P150 at banketa or here at ebay http://www.ebay.ph/viItem?ItemId=260106097602).
" Pacensya na daw " she said. Well I told her, somebody might be interested with it here kaya nothing to worry about.
Kaya kayo next time - be specific. Who knows, even Index or Zeus helmet that may be fake are available even in Europe.

Will sell it of course...
tribs April 27th, 2007, 08:05 PM Bro, that GDR helmet you got--despite made in China needs to pass ECE specs kaya yung rating niya CE has to have an equivalent of something somewhere...kaya OKs na yan! Just for information.
hello00kitty April 27th, 2007, 08:22 PM the way you talk ... seems like the rich kid on the block, but STUPID! don't you really know that china mades are everywhere in the whole world? Or, just playing DUMB just to SHOW OFF!
plasticbag April 27th, 2007, 08:36 PM the way you talk ... seems like the rich kid on the block, but STUPID! don't you really know that china mades are everywhere in the whole world? Or, just playing DUMB just to SHOW OFF!
What's to show off? E hindi mo ba nabasa I couldnt collect myself and my face got longer when I saw it's a friggin GDR and a pair of Kelydybd (Knighthood) gloves. The brand you would see even at Ace hardware!
IBIG SABIHIN, if you are that SMART, AYAW NYA NG HELMET NYA at hindi nya mapaniwalaan despite the CE approval and all that crap standards you call DOT etc, merong made in china sa italy. Italy of all places! It's the fashion capital of the world. Sino ngayon ang dumb not to know that simple fact?
TriFlector April 28th, 2007, 07:45 AM the way you talk ... seems like the rich kid on the block, but STUPID! don't you really know that china mades are everywhere in the whole world? Or, just playing DUMB just to SHOW OFF!
Hello Kitty,
What I want to SHOW OFF (or convey since this is a thread) is the simple hidden message - that - ASSUME - it means you put ASS before U and ME. As in, I assume that my sister being in Italy and fashion conscious as everyone else there would get me something so cheap and not even locally made. I was assuming that she will get me AGV for crying out loud.
Kaya as I pointed out ( let me put it here once again baka your thoughts were clouded by my alleged "showing off" )- Kaya kayo next time - be specific. Who knows, even Index or Zeus helmet that may be fake are available even in Europe.
Here's showing off ---- I lived for 5 years in Europe particularly in Belgium. And I know first hand, that part of the world is so damn strict that no poor quality product will ever get to the consumer untested by some EU board for safety and high quality, ie TUV and CE for electronics.
Ive been to Italy more than 10 times and each time I was there my neck would hurt because every living soul on scoot or just walking is a head turner and until 3 years ago, I have not seen chinese made product particularly mc stuff worn or used by Italians or trying to be Italians.
If my message on ASSuming doesnt get to you - I dont know what would. I guess you are using a Vespa Hello Kitty edition. Nakita ko yun sa Gift Gate Town Center. Ah, maybe you own that shop, right? Me not worthy, with you, fight, my lord. :s
We should meet up some time - gentle naman ako - :D
Hey, welcome to the forum.
(ayan malamig na ulo ko)
albertus April 28th, 2007, 07:57 AM Relax fella's!!! heheh. Its the thought really. I had the same situation. When i thought my bike was euro spec and was in Germany i bought a rectifier..when i came back and had my mechanic replace the old rec, he was like, "oh! kala ko ba galing germany ito? eh taiwan ito" hehe.
Well, pretty much alot of things we have if you look for the "made in" most of the time youll see CHINA. Well i wasnt specific when i was in Germany kaya siguro yun binigay sa akin.
"made in china"..THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.(:
parcom_cobra April 28th, 2007, 08:23 AM eto sa akin ... ( buti kayo eh china, imported pa rin ) when i was in taiwan, i bought a pair of adidas shoes at SOGO dept store, katapat ng SOGO sa pinas ay rockwell. huli na ng malaman ko ( nasa pinas na ako ) nabili ko ay waaaaaaah .... MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES  stupid of me not to check the label kung saan gawa :O
h3lios April 28th, 2007, 08:39 AM Kahit saang parte ng mundo, binabaha na ng "Made in China".
Kahit nakatatak yan "Made in U.S.A./Japan/Germany/Spain/Finland/etc." most likely sa China parin ang factory nyan.
Reason? It's cheaper to produce/manufacture in China.
TriFlector April 28th, 2007, 08:43 AM Parcom, ang made in PI ay maganda. In fairness.
Syempre cheaper pag dating sa over all cost. Kesa kung import pa from Asia like pinas o china.
Kaya yung GDR ko for sure kahit paano orig yon. Kaya yung bibili non, makakasulit. :)
ldz_bungo April 28th, 2007, 08:50 AM like you said its the thought that counts hehehehehe imagine her carrying the big bulky box hand carry hehehehehe
h3lios April 28th, 2007, 08:59 AM like you said its the thought that counts hehehehehe imagine her carrying the big bulky box hand carry hehehehehe
Nagrequest din pa naman ako ng helmet and gears from europe....hindi na, cash nalang at dito nako bibili...
TriFlector April 28th, 2007, 09:01 AM like you said its the thought that counts hehehehehe imagine her carrying the big bulky box hand carry hehehehehe
hehehe. Hindi na sya nahiya. hehehe. Baka nga proud na proud sya hindi lang nya alam kung anong status ng brand na yan dito compared to fake Index man lang.
albertus April 28th, 2007, 09:02 AM Nagrequest din pa naman ako ng helmet and gears from europe....hindi na, cash nalang at dito nako bibili...
specify mo agad before its too late!! heheh give it a shot!
TriFlector April 28th, 2007, 09:02 AM Nagrequest din pa naman ako ng helmet and gears from europe....hindi na, cash nalang at dito nako bibili...
EURO sir hingin mo, wag GCash. hehehe
h3lios April 28th, 2007, 09:57 AM specify mo agad before its too late!! heheh give it a shot!
malay natin may tinapon na Soumy o kaya AGV, o di kaya Caberg....with matching Madhead armor.....
albertus April 28th, 2007, 09:59 AM ayun! yeah i know the mentality there. kaya most of the time may makikita kang homeboy natin na nagda dive sa dumpster doon (-:
TriFlector April 28th, 2007, 10:12 AM Oo yung iba tinatapon in a form of donation. Pag dating dito binibili sa ukay ukay! Maryosep. Pati bigas pagkakakitaan pa ng gobyerno. Maryosep talaga.
Pag sinabing old stuff, they're not really old naman - di hamak 10 years better sa mas matandang mga gamit na furniture sa gov offices natin.
jetzone April 28th, 2007, 04:08 PM "made in china" logos are everywhere in the world....
and i am lucky that those "made in china" even if its not a motorcycle gear can be bought in the philippines, singapore, or any asian countries that sells them for a cheaper price....
and since im in uk for more than 5 years...nagkalat ang mga made in china dito...
reason is..cheap labor...less tax to pay for the manufacturers....
sad to say EU members...charges quite a lot of VAT's compared to us...
tutuo nga....if you want to request a something from abroad...be specific.....
and sometimes they are not that easy to find...the name just exists and you have to look sa web for the stores that sells them....only to find out that the nearest is 300miles away from your house....
....but...you can do internet shopping or telephone/mail order...delivered to your door....
...the catch is...you will never have the chance of seeing the product and checking it first with your own eyes....
..kaya its always worth, telling the person who would buy what you want to impart the SPECIFICS.....para chances of error is minimal...and expectations promising
nicolite April 30th, 2007, 02:37 AM maski nga Nike original shoes sa mga Nike Park Store at Nike Stadium some of their shoes are made in China lalo na yung mga Sandals ... wala tayong magagwa kasi sub - con ang China ... not all made in China are bad .....
JJZX6RR April 30th, 2007, 03:37 AM Don't be surprise if you get stuffs made in China. Sheesh, it doesn't mean that it's bad.
. . kung ece approve naman yun kahit china pa yan ibig sabihin it passed the european safety standards so there is no need to worry . . .
nicolite April 30th, 2007, 04:38 AM go to www.gdrhelmet.com try to download their product catalogue and all their helmet have passed the standards ...

ngek aray ko ...........hehehehehe
bibs April 30th, 2007, 12:38 PM Add ko lang, there are also china made motorcycles in Europe, particularly in Spain... ewan lang sa ibang parts ng europe. But last January on a trip to Spain i saw a motorcycle shop selling china bikes (Kingstar ang brand)... nagulat nga ako kc medyo probinsya (albacete) pa ung pinuntahan ko tapos they're selling this brand. Maganda naman yung point ng thread starter na pag magpapabili tyo sa mga relatives natin abroad be specific of the brand. Sa akin lang for items like shoes, clothing etc... i dont mind if its made in pinas or china or anywhere else as long as its orig...

nicolite April 30th, 2007, 02:48 PM tama maski nga ASUS motherboard made in Taiwan but manufactured in China, like Linksys routers made in Taiwan but manufactured in China.
gReywulBs April 30th, 2007, 03:16 PM 'American Components, Russian Components, ALL MADE IN TAIWAN'.. hehe.. naalala ko tuloy yung famous line na yun from Armageddon while reading this thread.. :O
