ok heres my input

mahal at matibay - icon jackets from dicksteel, actually mura na yon for icon tibay yan at maganda pa

matibay naman at mura - kay sir jake an leather jackets , its cheap na supply na jackets and pants

talagang matibay at talagan mura - well kung budget ka yung jacket na gawa ko its mesh for sunny countries and its really for people on a budget

bahala na kayo - its really good to get rain gear, kahit na may pang ulan na lining ang jacket mo iba pa rin yung rain gear, meron maganda kina ryan sa motoworld kaso medyo may presyo or you can look for the cheap ones pero pangit design

kayo na bahala - an everyday jacket na pwede pamorma sa mall ito gamit mo sa mga super short trips at pag nilalabhan ang ibang jackets mo

hope this helps

Thankx for the plug bro... True, ICONs are a LITTLE pricey but well worth the protection. But my prices are STILL below MSRP.

As for yor Q: How much are tolerant to road rash & pain...?!?!?

For me, here are some pointers to think when choosing a riding jacket are:

1. Material used in the jacket
a) Leather - Ideally perforated. Can be made from cow or kangaroo hide.
b) Mesh nylon - daming klase available, from simple nylon (tipong similar to bball jerseys) to tightly woven mesh to high end ballistic nylon
c) Regular nylon - either simple nylon, Teflon treated nylon for water repellancy, Cordura branded (waterproof but usually heavy), or high tech fabrics that makes it waterproof yet lightweight
d) Protectors or armor used- either simple foam, moulded foam (for better fit), hard protectors, or hard CE rated protectors
e) Interior lining - either no lining, with nylon mesh lining, or even better, Coolmax lining for better sweat absorption

2. Fit and comfort - Jacket has to be comfortable, doesn't flap during high speeds, zips and buttons has to be durable, stitching strong (some even are Kevlar stitched)

3. Quality and R&D - Most international brands usually wind tunnel test their apparel to make sure that it is fit for riding. I asked why some products are very expensive and realize that its not the cost of the materials only but rather, the time and research invested in developing them.

4. Aesthetics - cool and practical features like pockets and reflectors on the right spots. Overall design as well.

5. Price - I guess my motto here is, just get what you can comfortably afford. But at the end of the day, we get what we pay for .

Hope this helps! Thanks!!

sir dick steee,

your prices are definetly lower thats why your on my noted list, not to mention you are nearby, still haven't had the time to drop by your place, but looking forwad to meet you

and it wouldn't be too bad to print out the tips that sir ryan gave. pwedeng pwede yan pang riders quick quide.

in addition, its nice to have a variety of riding jackets as riders, this is our look and safety at the same time. I wouldn't consider it too much of a luxury to have more than one jacket, probobly one of each kind specially for those who have embraced riding as a significant part of their life. If you use an MC jackets are really an investment/insurance not an expense:)

I agree, I myself have more than one kind of jacket. Of course, comfortability is a factor aside from fit...

I went to Motoworld (the new Connecticut store) and none of the jackets (RS Taichi, Spidi) fit me well there. Ang hirap isuot at mas mahirap hubarin. Kung umaapoy or nilanggam ang jacket ko siguradong patay na ako sa sobrang hirap hubarin.

I ended up buying a made in Pakistan mesh armored jacket in a motorcycle store in Market Market. It fit me perfectly. May removable waterproof lining and removable (tsinelas) pads and most important of all, reflectorized front and back. P4,700. Helm Star ang tatak.

Problema lang parang gusto ko parating sumayaw ng Bollywood dance everytime I dismount my bike.

Wala na sila sa Action Hobbies. Along Connecticut na sila malapit sa Ford at sa Conti's. Mas malaki na yung store kesa doon sa Petron. Mga kasing laki ng ibang branches nila tulad sa MOA and the Fort.
