View Full Version : know of a very good bike shop with original parts for honda xrm's?
kyo kusanagi January 18th, 2004, 09:54 PM Anyone here know of a very good bike shop with original parts for honda xrm's?
My bike was hit by a jeep while going to the fort.
Heres a long list of the damages:
1. bent front fork and handle bar
2. dent, bent and scratched HRC 3 piece pipe
3. bent swing arm
4. deformed body covers
5. bent foot rest
6. front headlight(dash type) totalled
7. grip protectors scratched
8. side mirrors bent and scratched
9. chasis slightly dis-aligned due to the impact.
I'm looking for a shop where I can leave the bike and have every broken part repaired or replaced. My priority are the bent chasis, swing arm, fork and body covers.
Damn jeep broadsided me.
This is the reason I hate PUV's!!! Damn them!! They just don't pay attention to the road. :I
Dencio January 18th, 2004, 10:26 PM I just hope you're ok. With those damaged bike parts listed i could picture how hard you crashed dude.:8
Be alert. Stay focused. Keep cool:C
Madaming bike parts sa Caloocan but there isn't a single bodyparts shop in there.(geddit?):>
GSChan January 19th, 2004, 12:20 AM Bro,
Do you have bike insurance? Looking at your list of damaged parts you might want to consider replacing the entire bike. The bent fork, handlebar, pipe, swingarm and chassis sounds like your bike was tweaked up pretty good. Repair is possible but you'd probably have to spend over 50% of the bike's original value to get it back to stock spec, and that's only "IF" the repair work is done properly by a knowledgeable mechanic. Otherwise, you're just going to be throwing money down the drain.
But on the otherhand, you could look at this as the perfect excuse to rebuild your bike with a lot of aftermarket hop-up parts. POSH everything na yan!!! :>
skin January 20th, 2004, 06:54 AM i see that you're from paranaque...try street shark sa better living...they many parts there...may mga posh racing products din...kung wala yung parts, puede sila magpadala from caloocan so puede mo talaga iwan yung xrm mo...

hubris January 20th, 2004, 02:38 PM kyo bro, ikaw musta naman? buti naman at mukang sa iyo e wala namang masamang nangyari. overtaking sa right side nga ba nangyari ang accident? good luck sa bike repairs.
bragster January 20th, 2004, 03:14 PM I'm glad you're okay, Kyo! Contact Click_me in these forums. I'm sure he'll be able to help you albeit he's from Marikina.
This is the very reason why having a bike insured is soooo worth it.
For a few thousands (let's say at most 3K /year for an XRM) Your whole bike can and will be replaced. :)
kyo kusanagi January 21st, 2004, 12:36 AM The jeep broadsided me in an intersection. I wasn't overtaking anyone. I was just going straight to the fort then the jeep steps on the gas and rams me on my right side. The driver said he didn't see me.
As for insurance I have one with Standard, but they are taking to long to process my claim. I need the bike for my daily commute.
kyo kusanagi January 21st, 2004, 12:38 AM Tomorrow, I'm gonna have my handle bars bent back in shape as well as the fork. Just so I can use the bike. I'll leave the body work and part replacement to the insurance.

Kyo, it is a good decision in part to have your bike insured last December, others don’t have insurance although most of us can afford it. I guess it’s just a matter of choice.
I remember that you travel all the way from Paranaque to our office in Q.C. just to meet me. Who would ever imagine that you will be involved in such accident a month after, but as the saying goes anything can happen at the very least expected. These only shows how vulnerable we can be at the streets so we must always be alert; it pays to be extra careful.
Claims process starts when all the documents are receive by our office and your bike inspected by our adjuster. Claims evaluations take minimal time as possible as all the docs. must be check and verify.
Repair Evaluation Report or "RVR" of your bike is being done at our head office, it tells what parts to be replace or repair, how much labor and materials needed to get your bike as it was, before the accident.
In fairness to our office we have not yet receive any documents from you though our adjuster is schedule to visit your bike anytime this coming Thursday.
Rest assured that you will get a fair and just settlement in no time.
P.S.
Kyo pls. dont make any repairs to your bike, as it will make your claims deniable. Let the adjuster first see your bike and let our claims people give you the go signal to do it. Its for own safety and protection.
kyo kusanagi January 22nd, 2004, 12:47 AM I just had my front wheel aligned so I can use the bike. I didn't touch any of the damaged parts.
By tomorrow I'll have all the documents ready. I just hope everything goes smoothly.
Its a real pain to have your bike modified worth 10-12 thousand pesos and have a jeep just bend, scratch, and damage all those parts. :(
As for my comment about the claim taking to long, well, I apologize for that remark. Its just that I really treasure my bike so much, that I can't bear a day of not riding it. The sound of the pipe, the acceleration, the looks all make me miss the feel of it all. Seeing the bike in a damaged state is enough to make me furious. Anyone who treasures their machines know of this feeling.
