hi guysssssssssss newbie here!!! i have a suzuki raider ............ j, and i havent bought a helmet yet, can u guys give me some suggestions on what brand that is a bit cheap but reliable and tested...... tnxxxxxx safe driving!!!!

The first helmet that I ever bought was a Zeus. I believe its the cheapest among the DOT/ECE certified helmets. Its nicely padded, working vents and has cool designs. Be wise by investing in quality safety gears. Ride safe! :)

i suggest you try to visit JT triumph coz there are some HJC helmets on sale. Prepare around 2 - 3K (depending on the model you will choose) and you will be going home with a DOT/Snell Certified helmet. It's probably the best buy you could have for that budget.

you can also try Fulmer AFD4, it's DOT certified and the price is below 2K, two of my friends here got it for 1.8k only...it should be cheaper there in manila...just be sure they've got stocks on spare faceshields, just in case you need to replace it in the future

bro, Fulmer Helmets are originally from the US, but economics would dictate that they have it manufactured somewhere else in Asia to lower the cost...

two of my friends got theirs for 1.8k from the actual selling price of P2k....i'll check kung ibigay nya pa din for the same price...i'll PM you later.

FULMER, INDEX or CARTING.... these are all Thailand-made and cost below P2.5K.... DOT cert pa... just don't buy the ones below P1.8K...

The problem with the 508w, a modular helmet, is that the screws tend to loosen up...so you have to check it once in a while.

Just this morning I was at the intersection of Makati Ave. and Paseo De Roxas...fortunately my lane was caught up on the red light. The screws fell from the right side of my helmet so I had to go down my bike to reach for it.

But despite that, I love Zeus...sana lang di mangyari na matanggal yung screws niya kung backride ko ang may suot (that's why I bought two helmets, para hindi 'tabo' yung suot nung pillion rider).

Although I would like to try other brands...next target HJC.

bro, i had a Z508w before, i gave it to my brother when he bought his bike...try this to solve your problem with the screws....
1. remove the screw and clean them.
2. also clean the nuts attached to the helmet with cotton buds.
3. put clear nail polish on the screw's thread, and place it back while its still wet.
4. it will act as an adhesive when it dries up.

it will only take a little extra effort should you want to remove the screws again...but surely, it won't fall off again...HTH

i guess for riders eventually you start buying helmets for varius reasons

my favorite kaya yun na din ang pinacustomize ko is 508w originally glossy black purchased from AMP motosiklo sabi kase ni aries bilhin na eh, and naubusan ng size ko sa motoworld at action hobbies.

but to give you direction, check you budget and ask yourself how much you are really willing to spend on a helmet and if it will be your only helmet or plano mo ba yung may iba iba ka.

when you know your budget, canvas ka sa iba ibang stores, check the integrity of the helmet, yung mga index na peke you can bend with your bare hands and if you knock on the shell obvious na hollow. Now even Arai helmets nababasag on really hard collisions pero what keeps you safe is the structure of the helmet, i noticed when i saw a cracked helmet na arai, yung foam nakadikit sa shell, if there is more space kase between the foam and the shell more tendency to crack.

more tips, spyder enduro, gdr, jds, mcr and tripple x are all the same , i'm talking about the model na nasa harap ang bukasan ng modular na you have to use your thumb and index finger to open it. somehow this model seems to be used by many brands, usually walang vents to sa head part, i saw variations na same model pero pareho ng air vents sa 508w, i wonder tuloy kung walng butas to na kinabitan ng airvents.

anyway i have some helmets here china 07 models, mas maganda yung mga bagong model kase mas nag improve na ang mga galing china more and more as time passes by. just text me if you feel like making me part of your the stores to canvass from

well, as for experience...

i've tried and used an index full-face helmet(911 model),
bought it way back(3 years ago) for 2thou sa caloocan when zeus helmets are either rare o wala pang masyado nilalabas sa local market.

i can personally say okay naman ang index in terms of quality and safety.
gamit ko siya nung sumemplang ako and it really protected my head,
tho i can't say kung grabe o hinde yung pagkakabagsak ko...
what's important is binuhay pa rin ako ng index kahit papaano.

ingat lang at marami nga lang lumalabas na fake na index helmet,
but i'm sure hindi ka na talo kung makakakuha ka ng original.

buy a Helmet that is DOT CE APPROVED. Index-siguraduhin mo yun orig hindi yun nabibili dyan sa tabi tabi. ZEUS - this helmet has been tested by the company itself before they put it into market.

I got my Zeus 803 Full face (Titanium from Motoworld) for 1700 pesos. Sale kasi yun that time kasi last stocks na. I used it for 7 times only and I'm planning to replace it with hjc. Baka meron sa inyo na interesado. By the way, small po size ninto.
