Just bought a GDR helmet. Napadaan ako sa may pier and found out gano kadami at kamura helmets dun. Anyone who experienced using this? Safe po ba? I've already used this a couple of times and it seems very comfortable naman. Very clear din yung lens though I'm not sure kung tatagal ang pagiging clear. Just in case ba may nabibiling lens for GDR helmets sa mga caloocan stores?

I don't think that GDR is DOT OR ECE Certified. I can't see the brand listed on certified brands. Also, it does not matter if the helmet feels comfortable, that is not a TOP priority and also of course the lens should be clear, if it were not clear then it would be quite useless. My personal advise to you is buy at least a Zeus helmet, Zeus helmets are one of the cheapest DOT certified helmets available in the market. Hope this helps. If you love biking then I am sure you would not mind spending a bit more for your gear.

Thanks for the advice sir. But FYI po, as per their webite: http://www.gdrhelmet.com/english/products.asp?Sid=149, GDR helmets are ECE-DOT certified though some of their models were not. As for the comfortability, don't you think safety and comfort should come together? Specially since most of us travel long distances.

Anyway thanks again sir. And UP lang po kung may nabibili po bang lens ng GDR sa mga shops dito sa Manila?

GOD bless! :)

i've tried several helmets, from bull caps to tabo, to china made and zeuz to arai

too bad i can't really say much kase i haven't had a major crash to test the helmets. (and i hope i never get into one)

siguro personally i use the not so expensive ones for everyday and the special ones for special rides.

some parting notes

between no helmet and tabo, id choose tabo
between GDR and tabo i'd choose GDR
between GDR and more expensive helmets i'd choose more expensive helmets

try to maximize the resource you have with what you plan to get:)

remember the key to purchasing is value for your money, not necessarily the cheapest not necessarily the best but most value for a certain amount

1 bottle of beer for 50 pesos
100 bottles of beer for 2500
or 3 for 125

since you don't need to consume all 100 although it will turn out cheaper the best buy is 3 for 125

just a tip in purchasing

by the looks of the helmets on GDR's website....the designs were copied from various branded helmets...Shark and KBC to mention some....i just hope they offer the same protection....and are really certified....but wearing these helmets should be a lot better than not wearing anything at all....
