IMHO dapat naka helmet ang driver at passenger ng bike for a simple reason "SAFETY while you are on the road" kahit na malapit lang ang pupuntahan...wag mo na antayin na may mag trip at parahin ka hassle un especially pag nagmamadali ka by that time.

the style of your helmet depends upon your preference po...some like a full face some like half-face helmet nevertheless if you will be getting one ensure na DOT/SNELL approved or certified ang helmet mo para sigurado ka sa quality at tibay, worth for your money ika nga.

for me naka full-face ako because I feel much safe sa full face if in case(heaven forbid) mag-spill ako e hindi sasadsad ang muka ko sa aspalto at magmukang tocino :D and one more thing...porma :D

ganyan talaga ata pagnagmomotor magastos dahil sa safety gear but always remember this...when you buy your safety gear para mo na din binibili ang buhay mo kaya wag ka masyado magtipid :)

DOT/SNELL are certifications for helmet while CE are those for body armors/jackets. Look at it from this point of view... How much does your head cost? Sounds stupid but that is how riders with certified helmets think. You can get a 500-bucks worth of helmet but if you have an accident, don't think that helmet can take the impact and so goes for the gears for the body. You can see riders that are wearing sleeveless shirts and speeding way above 100 and you can also see some "fully-geared" riders that drive slow. From there on you can understand the value of protective equipment/s. Accidents happen and you wouldn't wanna be caught off-guard! :banana:

full body armor <-- again this is another safety thing...armors has elbow, back/spine and chest protectors...usage pag nakakita ka ng palaka habang nagmomotor ka ng mga 70-100km/h pwede mong lundagin kahit magpagulong-gulong ka e di ka "masyado" maaano...gets mo po,gawin lang natin light ung usapan natin :D...PLEASE don't take that seriously but at least yu have an idea what does it do for you...again po...for protection hindi porma o kung ano pa man...we do not dress up for the looks/porma but we are preparing for the fall, hindi lang po yan sa nagkakarera

Yup, Ian's right... If you're a little tight on budget, I suggest that you get Komine's from Ryan. These helmets are certified and you have a lot of coole designs to choose from and they weigh pretty light compared to some. And I have tried the brand FULMER, ok rin ang certification plus removable liner plus you can get it at around Php1500 pero limited na lang ang stores na meron.

Wearing all the gears like full face helmet, jackets with armor is for safety purposes. Kanya kanyang trip... walang pakialamana!!! :O :O :O

Kung nakabili ka ng motor or skut na worth P30K to P75K nalang I don't see any reason bakit yung P3.8K to P5K (DOT/SNELL) na helmet hindi natin mabili. Para naman sa safety natin ito kaibigan! Full-face helmet ka (recommended) para sa eyes & face AT lalo na sa head protection mo in case na accident will happen. ALWAYS wear your helmet (yan ang advise ng Honda owner's manual ko). Kahit very short trips lang.

Yung Mrs. ko naka open-face na HJC AC-2 na helmet. Binili ko P2.8K. Worth naman. Pero siempre mas-maganda ang full-face na helmet. Since babae siya mas-prefer niya open-face at dito lang sa city driving at slower speed lang kami kapag naka back-ride siya. Pero talagang recommended parin ang full-face lalo na sa mga lalake at lalo na sa long trips at high speeds.

There are a few but most of which are not updated.

And, well Index helmets are mostly immitations and are not certified by any safety organization, which explains why they are cheaply priced.

Pare may index helmet website, tama si mhyk. INDEX helmets are made from thailand. Guys pwede nyo try tong link http://www.indexhelmet.com/main%20helmet1%20eng.html english na yan. I have an index helmet myself 811-2 and I find it ok. The ventilation is good to minimize fogging and when raining you can still see the road with its visor I got it for 4k and price increases depending on the helmet style.

seeing those trademarks in their site i believe they are still working for the approval.

or i gez, maybe their new line of products are now DOT certified but based on products in caloocan or other stores, still they don't have this DOT signs. :(
