Any thoughts which of the two is a better helmet? I know these are totally different helmets. One is a full-face and the other is a modular, but if you can give the pros and cons of each, I will gladly appreciate it. Am thinking of upgrading my HJC CL-12. Thanks in advance!:D

hi eric..if you'd askd me...

well 1st of all both helmets are great but it depends on your needs...

i myself prefer the zeus 508 coz i can smoke while riding......:D and of course mas presko lalo na pag traffic....

cl-14 is very maporma because of its designs and the features are almost perfect for a standard helmet...

oh by the way you can check out boylits thread..coz he has a first hand xprience on the zeus 508...

zeus 508w, aside from nice looking helmet, its also comfortable, nice flip up, and not so xpensive....dot approved also..washable..btw, 508w has more vents than that of 508 which is really good also

i just got mine a month ago, so far, so good, i dont about HJC's price..i bet its a bit higher than zeus...

Medyo OT...

Ei Bros,

HJC Symax cost around Php7800 at Caloocan... So if you're tight on budget, get the Zeus!:D

i just got my zeus (looks like 505w) helmet last friday and boy it feel like no other helmet ive ever worn. it is comfortable and i like the rubberlike finish. the vents are enough to keep it from fogging and it is easy to put it on. the weight was okey and it was not so hot inside. i just got it brand new for PHP4500 who brought it from taiwan.

my suggestion, get a zeus! :D :D :D

last sunday, as i was driving and i was wearing a zeus 508w..suddenly it rained and i was on pranic mode coz its my first time wearing that helmet in the rain and as far as i have read about its reviews, there aint a single review of that helmet regarding getting wet...so i was thinking that it will go right through my vents and get soaked....but boy o boy...the helmet really is a good one...fits good, nice price and waterproof.....you could even get a spare tinted lens....well ventilated too...

Thank you all for your advice. I did try out the 508W, and the one hand flip-up feature is great, but one thing really bothered me. This is the first helmet I tried on that made me feel claustrophobic. The face shield was too close to my face. The chin bar nearly touched my chin. As everyone knows already, when buying a helmet, get the one you feel most comfortable with. This isn't. I am not saying that the 508W helmet is a bad one. Not all head shapes & sizes are the same. I am not discreditting Zeus helmets, it's just this particular model I didn't like.

I, instead, opted for a KBC VR-7 Wolf helmet. Another Korean made helmet like the HJC but with the paddings like an Arai, lightness of a Shoei, DOT & SNELL certified, and the price of an HJC. It's not a modular helmet though . . . Really can't have everything, can you . . .

you have a point too...the flip up has some weak points esp. on the flip side...f u got the money, full face is the best...ok and flip up pang city driving...and thats why i bought it in the first place..i got a shoei for long drive..

yup, it's much safer to use a full face helmet, specially if you're doing long rides.

I own a HJC CL-14 MBII helmet and frankly its worth the 4 thousand I paid for it. Its cool, cofortable, has good shields and is durable. I'm not familiar with ZEUS helmets, so correct me If I'm wrong but isn't HJC the 3rd best brand in the world.

I read in some websites that the ranking is;

1. Shoei
2. Arai
3. HJC

Bro, where were you able to buy the KBC helmet? For how much? Just curious... :D

BTW, here's a link that's somewhat related to this topic: http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/accessoriesandgear/fliphelmets/

you could find an evaluation of ZEUS modular helmet from this site.

levis,

I ordered it from the States, it's around US$219 retail there but you can find one at the same price of an HJC.
