I remember reading a thread saying how cheap gear (especially helmets) is in California, Southern Cali in particular.

i have relatives coming up from SoCal for New Years, and I may want to see if they can bring me stuff (ie. leathers/boots/helmet for myself).

So, are the bargains worth it? And if so, are there any sites for stores in that area I could go and order from or browse?

Thankee!

Hmmm try to PM RiderDriver. He's from SoCal and he may know where the good deals are. He's the guy with pics from the LA motorshow standing beside 4 babes while his hands are everywhere except at his side. :D

Sorry bro. Wish I could help you rather than just refer you. Someone will probably post a reply... don't worry. :)

Canadian Flip,

I don't know how much Helmets are in Canada but the best price I've seen was in the Bike show. I almost ended up new Soumy for $275 but they didn't have my size. BTW, some merchants don't charge tax.

Sometimes we get some good deal from our Mail Order friends when they have closeouts.

Check out Chaparral in San Bernardino. They were selling the new Shoei RF 1000's for $268 and the Syncrotec for mid $300's. KBC Racer 1's are available for $298. At the Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, we found Arai Quntums for $298.
