good day guys! tanong ko lang kung merong may 1st hand experience dito na na-semplang at zeus modular ang gamit? i know it's a bad thing that happened, pero to live and tell about it can be of great help to current owners and future zeus modular owners. i know mas safe ang full face, pero the convenience of a modular is truly tempting. TIA!

my bro. was involved in an accident (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTP8NoBIsU8) last April... caused by a f**king, st*p*d, drunk pedestrain who crossed a no crossing portion of Roxas Blvd.
t'was a good thing my bro. was wearing his safety gears, which he does everytime he rides. Not only did the helmet save him from serious injuries but his (armored) jacket and knee/shin pads as well... he was using a Zeus508W that time...
Mind you, my bro was also wearing a reflective vest as an extra precaution during night-time driving...

MORE POWER! be safe! salamat!

merong isang thread dito dati, na nagcrash yung rider, suot nya ay zues na 506 ata, basta zues sya na half faced... nag shatter ang lens ng helmet, if i remembered it correctly, into sharp pieces pa at nagkaron sya ng mga malalang sugat sa face because of it... parang nag slide ata yung rider sa pababa at palikong daan, head ang unang tumama sa pavement...

correct me if im wrong pero mas safe parin ang full face helmet with dot/snell seal compare to the modular helmets.

just sharing my inputs... ride safely!

based dun sa binigay na link ni col. ted.... hindi rin pala maganda yung 508, buti na lang natingnan ko yung link.... balak ko pa naman kumuha ng 508...sir......di naman po pangit ang Z508 based sa survey....medyo mababa lang ang rating nya kung icocompare sa ibang counterparts nya na more pricey...yet still pasok pa rin sa safty standards.....i myslef use the very affordable yet reliable 508W helmet:)

tama po si sir jomed dyan, mas safe parin po ang fullface kahit anung accidente. and my tendency na matangal at umangat yung front side ng modular.
i have fullface and modular helmets too...

helmets as long as certified, will protect us in some ways. pero ang tunay na malaking factor sa rider safety is his manner of riding his bike. mapa half, modular or full face ka man, kung kaskasero ka at barumbado sa daan hindi ka ililigtas ng helmet mo pag maaksidente ka kahit dot/snell certified pa yan. kaya i really believe our gears are just secondary when it comes to safety... defensive and smart driving pa din ang malaking factor. i wear 508w and an armored jacket pero i respect my gears' capability. i am aware na less protective ang modular and yung mesh jacket too, so i keep in mind to drive defensive at all times. meron kasi ako nakikita full geared nga pero akala mo kung mag maneho di sila masasaktan pag naaksidente kasi naka gear sila. to the threadstarter, basta certified yung helmet tapos combine mo na lang ng defensive driving ok na din... pero kung afford mo other gears mas ok. ingatz! :)

one of our clubmates had a painful crash test for the zeus 508W. he hit a safari head on (humampas yung mukha nya sa grille nung safari) at marcos hiway sometime this february and i'd say the helmet saved his life. his motorcycle was wrecked, and the rider sustained some bodily injuries (was brought to the hospital). (BTW: the helmet sustained only deep scratches on the lens, and the modular part didn't go off)

since he had a very good experience about the zeus, he still prefers to wear a zeus modular helmet nowadays.

sir, just a piece of advice. since your helmet served its purpose already, why don't you dispose of it and buy a new one. I think a helmet is good for only one impact and that's it. Time to replace it with a new one. Suggestion lang po. Wag sana MAGTIPID sa safety gears.

wow, daming nag-reply! thanks to everyone for taking the time to give their $.02 worth on this matter. i'm gonna buy a helmet real soon and the zeus 508/508w is definitely on my list. dami palang na-save ng modular helmets nila. lalo yung isa na head on with a safari (grabe, wala kang ligtas dun, ang lapad nun eh). its good to hear na this helmet holds its own kahit na di ganun kataas rating nya. well, for me, pwede na sya kasi unang-una, certified naman, tapos affordable, convenient at subok na ng mga MCPers. again, maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat at malaking tulong ito sa pagpili ko ng helmet (pipili pa ba ako, zeus na!).

yup inisip ko din yon,
but its my judgement call, i inspected the helmet, inside and out and all i saw was paint scratches and on the visor (from sliding face down)
so i think ok pa sya.

Thanks for the concern.

Just a concern, I sometimes see riders wearing modular helmets flipped-up while driving fast along EDSA. I think it will be much safer if we kept it down unless we stop for a break or moving very slowly.

And I strongly support chrome8's advice, its VERY dangerous to use crashed helmets. Baka di obvious yung mga tama sa shell since matigas sha but no matter how expensive a helmet is, I think it needs to be replaced.

ako im using a zeus 803 full-face helmet. 1,800 pesos lang po sa exceed. i had a spill nung sunday and it obtained minor scratches lang sa left chin area. malapit lang desination ko kaya i forgot to strap it properly (never safe po!) but hindi naman sya natanggal sa ulo ko after 3 rolls sa kalsada. im glad i did not settle for really cheap helmets and i thank mcp for the knowledge that i obtain sa mga forums. kaya kung malaki makuha ko sa comprehensive insurance ko most of it ay gagamitin ko for a riding jacket and a better zeus helmet... 2100a
