View Full Version : What's the milage of your Loncin?
pac-man September 13th, 2006, 08:51 PM Hi,
I have a Loncin Cyclone and is generally very happy with it. However, a lot of people are telling me that Chinese bikes won't last and that they will break down after just a few thousand km.
My Cyclone has almost reached 3000km now, and only a few minor problems.
How about your bike?

Sir my bike is a loncin cruiser150....milage is 10,000++ km...... no problems at all.... my club mates own also a bike like yours(Cyclone C200) no problems naman pagnaguusapusap kami.....at mas matataas ang mga milage ng mga yun...abou 20-30 thousand km na yun pasi palagi yung bumabyahe...... wag mo na lang pansinin yung mga nagsasabi ng negative sa motor mo.....sarado isip nila sa mga japanese branded bikes.....darating din na naman ang panahon na matatanggap na ng society ang china bikes....bakit ba yung SYM na gawa ng taiwan.....d b?....just RIDE SAFE AND RIDE PROUD....
erictenefrancia September 14th, 2006, 01:23 PM Ako rin I had a c200 before, and I had a chance to ride with the Dragon riders to Quezon, most of us were riding China bikes we never had a problem except a flat.
One of the dragon Riders, newbie, riding his cyclone200 rode all the way from Las Pinas to Iloilo and back. Grabe yung byahe nya, but his c200 never had a problem.
pac-man September 14th, 2006, 02:53 PM Thanks for your replies! :*
I forgot to say that I'm from Europe so I don't understand Phillipene. :o
But I can see from your replies that the C200 does not seem to have many problems. I was starting to become worried since everybody told me to stop riding it because it was unsafe. There are only very few Chinese build bikes were I live, so there is not much info about them and nobody knows about the build quality.
Thanks again. And if more C200 riders could write their milage and if they had any problems I would be really happy.
Ride safely! :*
4TheRide September 15th, 2006, 10:43 PM We have the same engine but i'm, sadly, still at about 4500km
not because of the bike but because of not having time to ride. I would say that with our 1st hand experiences with loncin cyclone and terminator bikes that for the most part, it will not let you down.
The engine is good. Just keep changing the oil regularly and i dont think you will have any problems with it. its got a lot of 'honda' in it.
The frame needs a little Tender Loving Care. It will rust. We, in manila, live by the sea so salty air is always there, Don't know where you are in europe but the same applies i guess. Make sure it does not get a foothold by cleaning it right away, oiling some stuff and greasing what needs greasing.
The Electricals are a little bit buggy. Connectors are not very good. Spark plug cable is so so. Bulb seats are cheap. easy enough to replace when they give you problems.
The accessories are crappy. Cables, gauges, headlights, and fairings are not high quality. Just get better replacements when or if they fail . Screws WILL fall off. This usually happens during the first 5000km After that you have either replaced or 'fixed' all those screw. (they will rust also where contact is made with the driver)
Don't get me wrong, these are minor problems. If you like wrenching like we do then its even kind of fun trying to redesign, repair, replace, eliminate what breaks or does not look good for you.
I love my bike - i call it my Hardly Davidson
:)
pac-man September 16th, 2006, 08:37 PM Hi 4theride,
That was exactly the kind of information I was looking for :) . I'm not too worried about the engine, since it a Honda copy. I'm more worried about the parts that concerns safety like the frame, the wheel bolts, the tires, brakes or anything else that might cause a crash if they fail.
I know about the crappy wiring and connectors. I had a few problems with this, but thats nothing because it's not really a safety issue. I found that if I bend the metal part in the connector slightly they connect better.
You say I should get better replacements but how do I do that? I mean, Loncin is making all spareparts, right? Or can I use spareparts from some Japanese bikes?
Thank you for your reply. I have more faith in the bike now.
byker September 16th, 2006, 11:16 PM Hello pacman;
I have a C200 also. The mileage of my bike now is 6700++ kms.
Last week, I miscalculated a flooded area somewhere in Sikatuna, Quezon City. I thought the flood was shallow but to my surprise, it was up to the engine level (roughly about the height of the top portion of my front fender) and the bike engaged the flood problem free! I felt good about its performance.
The downside to my bike is the vibration whenever I reach the 80-100kph though. Otherwise, the bike perfectly suits my needs.
4TheRide September 17th, 2006, 12:19 PM Frame - Its more than strong enough for the engine and rider. Welds seem ok. Metal is not as hard as japanese bikes but i think its more than required. Should be ok in the long run (5+ years) as long as ypu dont damage it in a crash or something.
Tires - Stock tires are chinese. They are asaid to be slippery when wet. I still have the originals on- they were for the 1st 1000km. We have different rims though. Mine is more cruiser like and beefier. I have seen pictures of a crashed c200 with the rim in front broken. I have also seen pictures of cages (cars) with the same thing. Soo i guess its your call on how safe you think it is. I havent seen one around these parts not using the stock rim and have only seen one with a broken one involved in a major single vehicle crash (sadly driver was killed, bike was totally wrecked - its on this forum somewhere)
I pulled by rear wheel out already to change the tube. Was quite suprised to see rubber dampers holding the wheel to the sprocket. Did a little research and found out this was normal. The axle seems like its made from good stuff, heavy and hard. The bolts are, well, bolts. as long as they are on tight, to the proper torque i see no reason for them to cause problems.
Brakes are supposed to be honda compatible. I have no problem with mine yet. Wingman has a 150cc loncin cruiser. He replaced the rear brake pad assembly with a honda one for underbones i think. Front and rear sprockets are also honda compatible.
Cables are generic, you can usually get a slightly longer one or shorter one intended for other jap or chinese bikes. In terms of getting replacement parts, We do things differently over here. We don't go by part numbers, we go by part. Bring the part you need to the local motorcycle shop and they will tell you what fits and from what bike. It kinda makes its easier for us than you. Maybe it would also work there.
Hope that gives you some ideas. Attached some picts. My bike and your bike. Maybe looking at another chinese 'build' will give you some relief
Keep the shiney side up man!
:)
pac-man September 18th, 2006, 10:43 PM Thanks again 4theride! :)
About the spareparts it very different here. 80% of all motorcycles are Japanese. The rest is American (Harley) or European (BMW, Ducati, Aprillia). Less than 1% is chinese. So when I go to a dealer they will ask me from what bike that part is. If I mention a Chinese bike they won't help me unless I know the exact partnumber.
It's not a problem since I can get original Loncin spareparts. But I would like to exchange them with Jap parts when they fail.
Right now, I'm bothered with the dash board. It's extremly unstable. Both speedometer and tachometer needles are "shaking" more and more. I don't want to buy a new one since the problem was present with the original one when it was new. It's just getting worse over time, and now it's of no use. So I'm looking for a replacement.
I'm very happy that I found this forum. You guys have been very helpful. Thank you very much. :)
