Bro, its all up to you kung kaya mo. sa experience ko, maganda naman ang naka gear, safe ka tlaga. pero eto...ANG INIT BRADER! para akong nag sauna pagdating ko dito sa office. its a good thing i always have an extra shirt. ang kalaban kasi dito yung traffic eh.

kaya from that day on, naka simple shirt lang ako sa loob, waterproof jacket and gloves. maong, leather boots. and a lot of caution.

My work's only 4 Km away but i still wear those gears., you never can tell ika nga. Remember that most accidents happens in the first 12Km. radius from your home (according to stats).

its alright bro... tandem ride kami everyday ng brother ko from cabuyao to parañaque and vice versa... naka-gear kami and of course safety helmet... as sir Chi has cited, mas mainit nga lang lalo na kapag traffic... ganun din kami, nagbabaon lang kami ng extra shirt para pagbihisan pagdating sa opisina...

Wag mong pansinin kung anu man ang maririnig mo.. ang mahalaga ay ang kaligtasan natin. Pag sakay ko ng Motor geared up na ako.. helmet, knee/shin and elbow guard. Pag group at long ride added safety gears...

Kanina lang on my way home sa intersection ng Quirino at Roxas Blvd may mga Pulis sukat marinig ko "Naks naman" siguro inggit sya sa gears ko, kasi sila (di ko nilalahat) hinde marunong magsuot ng helmet

i don't have body armor but i do wear my helmet and scoyco elbow and knee guards always. i also waer a multicolor jersey for more visibility on the road. yun na lang nga suot ko but sometimes i get comments like "hayup" and "kumpletos recados" but i don't mind them. :)

Body armor (with shoulder, elbow, chest and back rubber pads) Php2,500 -Php3,000 pesos mesh kaya breathable.
Knee and Shin Guard Php1,500 pesos (magandang klase na yun) yung iba may elbow guard na rin.
Helmet Index ranges from Php1,000 pataas depende sa design na gusto mo.

boots, marami nag muran ridingboots. got mine from motoworld, 4k lang!! singpresyo lang ng basketball shoes! safe pa paa mo! pang riding kasi talaga!

gloves ko sa cation hobbies ko nabili, gauntlet type na komine with carbon fiber knuckles. 2.050k dati.

1. Helmet - P2,000 (Index is the most cheapest pero ok. HJC & ZEUS mahal)
2. Knee/Shin and Elbow Guard - P1,300 (Scoyco Racing na brand)
3. Gloves - P300++ (padded na yan bro., Scoyco the chepest AFAIK)

I use gear for every bike i ride, U-Bones specially, i always get a side remark like WOW, si Mask Rider Black, or sisigaw nalang ang tao ng SHAIDER!but what people dont understand is thats what keeps me alive! hehe. I regularly use a Zeus 508w, Original FOX Armor w/spine protector and kidney belt, Pole position Advance Knee pads, POLO riding boots. EXCEPT when i have to go to the grocery, where i wear just a regulation helmet, prolly my old cl22 HJC touring helmet. and some old jeans

anyway, i also ride an underbone, but i see to it that i'm in full gear everyday. i wear it with pride, not minding people who call me "robocop", "ninja turtle", or whatever. insecurities can really make someone say something, right? :O wheter it's a big bike, an UB, or a scooter, i believe that wearing safety gears is a must. by the way, i sort of have a mini-closet in my office where i put all my slacks and long sleeves/barong for office. so no prob when i arrive, even if it was a hot ride, i can freshen up and turn to bruce wayne from a fully-armored batman! :D

@fireice, i really invested on my gear first, rather than my ride's set-up. spent almost P10k. you don't really have to spend that much. for starters, you can get the knee/shin guard and helmet (and please when you do get a helmet, wear it on your head. not supposed to protect your elbow, man ;) ). our bros have posted ideal products and its prices, i've seen. :clap:

iwas sita pa sa checkpoint, remember ung checkpoint sa halang, crystal spring & bangyas area, last time nag ride kami sa caliraya, on our wayback home, all types of mc na dumadaan pinapara dun sa 3 area pero nang kami na ang dumaan, all 7 scooter wearing suomy, arai, agv, zeus helmet & JR armored jacket. pinanood lang kami habang dumadaan kami, ala man pinara sa min, he he...

It doesnt totally eliminate the risk on injuries but at least minimize. You can choose to save that money from a hospital bill, time to painstakingly recover and bare injuries for the rest of your life or wear that armor/protection. At times it can even draw a clear margin between dusting off and free trip to Emergency room.

Me I wear
Mesh Jacket, leather gloves and modular helmet on gimik or ride to work
Full face helmet, Full leathers and boots during group rides

naranasan ko na kasi magskid..
kaya ngayon I always wear armored jacket
and pag nakashort lang ako laging may knee protector
most importantly yung helmet naten.. kundi dahil sa helmet ko siguro
malamang wasak ang mukha ko..

one thing i had noticed kapag naka back armor ka...lalo na from a distance ..mas igagalang ka at bibigyan ka ng safer distance ng ibang motorista[provided hindi pasaway yung riding behavior mo]

yung back armor ko...knoxx stoway...very light...very versatile...pagkatapos ng gamitin...just roll it na parang banig...then tago sa backpack.:)

i take pride in wearing my protective gears. just takes a little more time of your day but its worth more than it.:smoking:

my pre-office attire. zeus 2000 full face, komine mesh ac protect, komine extreme knee-shin, salomon protrek 6.

my palengke attire. zeus open face, scoyco elbow and knee-shins. salomon amphib.

same old hazard and danger on road whether on ub or not. some. jeeps and buses will still swerve dangerously to the right from the farthest left. pedestrians will cross in their most convenience. commuters will think the roads is the biggest garbage bin. cars and taxis will be thinking they own your mc's lane. so why gear up less on an underbone?

next project ko, spine/back protector and protective riding jacket.

always remember mga bro that geared-up riders get more respected on the road than riders on bull cap, t-shirts, shorts and tsinelas. coz people would think that geared-up riders' better understand riding with sense. pero wag maging pasaway to earn the respect. though my work is a just a kilometer away from house, i always use my mesh jacket w/ pads, full-finger gloves & knee pads coz u'll never know when accident will occur, better be ready for it. kapag na-one time ka, hanggang sisi na lang magagawa mo. don't mind the side comments, it won't save you from the hazzard of riding. hope this enlighten us all. safe riddin' mga bros...

ako, i respect fellow riders and cagers while on the road. i always observe traffic rules and regulations. i am used to raising my left hand to tell a cager who has just given me a space my appreciation.

but some fellow riders almost always insinuate a race upon seing you wearing armor. i don't mind and i don't care! i let them pass. pero minsan napapaisip ako na kapag maluwag ang kalsada at walang ibang gumagamit, i'll give them what they want.

Hi to all para sa akin my armor o wala basta reponsible driver ka aksidente ay maiiwasan. Ang kailangan lang isa isip ay safety di lang sarili pati ang iba... Pero sa panahon ngayon sa dami ng driver na reckless kakailanganin nga natin ng armor. kasi kahit di mo kasalanan eh madadamay ka sa katarantaduhan ng driver na walang pakungdagan kung mag drive.. that all folks...

kahit araw suot ko po yung reflectorized vest.

OK nga pag naka full armor ka eh,

un nga lang, kht anong armor pa yan kung babanggain naman tayo ng mga 22log na mga cage, wala din, pero armor(MC) means to reduce the damage...
