It was a fun day yesterday, weather forecast was a promising day and temperature was playing from 7*C to tops of 16*C. The planned ride has to be done, map of the first leg is below:

From my place in Bayswater I went to Red_Harley10's at Endevour Hills first as agreed so we can ride together to Ashburton and pick up Sawanasa*i*i. We managed to find his place in Ashburton after slightly missing the street.

After Sawanasa*i*i geared up to pillion ride on Red_Harley10's Glide, we commute it up to Doncaster and then Warrandyte. Both bikes were all warmed up to paced it up a bit from Warrandyte to Kangaroo Ground, then from Kangaroo Ground we hit those fast-flowing left and right sweepers to Christmas Hills before we tasted a bit of twisties on the way down to Yarra Glen. From Yarra Glen we turned left heading to Healesville and had another bite of some really fast straights and sweepers to Healesville. The glorious weather provided the obvious crowd at Healesville -- bikes and more bikes, with this kind of weather most of the bike riders in Melbourne can be seen at Healesville's lines of cafes. So we parked the bikes in front of a local cafe across Healesville Hotel, there is nothing more pleasant than having a break with your riding buddies discussing anything under the sun over a cup of coffee (thanks Red_Harley10 for the coffee break). Well rested and warm'ish stomach, we headed out to taste the real twisties of the Black Spur. It was good timing as we had no traffic ahead of us, it was flowing corners after corners of fun and we took them with gusto. Up and over the Black Spur we reached the fast straights of Narbethong, stopped there for a few photos:

This was our turning point, we had to head back or we end up going around and do the Reefton Spur (that maybe on menu for the next ride).

So we headed back to have another go of the Spurs on the way back, up and down the squiglly twisties and then we stopped at Fernshaw Park at the bottom of the Spurs for another customary photo shoot:

Then after a quick rest we headed on to Woori Yallock for more fast-paced action, crossed the Warburton highway to Emerald via Yellingbo and then more twisties on the way up to Belgrave then down to Ferntree Gully where I had to split-up with Red_Harley10 and Sawanasa*i*i as I have to be home for a family commitment by 6:30pm. As we commute Burwood highway I missed to waved goodbye to both of them but I'm sure Red_Harley10 was aware of it as I told him at the Emerald petrol station about it.
Red_Harley10 should have more photos from his digital camera.
All in all it was a great day, I enjoyed it myself, I hope both of the boys enjoyed it too. Until the next ride folks ... keep it safe.
