i just got my zeus 803 helm from action hobbies (tnx arwin and raquel)... the only thing that is bothering me is, i dont see DOT nor a SNELL sticker on this helm... does anyone have any idea? TIA

no offense to anyone but to check your helmet's certification, go to http://smf.org/ and click on "certified helmets". it's possible that a helmet is approved without the sticker/label. the Snell Memorial Foundation checks em anyway... :D

sir yun din una ko pinuntahan... di ko nakita kaya nagtaka ako... but the thing is that, it is dated 2005... that only means that new helmets may not be on the list yet... IMHO:banana:

mga sir yung sakin zeus 2100, wala din sa site ng snell pero ok lang for me kasi safe na yung helmet ko at sure ako na ECE certified (label sa strap) compare to other helmets... yung index nga lang safe na para sakin ZEUS pa kaya... hehehe makikita din naman sa mga paddings ng helmet kung safe..

zeus 803 is exceeds all safety standards po sir... saka kung nagkaroon ka na ng beanie helmet sa hawak pa lang you can tell the difference ng mabibiyak kasama ulo mo at yung good protection talaga... pads are removable kaya madali malinis and i believe may visors na available po... its a steal for 1900 pesos...

Zeus 805 din po ako. yung cheek pads lang po ba ang removable and washable sa helmet namin??? i tried removing the other pads pero parang nakakatakot kasi baka masira

i think its self certified... kaya nakalagay standards passed... sa tagal ba naman nila nagpapatest sa DOT ay alam na ng manufacturers ang process ng pagawa ng test ng DOT, snell etc. kaya sila sila na mismo nagtetest ng kanilang helmet, yung nga lang gaya nga ng sabi sa website ng snell, very inconsiderate daw sa safety ng mga users ang manufacturers na gumagawa ng self testing..pag dumaan na sa mismong testing ng DOT ang nakalagay na usually ay "DOT approved" or "DOT certified"

DOT Sticker
Helmets that meet FMVSS 218 must have a sticker on the outside back of the helmet with the letters “DOT,” which certifies that the helmet meets or exceeds FMVSS 218. It is important to note that some novelty helmet sellers provide DOT stickers separately for motorcyclists to place on non-complying helmets. Snell or ANSI Label
In addition to the DOT sticker, labels located inside the helmet showing that a helmet meets the standards of private, non-profit organizations such as Snell or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) are good indicators that the helmet also meets the Federal safety standard. To date, we have never seen a novelty helmet that has a phony DOT sticker in addition to a phony Snell or ANSI label.

Manufacturer’s Labeling
Manufacturers are required under FMVSS 218 to place a label on or inside the helmet stating the manufacturer’s name, model, size, month and year of manufacture, construction materials, and owner’s information. A helmet that does not meet the Federal safety standard usually does not have such labeling.

Remember a DOT sticker on the back of the helmet and proper inside labeling do not necessarily indicate that a helmet meets all DOT requirements. Many helmets have counterfeit DOT stickers and a limited few also have manufacturer’s labeling. But the design and weight of a helmet, thickness of the inner liner, and the quality of the chin strap and rivets are extra clues to help distinguish safe helmets from non-complying ones.

got my black zeus 803 yesterday from action hobbies, thank you nga pala kay janel na ok kausap. after some considerations regarding other brands and types(modular) including the travel from kalookan to pasig then to greenhills, me and my friend decided to get the zeus instead because of it's obvious qualities.

Normally naman they would know kung forumer ka or member ka ng MCPF by the way you talk, act, etc. Or just by mentioning it. There are a lot of bikers out there and not all of them are members ng MCPF/MCP, they wouldn't know about this and would not mention it when purchasing from Motoworld or Action Hobbies, so by mentioning it, even just your handle...you may be entitled to a discount. Like what I did when I purchased my gears and helmet. That's our privilege. And the staff are very accommodating. Enjoy and Ride safe
