View Full Version : Is KBC Better than HJC?
ReturnCode7 June 28th, 2006, 05:08 PM After Hours of going online through threads and Traveling to pasay makati fort caloocan and ortigas. Narrowed it down to 3 choices. In order.
1.) Zeus Z-2100 E1 Red( Very Nice design My first Love) php 4,800.00
2.)KBC VR2 Daytona php 6,500.00
3.) HJC CL 14 php 4,800.00
Then I told myself to go for Zeus Z-2100 E1 Red w/ design RED. But the problem is no shop here in the metro has it. :? ... Then they told me that the chances are slim if they will get a new stock for Z-2100 E1 Red.
I ended up with 2 things on my list.
1.)KBC VR2 Daytona php 6,500.00
2.) HJC CL 14 php 4,800.00
Which one should I go for? I've read in the forum somewhere that the KBC is somehow slightly better than HJC. Do you have any comments on this?
OT:
Talking about good looking helmets
Oz Racing is already Selling these ultra cool helmets ( 2 models are available in makati ) S411 php 14k and R132 php 21K OMG! They told me that all airoh helmets are available for ordering w/ down payment of course. 2weeks to process. One problem... Airoh has only ECE 2205 approved Visor, with antiscratch treatment. So its the visor not the helmet? :*
jomonski June 28th, 2006, 05:18 PM bro,
have you tried talking to guys at action hobbies I believe they are the authorized distributor of zeus helmets in the philippines, according to the zeus website, My vote is on the HJC cause I've seen them on motogp, with kbc and zeus i never had a chance to see them at motogp,
by the way are you working at dell manila? do you know any nestor del rosario?
NSCB June 28th, 2006, 05:44 PM haven't tried any KBC helmets yet..though the TK77 is on my wish list...
For the HJC though...these are my personal findings...since i'm using one...
1. it's pretty cool....it has 7 vents.
2. Good finish...
3. Nice interior with removable/washable cheek pads
4. it's a quiet even at high speeds..as long as you dont look sideways
downside is...looks big (but perfect fit)...i can live with it....
skybono June 29th, 2006, 01:14 AM Meron akong KBC at HJC. Parehong maganda sila pero mas lamang
ng tatlong paligo sa akin yung KBC.
grover June 29th, 2006, 08:22 AM KBC manufactures privately labeled helmets such as fox, oneal, thor and harley so they should be good. Just my two cents.

pepe1275 June 30th, 2006, 12:11 AM sir, matt mladin of suzuki wears a kbc and i have tried fitting a kbc vr2 i think it is 2 size smaller than the cl-sp that i have. vr2 is a racing helmet so it is narrower in profile and the vents are waaay smaller than the hjc. their web site states that it is to improve aerodynamics, but on my own opinion for daily use i'll take the cl-sp if you can get one or the cl-14 it has better ventilation than the kbc.
ReturnCode7 July 28th, 2006, 09:56 AM Guys I found a KBC Store near edsa. So from EDSA turn right to GMA7 then it is in front of the caltex station just after the stop light. MJS something yung name. Phone Numbers :929-1186
NSCB July 28th, 2006, 04:03 PM between the KBC Viper (the one in my avatar) and my HJC CL14 Kast...both Medium in size....the HJC is more quiet, but the KBC is lighter...
Wolver888 July 28th, 2006, 05:36 PM KBC helmets are good too ... I got one.

ReturnCode7 September 30th, 2006, 02:44 PM My CL SP (phoenix) got stolen sa Mall of Asia. My fault forgot that paid parking areas has it own class of thieves..... Anyways.... Im planning on Buying a good helmet again. My choices are HJC AC-12 Carbon(18,500) or Airoh TR1 (20k). Which would you prefer.
Im inclined to the HJC carbon but Im not sure if the clear coat on this helmet would last or turn gray someday.:? I saw someones avatar wearing AC 12 carbon any feedback guys???:*

FATNLO October 8th, 2006, 06:56 PM KBC siguro kasi I have an original beanie harley helmet made by them. DOT approved. Nice and fits comfortably.
Dick Steele October 8th, 2006, 10:01 PM I personally dont think one is more superior over the other as long as theyre both DOT & SNELL Certified. Most of the helmets nowadays compete for their styles & design. I like em both if you ask me. But, then again, im an ICON Fan....
Anong store at phone number nila thanks

bro i do also have an HJC cl14 smoke model.. yeah its quiet.. ibig sabihin di masyado naririnig ung hangin na bumabanga sa helmet mo pero rinig mo ung nagsasalita na backride mo.. habang umaandar.. gets mo?? :)
Sa 100kph and up, konti parin ang ingay nung hangin.:)
dark_knight October 30th, 2006, 09:22 PM sir,Made in korea po ang KBC.

Yup, my bad..deleted my post so as not to misinform and create any confusion :) Did you buy one from OZ? How is it? They said it has some minor defects on the graphics that's why it's being sold at a discount...how minor is 'minor'?

They choose the VR2 models. I also tried to fit those helmets ang masasabi ko ay ok ang fit niya at madaming vents all over the helmet maganda for everyday use kasi mainit sa pinas. The graphics is definitely beautiful and contrary to what you've said there is no minor defects. baka naman yung display na nakuha nung mga ibang nakabili. Snell and DOT approved ito kaya best buy talaga.
Gary_Samson October 31st, 2006, 07:31 AM HJC I already tried it's durability. Plus the availability of lens is not so-hard to find.
gpx250r October 31st, 2006, 07:57 AM helmets are always a personal thing if you ask me.
1st make sure it is the right fit (snug, not loose but comfortable, etc.).
2nd assure that it complies with local authority's safety accreditation (stickers w/DOT, SNELL, etc. approval).
3rd pick the colour/graphic design and style that you like.
4th check if it is in your budget.
at the end of the day its your head that matters. to ask which one is better is hard to answer, you'll probably find out when you tested the helmet w/your head in it ... on a crash :(.
just my 2c worth. btw, i wear a hjc fg14 target helmet.
mabuhay po kayong lahat.
Alphaq2 November 17th, 2006, 08:04 PM grabe ang mahal pala ng kbc, akala ko imitation lang ng hjc just like index sa shoei.
jtsikenu January 2nd, 2007, 01:37 PM Havent personally tried HJC's yet.Im using KBC-TK 8 eversince and im very satisfied when it comes to vents and fit.Makakabili ka rin ng different shield colors if you want.
