I HAVE AN EXTRA SMALL HJC CL-12 helmet....it was given to me and I TRY it on...I Think its too tight....it fits but its just tight i think....how tight does a helmet have to be...is there a place where i can trade in this HJC helmet so I can get my right SIZE....oh by the way....im gonna be driving a YAMAHA Xt225....what kind of helmet should I WEAR>

If you take the helmet off and your ears hurt after removing your helmet then its to tight.

helmets are designed to have a snug fit...(useless gumamit ng helmet kung maluwag) there is a feeling of a bit tightness, but there should be no pressure points...

helmet must be comfortable at all times... buy a HJC Full-Face Helmet its the BEST!!! fits perfect..

the more appropriate helmet for your kind of bike (which is an off-road/ motocross type) is of course the off-road/ motocross type helmet. the cl-12 is more suitable for the on-road sports type.
should be a snug fit but should not hurt. you can determine the tightnmess by measuring the circumference of your skull in comparison to the helmet (interior) size indicated somewehere at the back of the helmet usually. if your head size is within the range, it means that it's the right size for you.

the extra small size is usually too tight for adult men though.

i dont really know if you can actually trade helmets. its supposed to have an expiration period because the safetiness wears off in time while being used under the sun and the rain since its a mainly composite plastic material. try exchanging to a fellow rider maybe who's willing to.

okthanks for all the replies...my bike is a dirt bike...but im going to be using it in the streets....and this helmet that I have right now...it kinda squeezes my cheeks when I put it on and when I take it off...top of my head hurt a little bit....i think i need a SMALL Or sumtin...how about u guys...whats the size of ur helmet./..
