Would the people selling them know how to properly wash them?

It would not be safe to admit that the shops know how to care for the items they sell. Most of the time, shop owners employ people who know nothing about their products, but are good at repairs, which is sad as a lot of us have questions about certain items.
I wash my fox mesh with shampoo..the milder the better. but I take the spine/kidney guard off first, as I could wash that more rigorously as it is not made from mesh.

mag lagay ka ng tubig at sabon (tide, breeze, ariel etc) sa isang malaking basin. remove all armors from the jacket. ilublub (dip) mo ang jacket tapos kaunting kusot lang. iahon mo then dip it again. repeat this procedure until you think that the jacket has been cleaned. next dip and rinse in water. then isampay mo na. just let it drip. don't wring it.

i too have komine mesh jk405. remove muna mga ce armors tapos labahan mo like the usual, you can brush or just gently kusot. ang kainis lang dun eh yung pag insert ule ng mga armors, medyo matrabaho, especially yung chest armor.

I thought motorcycle jackets are designed to withstand a crash so they could certainly survive the washing machine so i washed my rstaichi crew mesh jacket in the washing machine (after removing the armor). I did it 2x already and jacket seems to be fine.

this topic is funny... and, so far, seangreen has been the only answer i find agreeable with...

IMHO......if we are going to rely on the manufacturers tag we might find it difficult to do....since i think that the procedure does not apply to all country or region.....i've got two mesh jacket and it didn't said the same procedure in washing......and if you find this thread funny, i guess not all members here have mesh jackets, that is why they are asking for those who have them jacket the proper way to do it.....if we find this thread funny then the administrator should move this to the joke section......just my two cents......peace ! ! !

touchy touchy aren't we...

could it be that the differing manufacturers' instructions reflect the differences in material and construction of the jacket?

i have and have had several textile jackets (komine, teknic, joe rocket, spidi, rs taichi and cortech), mesh and cordura, all their tags reflect what was posted by seangreen. just wondering, which jacket does not say what seangreen has posted???

and yes, i find the discussion funny because the proper way to do it is what's stated in the tag. something wrong with that?

peace, dude. puso mo.

Hmm i wonder what are the "washing" procedures that youre talking about? what does your jacks manual/tag says?

Previous mesh jacks that i had, including the one that i have one right now, has similar washing instructions like what Seangreen posted.

And by the way no need to move the thread as you suggested, just dont mind Boylits "adjectives" next time. :D

your right. that's what's written on the F****** Tag. but if you would read carefully the F****** Tag..those are the DONT'S. i think what's being asked here are the DO's..

oh... seangreen did say that what you posted was correct (and i agree with this part of her reply too.) :)

and, i believe, it also states the DOs like "hand wash", "rinse well", "line dry" and "completely dry before storage"

cheers, dude.

i think... those who don't have a mesh jacket wouldn't ask... coz it wouldn't be of their concern...

my caring gf just wash my arlen ness jacket without removing the body armors..she said it was so dirty after months of summer riding

i didnt make a big fuss about it, after all, she did all d washing anyway and it will be unfair for her to scrutinize her how she washed it...

my kwestyun, is der a possible problem if d "wrong" method of washing is done in our "precious jacket"

after all, wid what bro R-1 said, if it can withsatand a crash as what d manufacturers said, den am sure it can withstand a wrong washing..

am just curious mga bro...

medyo ot: i bought a red mesh jacket because it was d only available size for me,(extra small) is der a way I can turn d color into black?(POOFFFF)
kc if black it will be hard to notice d dirt eh...SO no nid to wash...

how mga bro...am just curious again...

I suggest to wash your jacket yourself, the cleaners might ruin your investment. Read the tag in the collar or behind the pocket of your jacket...if you have a Joe Rocket mesh, read seangreen's post.

Sir,

Wash my jacket with warm water to remove the black oily substance that comes from trikes/jeepneys/buses/trucks exhaust pipes. Also helps eliminate sweat accumulation inside the jacket. I use perla detergent soap to clean my jacket.

So far no problem on the jacket's physical appearance.

I also lay out the insides of my jacket under the sun before and after washing to kill microbes.

I do not recommend my style of washing, but this works well for me, that is what is important. Feeling clean and smelling clean is my primary concern.

Safe ride.

God Bless.
