View Full Version : Nolan Helmets Don Sproule March 20th, 2006, 12:57 PM I am trying to find a Nolan helmet dealer in the Manila area. Failing that, does anyone know of a reputable Nolan dealer in S.E Asia? corexx March 20th, 2006, 05:29 PM there is one in SM cebu, the name of the store is Reliance, located UG floor. whenever im there, i always drop by to look at the helmets. about 80% of their stocked helmets are Nolans. prices, last time i looked, starts at P 9500. Don Sproule March 20th, 2006, 06:50 PM Thanks Corexx. I'll try and contact him and/or put the word out for some of my friends that may be travelling there before me. For convenience and times sake (I'm putting off riding until I find a helmet), I'd still like to hear if anyone knows of a Nolan dealer in Manila. Don. arkitek March 20th, 2006, 08:39 PM Nolan? fisrt time i heard of it. Im using a Zeus. tried ad tested ko na. i figured in a car/motorcycle crash just last sunday. grabe kalabog ulo ko sa pavement. buti na lang matinu ung Z\eus ko. ingat kayo mga bro sa mac arthur highway lalo na sa calumpit. mga ____ mga teenager dun. mag momotor hindi marunung tumingin sa padating na mga sasakyan. tas tatabuhan kapa. safe rude mga bro! Don Sproule March 21st, 2006, 01:54 PM Hi Arkitec, Sorry, my communication skills are limited to English- at this point in time. Although Nolan helmets are proving to be hard to find here ( I own one back in Canada), if you have a chance to examine one, you will find that their quality, fit and finish is hard to beat. I prefer the 'flip-up' style chinbar and have owned a few BMW (Shuberth) brand and quite closely examined several competing brands. The Nolan tends to be more expensive than a Zuess, but in my opinion, much superior in workmanship and materials. On the other hand, they are a lot less money than a BMW or a Shoei. That's why I'm holding out for one. It's starting to look like I may have to bring one in from California. You can argue safety and crash survivability forever, but it's pretty hard to win the arguement unless you have some extensive (expensive) lab testing to reinforce your arguments. The flip up type are rarely , if ever, Snell Foundation approved, so that makes them unsafe ,in some peoples opinion, immediately. I believe they are a fair compromise in this climate, between a full and half coverage helmet. Don Sproule cryptonyt March 21st, 2006, 04:20 PM corexx is right. lots of Nolan helmets at RELIANCE MOTOR Parts in SM Cebu, upper ground floor (just above the food court). prices ranges from PHP9000+ to 30000 i think. maybe you can make contact with any RELIANCE MOTOR outlets in the Manila area if there's any. Hercules March 21st, 2006, 04:51 PM Don Sproule>> No need to go to Cebu for the Nolan Helmets. It's too far for us who lives in Makati. You can find one dealer along Pasong Tamo near SHOPWISE. Name of store OZ RACING. Sorry I don't know thier contact Numbers. Mention my name when you get there. Send me an SMS if you can't find it. 09209134580 botek_racing March 21st, 2006, 10:31 PM pre sa deka alam ko meron Don Sproule March 22nd, 2006, 01:21 PM Thanks for the tip, Herc. I'll run down there this afternoon. I'll let you know how it goes. Don Sproule Hercules March 22nd, 2006, 02:53 PM Don Sproule>> No Problem. Just contact me if you need any more assistance.:) Don Sproule March 22nd, 2006, 03:25 PM Thanks for the tip, Herc. They DO have Nolans there. I had to pay about US$100 more than in the USA and take a color I'd rather not have, but at least I'll be in comfort and (relative) safety now. I mentioned your name to the sales girl and got a blank stare. Maybe she's new. I was out for a rip last night in Makati and I decided to chance it and use my old leather flying cap. Got stopped twice by cops. Had to do some fast talking ( and a bit of creative bullsh*ting) but got out of it. Now I'm legal. Thanks again. I owe you a beer for that. markus_69 March 22nd, 2006, 09:53 PM nolans helmet, this is the first time i heard of this brand...........hhhhhhhmmmmnnnnn pricey.......i'll try to have a look at it. wickedwerkz March 23rd, 2006, 02:09 AM nolan helmet, this is the first time i heard of this brand...........hhhhhhhmmmmnnnnn pricey.......i'll try to have a look at it. pang moto gp quality nyan.. Komento lmang po kapag may Nolan Helmet na ganyan ang price 100% fake. For info guys pinakamababang presyo ng Nolan Helmet is around $260. Swerte nyo na kung makakahanap kayo on online shopping lower than that. Don Sproule March 23rd, 2006, 08:29 AM I'm not sure what KIPS150 is saying in the previous posting, ( I understand English only- unfortunately) but I do see the word 'fake' popping up a lot. I purchased a Nolan N100 from Oz Racing yesterday and can assure everyone it is not a fake. I have owned Nolans for five years in Canada and it's pretty easy to tell the original. For all of you who are unfamiliar with the brand, and may be in the market for a 'flip-up' style helmet, you owe it to yourself to check them out. The quality is very high (Italian made) and , although some may consider them expensive, are a very good value for money spent. Do the comparison to Shoei, Shuberth (BMW), Zuess, HJC etc, and decide for yourself. Herc, don't forget about that beer I owe you. Don Sproule. maxlyn04 March 23rd, 2006, 10:14 AM @sir hec. katabi ba nang OZ racing yung maddog?gustu ko sana dumaan kc eh.ang alam ko lng dun is yung full throttle. tnx po sa advice. Hercules March 23rd, 2006, 10:43 AM Don Sproule>> I am glad you found it. The store is quite new. It opened up only recently. Enjoy your new lid and hope to ride with you soon. Will claim the beer soon ;) (I live in Makati too.....):D Maxlyn04>> Mas malapit sya sa KFC area pa heding towards Buendia direction. bongo March 23rd, 2006, 08:20 PM Komento lmang po kapag may Nolan Helmet na ganyan ang price 100% fake. The Nolan website (http://www.nolan.it/) shows that their lowest priced helmet cost 109 Euro or about 133 dollars w/c is less than 7,000 pesos. Ganon pa man we should inspect whatever we buy pa rin. noelnash March 23rd, 2006, 10:08 PM Its my first time to hear of such a brand too. Unfortunately its way off the budget. Sorry for the Off Topic, But, what is your bike Don? Hope you would want to ride with some of the clubs here in Manila. For all the other who post in this thread, Please post in English in consideration for the thread starter. deptom March 24th, 2006, 12:01 AM Don Sproule>> No need to go to Cebu for the Nolan Helmets. Been looking for one for the past few months even emailed their head office in Italy but no reply. Where are they exactly in Pasong Tamo? If I'm coming from Buendia, is this before Mascardo Street (King's shop)? Hope they have the X-Lite X-1002. Thanks! RS250B March 24th, 2006, 12:05 AM Nice! So we finally have a Nolan dealer here. I have been looking for one for the longest time. :) Thanks herc! Don Sproule March 24th, 2006, 01:28 PM Hi Noel, I recently picked up an '01 Honda 600 Hornet. I have a BMW K1100LT that I left in Canada. It didn't seem to make a lot of sense to have the BMW here. It's too large, heavy, wide and HOT for use in any kind of Manila traffic. Besides, I have something to ride when I go back to Canada for home leave every August. I like to hit the Rally and Races at Sturgis, South Dakota and the Beemer is well suited to that kind of trip. The Honda wasn't my first choice. I was after a nice R650 Dakkar BMW, but they are scarce and seem way overpriced here. The Hornet was too high too, but it was still half the price of some of the BMW singles. I guess I'm spoiled by the low cost of bikes in North America. I haven't been on any rides with any groups yet. I guess that will start to happen soon enough. I know a few Filipinos that belong to a group (don't know what they call themselves- if anything) and I've met some Finns that ride mostly Harleys. Do you have any suggestions? Don Sproule.
