View Full Version : Helmet Type To Choose ????
rjmvirgotaurus March 10th, 2006, 03:31 PM MGA IDOLS YOUR COMMENTS AND ADVISES,
i am planning to buy a full face helmet since i have only half face FM and HJC open face helmet. I have check with motorcycle shop and my choice is ZEUS HELMET since the price is affordable like the model 990 which cost only PHP2000, pero parang i want to take ung model 508W (modular) which is PHP4,500. ask ko lang what are the advantage and disadvantages between this two type of helmet. ung bang modular ay walang tendency na bumuka in case of accident. considering the price range ung bang model 990 will be good alternative choice. I know HJC is a better one but the price is quite madugo from the pocket. :? :C ;)

Speaking of level of protection:
Full-face helmets provides maximum protection in case of accidents.,
Second ang Modular, then Half-face, then open face.., baseball helmets (joke lang po sa baseball :D )
Now you choose

parang mali parin pero never the price of your head.
back to the topic... mag CL14 ka nalang na hjc sir... affordable pero alam mong safe ulo mo. got one 2 weeks ago to replace my generic modular. kung modular trip mo, OK ang zeus... actually, mas gusto ko nun kaya lang di enough pera ko na ipon eh.

Gary_Samson March 10th, 2006, 11:36 PM All this years I have been using HJC. I bought a Zeus (508) and went back to using HJC. I bought a Caberg (brutus) and ended up going back to HJC. I (take note) I feel safer with HJCs fit. Just sharing what I feel. For me, a little money is not an issue when it comes to safety. Speaking for myself, sana walang kokontra. Ride safe! Happy helmet hunting!!!

Brother, you should consider too if the helmet is really snug fit. So it should be snug fit and a DOT and or SNELL certified helmet. Standard helmets like (HJC CL-14) has better protection than a modular or flip-up helmets (like HJC Symax).
I think even if a helmet is cheap (price) it should be (again) snug fit and certified (genuinely certified), quality, and comfortable fit and comfortable to use. I said 'genuinely' because there are helmets or fake helmets that have DOT stickers. Beware of these kinds of fake helmets. If the 990 model of Zeus is snug fit and it is DOT certified I think buy it. You save money, but it is still a safety helmet even it is cheaper in price. Dapat ngayon we should be pratical.
In short (again), you should choose a snug fit (comfort fit and comfort to use) and a safety helmet.
froilanr March 20th, 2006, 12:19 PM By the way (pahabol lang), before you buy a helmet, you should first measure your head circumference by using a 'medida'. So that you can determine exactly the size of your head. After that you choose which has the exact size helmet you want to buy.
For example, the size of my head circumference is 57 to 58 cm. or medium size for HJC. The reason why I stick with HJC because it is snug fit (hindi MALUWANG at hindi MAHIGPIT or tamang-tama lang talaga ang fit), kaya hindi masakit sa ulo, at mukha, or sa madalit salita 'comfort fit' talaga ito sa akin. Also it is a lot cheaper compare it to other well known brands na helmet that is why I choose it.:)
There are people that bought helmets especially those are new users of motorbikes whose helmets he/she is using is not really snug fit. Kaya napaka-important ang pag-properly fit. When you arrive to the store huwag kang mahiyang mag-fit (kahit matagal) basta ang importante ay talagang comfortable ka sa pag-gamit nito in the end.
NOTE:
Kung kasing hindi siya properly fit ay kung in case of accident ito ay lalabas or malalaglag sa ulo mo at hindi ma-se-serve properly ang protection.
Hope these helps.:)

last week i bought an HJC helmet CL12. it is DOT and SNELL certified. it is snug fit and i have use it on last sunday ride sa caliraya. so far it comfortable to use kaya lang naninibago ako since sanay ako sa half face and open face helmet, but since it is a mandatory requirement in our MC club to wear a full face helmet during group tour, i have no choice but to buy a new one. thanks for all the comments and views it is really an education you have share mga brod.

for HJC helmet the exclusive distributor is Triump JT marketing corp. pinakamalapit sa makati is Taft "JT" bikes 1934 taft ave, malate, manila. tel 5362833,5365836 or sa 136 west ave, QC tel 9206261/9206262 malapit lang sa paramount bldg on your left side when you are going to quezon ave. duon ako nakabili last week ng CL 12 for PHP3040 kasi sale ito kaya may 20% discount. ung latest model ng CL 12 ung strap niya hindi na iyong quick release but you have to insert the strap sa ring and full it. happy hunting for a good helmet. :) :s :L
markus_69 March 22nd, 2006, 10:09 PM recomended ng cousin ko skin cl14 na hjc......kaya lang kulang pa budget ko kya nag nippon ako..........i'll be buying hjc soon.....
Wesley_martin March 24th, 2006, 07:30 AM then that's a good choice to make sir.. I just notice most of the riders use HJC brand?. anyway can't blame them for the satisfaction and comfort that they have attain in using the said great helmet.. Same experience that I have..  :) :*
At siempre better buy a helmet that meets or exceeds DOT and or SNELL standards.

KIPS150 March 27th, 2006, 03:53 AM Justissimo ba? Tulad nito? I need to protect my head kaya dito ako nagdepende sa quality. Purchased these online shopping one for me and my wife. Around 9K lang sa italy plus 4k on shipment.
biatchikus March 28th, 2006, 08:46 AM thank you sirs. pwede mag order online? pag isipan ko yan mukang ok ang caberg eh.:s
Bushido April 1st, 2006, 06:55 AM although alam ko na mas safer talaga ang full face, i have never owned a full face bcause i use eyeglasses and its just a pain to wear glasses with it. not to mention ang init. ang init talaga. all i have are open faced ones at kung may kalayuan ang ride, i use a wind shield with it.
i wonder how other guys with glasses cope with this situation. comments naman mga eyeglass-wearing bosings. :)
