I'm just curios what's the most common practice with visor when it rains. It rained this morning and I noticed that most motorcyclists raise their visor and some wear clear sunglasses/eyeglasses. Do visors even if clean obstruct the view when it rains?

I hope your answers will make a consensus what bikers do in this situation. :C

of course. without visors, rain would get into your eyes and is definitely not a good thing. Visors are easier to wipe than eyeglasses. If the temp outside is cold and causes the visor to fog, i just lift it for about half an inch to let fresh air in and remove the fogging.

Yes tama ka bandit. Eyeglasses are difficult to clean while riding. Since visors doesn't have wipers (hehhe), I'll just make sure it's very clean (learnt how to do it sa Chemistry), and have a piece of cloth ready the moment it gets dirty.

Thanks!

kasi rain-X is designed for glass windshields. our visors are plastic, kaya not that effective retention of the rain-X.

Another technique to do when its raining (light rain), and you are going at a brisk pace, is to twist your head from left to right and let the wind brush off excess water on your visor. when it is pouring heavily, of course you WILL slow down for safety. just by slowing down will help your visibility since things won't be a blur anymore. :)

Mashimaro is correct, on a good helmet, just twist your head a bit to one side and the wind should blow off the droplets. If it doesnt, its time to change your visor. :D

Thanks to all, kuha ko na what to do when it rains. Have a very clean visor so that the rain will just flow and not bead; slow down so that raindrops come at you from the top and not from straight ahead; have clean cloth ready if mud gets into the visor; open the visor a little to let out steam. Yesss!! Marami na akong natutonan. Thanks!
