thebat December 30th, 2005, 01:44 PM This is a follow up to the helmet thread...
Which is to your experience and knowledge the best hi end helmets you can buy in manila?
Shoei, Arai, Suomy, etc?
taba December 31st, 2005, 03:13 AM I saw Arai and Shoie at Minerva, Rizal Avenue at Caloocan this morning. They have quite some selestion.... Also Suomy at Action Plus or I read it TA trading on their signage, I believe they have almost all designs for the helmet of Soumy since the sales lady showed me the catalog and all the model I asked about, they said they had it in stock.... BTW i was simply browsing for solid colored designs....
foxyface December 31st, 2005, 01:06 PM Sir malamang yung certain:S Synchrotec model ng Shoei in Caloocan. Haven't tried it, but for a pricetag of Php28,000.00, man, it should perform well!

BMW helmets (made by schuberth) without any doubt.
Not cheap though, not cheap at all
thebat January 1st, 2006, 02:48 PM mukang ok nga raw AGV. nasa 16k price range which is ok. mas ok pa ba ang Shoei and Arai (18-30k price range)? ok din sana yung BMW kaya lang pag di BMW bike mo parang di ata swak.

merong agv that cost mga P45k,yun yung top of the range nila...yung design and color kasi ng agv di nakakasawang tingnan kahit lumang design.about shoei and arai mga japanese made cla.ok din naman ang quality. depende lang sa taste mo. yung iba, gusto ng italian brand, yung iba hapon..
tsek mo rin yung simpson brand ang lufet ng design.eto yung madalas na ine-airbrush dito...two colors yung available dito, white and black. mga P32-36k ang price nun dito.
taba January 1st, 2006, 06:11 PM what stores carry agv helmets?
VALENTINO PONZ January 1st, 2006, 09:56 PM mga pards ang mamahal pala helmet dyan sa atin, yung replica ng helmet ni rossi Agv is $2,600 lang hk,17.500 sa peso.
act2000 January 3rd, 2006, 05:30 AM At 2600 HkD. It turns out to be somewhere close to 20k
You can have a rossi look alike here for only 14.7k
the bat -- active moto at market market has agv helmets available.
thebat January 5th, 2006, 08:54 AM ARAI helmets? saan nakakabili? went to caloocan sales yesterday pero parang di magaganda designs.
mike_the_grouch January 7th, 2006, 01:11 PM it really depends on the model of the helmet yunt price ng mga rossi replica. naka sale sa ultra bikes sa may pasong tamo yung rossi replica nila for 7.5k. same color and graphics, lower model lang yata. yung actaul replica mga $600+ pero pareho tlaga yung model kay rossi
i got my AGV for P6800 ok naman na siya. i read somewhere sa www.motorcyclistonline.com na di mo naman kailangan ng super-mahal na helmet to actually save your life. you don't even need a snell certified helmet daw, DOT will do the job. masyadong strict daw kasi yung test ng snell, they will crash teh helmet at 200G at the same place in the helmet. eh sa actual accident naman daw, very rare daw yun.
nagakakaiba nalang yung mga helmet dun sa mga vents, wind noise, pads etc. masyado lang tlgang brand concious tayong mga pinoy, we always think na mas mahal, mas ok. it's not always the case.

mashimaro February 28th, 2006, 08:17 AM FYI lang mga bros... Ace Hardware in Greenhills Virra Mall is selling FAKE Shoei helmets.
From afar they look like genuine Shoei helmets. But paglapit ko, peke at ang panget. I asked the saleslady if these were genuine Shoei and she confirmed that they were not. So I told her "Dapat hindi kayo nagbebenta nang mga peke - respected store kayo tapos bebenta kayo nang peke." The saleslady ofcourse couldn't say anything.
Maybe I should right a letter to their managment. I don't like the idea of people messing with safety gear - especially helmets. Just to earn a quick buck and fool some people to make a profit, they will go down to the level of selling below-standard helmets, deceiving the public and endangering the lives of the riders who will buy these helmets.
That is really BU**S**T as far as I'm concerned.
thebat February 28th, 2006, 12:47 PM i also saw those SHOEI helmet at ACE hardware viramall. from the outside window view i already noticed those are fakes so i didn't bother to look inside.
well you're right MASHIMARO, dapat di sila nagbebenta ng fake because they are ACE hardware a reputable hardware store (my favorite tambayan sa mall actually).
pls go on and write them a letter and maybe all of us here in MCP could sign in our name as well.

if you are buying a AGV helmet, make sure you get the Ti-tech version:)
fireblade_r March 11th, 2006, 12:32 PM I would go for a SUOMY. It is so far the best helmet I've own and worn. It's one if not the lightest in the market and very stylish too. unless of course you are a fan of Rossi, you will go for AGV. But quality wise, its worth every peso that you will spend.
I have this one for more than 2 years, and i'm planning to get a new one, but still SUOMY...

act2000 March 14th, 2006, 12:05 AM Agv ti-tech will come out with a white zoo design -- its inspired by rossi.
Limited edition -- only 1500 helmets made.
all helmets will be numbered and will come with a specially designed box.
they will also include an authenticated signature of valentino rossi.
How cool is that.
Price will be around 50000 pesos.

garrygnu March 15th, 2006, 05:08 AM Sir, san sa market market mahahanap yung shop that is selling suomy helmets? How much ba helmets? thanks!:)
maligno March 15th, 2006, 05:36 AM ok din ba AVG?
my apologies...first up its not AVG its AGV
a quick answer to your ignorance, yes AGV is "ok".
long answer...AGV is more than ok...it is the helmet brand used by 7 time motogp world champion valentino rossi.
AGV helmets are highly durable and dependable regardless of the cost, though the thread is about high end helmets. its funny that AGV was not included...
my helmet brand this moment is AGV and given the right time i will purchase another, perhaps a rossi replica.
i'm sure this helps if not much.

SilverShadow March 24th, 2006, 11:59 AM Ito po ang gamit kong helmet ngayon...ESSENZIALE by MOMO DESIGN. 18 to 35K price nila. Medyo mahal dahil hand made in Italy at needlecrafted by hand ang finish nito. Underlicense and may royalty fee silang binabayaran, kaya mahal ang helmet nila. Mainly fashion helmet ito pero ECE 22-05 standard approval naman.
PM me if interested. Indent order basis only, I don't have any showroom :*
