Hi to all members

I have just learned to use a scooter almost 3 weeks now. It has been very enjoyable to use going to and from my home to my parent's house and on occassion to deliver some papers to my clients. However, I have encountered those occassional passing showers and have had to pull over in gas stations to avoid getting wet. Once I got drenched. :(

I would like to ask what type of raincoat you would recommend? There is the 2 separate pieces: (Jacket and pants). Or the one piece poncho type: the one that looks like a tent. Pls advise on pro and con of each and how you store it afterwards when still wet. Thanks in advance would really like to learn from your experiences..

I have two raincoats (jacket and pants):
My first raincoat (cost is about P200.00 only). It is cheap but the rain can easily go inside my shirts when it is heavy rain.

The second raincoat (Dry Rider ang tatak) I bought was P700.00. It is really designed for motorcycle riders. Even when heavy rains, I am still dry inside.:)

By the way both raincoats are color yellow for added safety on the roads from other vehicles.

Reminder, don't forget to buy a shoes for rainy days or rain. I bought mine for P5,000.00.:(. Napasubo akong bumili I think, pero when heavy rains or rain comes, my feet are still dry when I arrived at home.:D

Pinupunas ko muna before storing or hang ko muna para mapatuyo, then store it.

Hi Froilan

Thanks for your reply am interested in the Dry Rider. Could I ask where you bought it? Why were the shoes you bought so expensive is it made for motorcycling only? or is it a casual shoe brand na waterproof?

I think hindi laging available ito locally and it is an imported raincoat kasi.

From my readings, I think the best wear for a motorcycle for any weather are: white or light colored full-face helmet with no-fog visor; 1mm breatheable leather jacket; leather or otherwise rain pants; high cut good traction shoes or boots. Light colored helmets reflect the sun keeping your head cool; thick leather jacket protects your skin in case of falls; a breatheable jacket is composed of two sections the top portion overlapping the lower thus releasing body heat; and high cut shoes protects your ankle from burns. Your rain pants should overlap your boots and your jacket collar should be under your helmet. Hindi kana mababasa at cool pa. Raincoat is no no. You may not get wet from the rain but you'll get wet from perspiration from body heat buildup. Ponchos flap also.
