mga braders, i'll be working on a new data mining project (cross-platform) involving oracle as the source db that is running on linux , vb apps to process millions of records, and result should be formatted in a way that cognos can recognize (imr file).

my question is, would it be better to use other outfile file formats such as csv, html, and the likes? i'm a bit skeptical about the idea of creating an impromptu file. kindly include the pros and cons.
