Anyone here installed a digital TERMOMETER or Digital TEMPERATURE gauge on their MC........i am wondering whats the normal temperature of our engines........

NO ANALOG PLS.....its outdated......technology been upgraded...he he he

here are an example schematics and what i am trying to build right now.....after the digital tacho, then the digital instrument display....eg..multipurpose changeable display like fuel reserve indicator, battery charge indicator, etc...now i am trying to build this.......

heres the schema..........

IMHO

In my previous suzuki sport bike, 78c would be my temperature if I'm going above 120kph in 3rd gear. In city traffic, the temp can go to 105c even if I'm moving. The auxillary fan kicks in at this temp. The highest temp I ever experienced was 108c in mid day heavy traffic stuck somewhere in edsa. The manual says to stop the bike and let it idle if the temp goes to 120c. If it goes to 140c, it says to turn off the engine.

Sir Leinahtan saan mo balak ilagay yung sensor para makuha yung temp ng makina?

sa loob ng makina......putting a metal sensor and just calibrate it during run at high speed over rev situation......

Di yung sensor ng water temperature ng kotse...since air cooled MC natin right.....so bale sa oil temperature tayo mag base.......we only need to calibrate the circuit for the maximum temperature our oil can handle....of course water and oil temperature differs a lot......in terms of boiling time.....

You said that you have a digital temperature meter.......GOOD FOR YOU....but since nilagyan mo ng wire yung sensor......of course may possibility na reading error yan because of the resistance of the wire and thats critical in terms of reading......perhaps you have some knowledge about it.......CARRY ON

yup i know that...but this one sense the oil temperature since air cooled dont have radiator......nice idea though....thanks...

More PRE testing.....like what i did to the TACHOMETER...it didnt failed me...hopefully this will be test when PSRC have a group ride at long trip.....want to know the highest temperature of the engine at EXTREME course.......

i made an improvised washer from an aluminum tube simila to those in antennas, epoxied the sensor insied the tube then made the end to look like a washer, parang ground terminal lug. the washer is then installed on one of the bolts on the head, find one accessible and easy to remove. In this case what you meaure is actual head temp instead of water or oil(afterall we're protecting the engine head not the oil). convertion is direct , example 456 is equal to 45.6 degrees celcius. in the pics is 693 or 69.3c. that was my temp after parking. this is very useful since i can monitor my temps when im in traffic and cruising, the highest i reach was 104 when i got stuck in traffic for almost 15min, but after moving it drops down to 69 to 80.

you have a replacement IC for PIC16F872 at alexan. You can use PIC16F877, you just have to make sure that you place it on the same ports. Though I find it useless to share this for there's no code provided. So, even if you find a PIC16F872, it WILL not work without the code

dalubhasa501

too risky to use a replacement, the replacement ic is 320pesos and not sure if it will work, the cheap dmm is 320 also so i settled for this one.
