View Full Version : question bout full battle gear!
i have red xrm, zeus(black helmet),komine mesh jacket full padding, joe racket gloves(high cut),back protector and komine knee pad.ok lng ba for me mag suot nang ganun for my evry day trip from manila to alabang, work and home.kc baka may mga naaangasan sakin sa daan eh,ayaw ko sana maging ganun.ang sakin lang naman,d kc natin masasabi ang disgrasya.kaya kahit going to work sinusuot ko sia,d lang pang long rides.
Remember ATGATT (All The Gear, All The Time), para sa iyong kalusugan at PEACE of MIND ng iyong mga minamahal.
PS. Ako din nakafullbattlegear, hindi ka nag-iisa.
d'ocho October 18th, 2005, 03:11 PM sir...ganyan din ang feeling ko pag naka gear ako my ride is a raider 125...everyday ride from Taytay to Cubao...para sakin kung mas komportable ka sa ganyang kasuotan bakit ka mahihiya sa iba...pinapakita mo lang naman na responsible rider ka you always follow safety at pinapahalagahan mo ang sarili mo.....so theres no reason to think na baka maangasan ang ibang riders sayo although hindi natin maiiwasan ung ganung mga tao pero its ur own safety at medyo malayo at delikado din naman ang dinadaanan mo sir kaya....be urself na lang dont minde others na mangungutya sayo baka wala lang silang pambili ng gamit mo for ur own safety....IMHO!!...
God SPeed Bro
geraldo3 October 18th, 2005, 03:15 PM its ur safety which counts most ... disregard mo na iisipin ng iba ... katawan ba nila masasaktan ? ;) its a cliche .. but still works "better safe than sorry"
:bouncy: Ignore them all ride safe :* :bouncy:
DaVinz October 18th, 2005, 03:37 PM don't think of what other people will say, safety always comes first ;)
Ishanshade October 18th, 2005, 03:47 PM Better safe than sorry bro. Masakit tumama ang tuhod and elbows when you fall believe me. I was thankful for my helmet when I fell and regreted that I dont have the protection for my legs and body.
We are not trying to please them. We are teaching them to ride responsibly and being a good example. Im planning to buy the scoyco gear for the elbow and legs add to that a good padded jacket. Its better to invest in safety rather than the looks of the bike.
Astig nga dating ng bike mo or in na in ka nga sa rider pero pag nahulog ka at nagkabalibali ang katawan mo all they would say is ayan kasi di nagiingat. At least in having a complete battle gear mas mataas ang safety factor natin.
I guess same should be true about bikes. The only problem is baligtad lagi magisip ang mga Pilipino. Riding without helmets make them feel macho. Especially Policemen and MMDA.
Brian dungo October 18th, 2005, 05:07 PM ako nga black na ganito minsan suot ko w my Black Super 4. Armor talaga. People stare and i dont care. armor will protect my whole torso in case of a crash. I used it last week sa EB ng CB riders club.
fedaplus October 18th, 2005, 05:15 PM AMEN to all of your replies ride buddies...:punk:
It just shows how responsible riders we are...
I myself just can't imagine who those MORONS think they are when they ride their bikes WITHOUT any protective equipment and yet they ride as if they are "invincible" to any accident (swerving in and out of traffic, risky overtaking, etc.)...
hope they (don't) learn their lesson the hard way...:>

In my opinion bro, Isa kang responsible rider when it comes to your own safety. tsaka mas igagalang ka ng ibang motorist kasi nakikita nilang naka safety gears ka.
Wesley_martin October 18th, 2005, 07:28 PM AMEN to all replies.. Count me in... safe riding to all..

gilemee October 19th, 2005, 06:18 AM Wish I had the same patience as you do to wear all my gear. Normally I just use back protector, gloves and helmet for everyday, and wear all my gear during weekends.
I believe your a more responsible rider to wear all your gear everyday. Dont mind what everyone else thinks, as long as your comfortable with what you wear! Safe ride!
:punk:
ty ulit
:punk:

sir, to answer your question po...
In my opinion, Kelangan nyong tanggalin yung knee pads/or knee sliders pag asa luob na kayo ng mall dahil:
DawnRipper October 19th, 2005, 11:01 AM the brothers said it all :D
jackhammer October 19th, 2005, 11:38 AM my take... lahat ng gear ko sa signature ko suot ko everyday... to and from work. yan ang gear ko sa rides... and lahat din yan suot ko pagpunta sa office and back. it's your money, it's your safety, it's your life. ala sila pakialam dun! :punk:
sa malls naman... if possible tanggalin mo and ilagay sa compartment ng bike or backpack yung elbow and knee/shin pads. or perhaps sa loob ng baggy pants and jacket. kung ala pa rin... it's really up to you how you'd carry yourself & your gear.
it's inappropriate to some... pero it is also a free country. saka with purpose naman pagsuot mo ng gear kasi you did ride your bike to the mall... which dapat talaga safety ang primary concern when doing so... it just so happens you had nothing to stash your gear in. yun lang yun. if people around you don't approve... well you won't die because of their unapproving stares. wag mo na lang pansinin. people are like that... even us at times to others. kakulangan lang ng kaalaman yan o pangunawa... w/c in the eyes the those who matter is not your fault... but theirs.
what's bad is wearing your full safety gear when nag-auto ka papunta... or worse, namasahero... helmet and all. :S  :M
dexterlab October 19th, 2005, 12:21 PM i wear my jp phoenix, komine knuckled gloves, hjc helmet

bro, jic you happen to run into a 5'11" guy lugging around an hjc helmet, a black rstaichi jacket & w/ his fox knee/shin guards still wrapped around the legs of his slightly fit blue jeans while roaming around sm city north edsa... chances are its me.
kakapagod na rin kasi magdala ng bag. and you're right! mahirap humanap ng maliit na bag na kakasya yung gear na yun. so might as well wear it.
maxlyn04 October 19th, 2005, 06:57 PM thats cool
bandit October 19th, 2005, 07:13 PM wag mong intindihin ang sinasabi nila...as the saying goes
"Mind over Matter....If you don't mind, it does not matter"
and you can also put the knee pads under your pants, just wear long socks underneath so it won't become itchy after a long ride.

I totally agree with Jackhammer!
In my case, I always make sure that I wear all my safety gears (helmet, protective jacket, knuckled gloves, and knee & shin pads) whenever I use my scooter once a week be it a very short ride or a long ride. Ok lang sa akin kahit pinagtitinginan ako ng mga tao kasi i find it "cool" dahil kakaiba ang dating ko sa kanila.. even after our every saturday group meetings e ako ata lagi ang nahuhuli sa pag mount ng scoot ko dahil sa dami ng suot ko, but its ok kasi I feel very safe with my gears.
With regards to Ubone riders wearing full safety gears, mataas ang respeto ko sa kanila because I feel that they are better disciplined than most ubone riders I see. I hate it when I see riders (in general) who don't wear their helmets or those who don't wear them correctly as if they are all invincible.
I beleive that we should be responsible in promoting rider safety awareness all the time and the best way to show it is by our own example.

dax88888888 October 21st, 2005, 07:02 PM I live near the Mandaluyong City Hall and work at the corner of Buendia and Ayala and nowadays use a green SYM Jet scoot to work due to high gasoline prices and parking fees. It’s normally a few minutes drive to work but I make sure that I always wear my safety gear whenever I’m on two-wheels. These include the ff: helmet, riding gloves with knuckle protection, spine protector with kidney belt, elbow & knee with shin guard armor. (I find my armored mesh jacket too hot at times and would rather take my time putting on all these than being dripping wet with sweat by the time I get to my destination.)
I don’t really mind people staring as I know I’m setting a good example to others, setting a trend as well as being prepared for any untoward incident.
I spent a huge chunk of my salary for protection and it’s not going to be of any help to me if I leave it at home.
When I first thought about buying safety gears the very day I got my scoot. I decided that despite my ride being only a scoot, I need protection just like any other biker. Accidents do happen and we just have to be prepared when they do. I’d rather spend that much money because I know that that’s just a fraction of the medical expenses if something should happen to me riding my scoot. Also, I make sure that before moving an inch on my two wheels, my helmet is fastened and every gear correctly positioned to serve it’s purpose.
If you think wearing safety gears is right and you come across someone who follows the same practice, give a two thumbs-up to show your appreciation.

sir, just put it this way... whether pocketbike, bicycle, scoot, u-bone or bigbike... it's the speed that greatly influences the degree or extent of injury of a fallen rider.
konti lang ang pagkakaiba ng semplang ng pocketbike running at 50kph and an xrm doing 50kph... or ang raider running 150kph and a hayabusa at 150kph... parehong masakit yun... and at times... fatal.
after the bike, our skill and good luck, our gear is our last defense against a fall.
so pls. lang po... ride protected... always. :C
