View Full Version : interested with bigboy
iC3 October 5th, 2005, 02:42 AM hi everyone! im just a newbie here sa forum, just wanted to ask you guys about sinski bigboy coz i'm really interested with this bike.
here are some of my queries :
1.how high/low are my chances of getting a lemon unit out of sinski???
2.have their products improve over the years???
3.how reliable are sinski scooters???
4.d ba sila masikit sa ulo without the aftermarket parts???
5.can i modify the unit with japan aftermarket parts???
tnx in advance hope to hear from u guys :s
john_mkt October 5th, 2005, 04:05 AM Hi! welcome to MCP:)
i had the same questions when i started looking a reliable scooter. but reading thru all the thread i was able to decide to get a BigBoy.
1. i think you would never know if youll get one. if you do, dont worry its under warranty.
2. it seems they did, they came out with a 2nd version of the BigBoy but minor modifications on the look only, that only means they are continuing to improve thier products.
3. many can testify on this.
4. the stock parts itself is good, youll only need aftermarket parts if youll use it for racing.
5. this i havnt done yet. but you can use parts compatible with the same engine type.
hope this helps. goodluck on hunting for your scoot.
iC3 October 6th, 2005, 02:57 AM tnx sir john_mkt for your reply. :s
wingshadow October 6th, 2005, 10:05 PM Sinski Bigboy a.k.a. XSJ150T-11 :g
Since its a china made scut, I myself have doubts about getting it
but after reading all the threads here about this BB scut.
I really pushed my dad to buy me one. :s
They said china made scuts have improved compared to the ones
they are selling before. Dun sa dealer na nakuhaan ko, sa lahat ng
binebenta nyang mga motor (scut at motor) pinakaKonti ang
customer na may reklamo about their BB. Even the dealer himself
owns one (side mirror lng mods nya). ^_^
Ako naman, my problem w/ my 2 day old BB... I've given it a scratch
yesterday after accidentally stopping on an uneven surface
then unable to bring the balance back because of it's weight,
nananakit pa kasi muscles sa arms ko after exercise
kaya ayun tumba tuloy sya, wawa BB. :m T_T
kung di problem ang weight sayu, ok sya kaso medyo makalog
nga lang yung rear shocks (palitan mo nlang if ever). hehehe
Good luck sa decision mo ^_^

iC here are my unbiased inputs (based on being a Big Boy owner last 2003)
1. Answer to your question: There is a big chance around 80% that you might get a lemon unit.
2. Yes their products improved (a little )
3. Yes they are reliable scoot provided that you have to be very very observant on the scoot, at least monthly you have to check it every now and then.
4. As for my experience sakit ng ulo occurs when it comes to 3 months and pataas....It is a must that you have to buy an aftermarket parts why because you can buy the parts per piece for example for the clutch, you can buy the clutch alone you have to by the whole set which costs around 2,000+
5. Yes you can modify it with japan aftermarket parts.

reekee98 October 10th, 2005, 01:51 PM If you're not newbie i suggest you break it hard so you can get the best topspeed for your BB....Some BB owners who use this technique have reached the 100kph tops....

Congrats Markymac! Ganyan din ako noon. First time I saw the BB, na attract agad ako. Kaya lang I had difficulties convincing my wife. Kasi my wife and my sisters are very much againsts motorcyles. But in the end, I won. Ingatan mo lang sa mga lubak ang BB mo. 1 cause I knew kung bakit umingay ang muffler ko, at na sira ang air cleaner ko. Pero kahit ano pang sabihin nila, Im still very happy with my BB. Hope to see you soon bro. Ride safely...

JonT November 21st, 2005, 01:40 PM bigboys,
i am about to place an order for a bigboy.. but i'm a bit confused bcoz some former bb owners were not really satisfied with the bb...
is it bcuz they got a 'lemon' unit? maintenance issues? too much tinkering with the skut? i would really want to know.
the dealer is giving me a 6 month warranty on the bike. is this enough? will all the defects surface w/in the time period?
my main concern is dependability.. i will use the skut everyday, rain or shine.. and will maintain the skut stock as possible (upgrade on brakes, belts, oil, instruments, maybe a tach, lagyan ng mga ilaw sa ilalim, he he he). i don't expect to ride it up to 110kph...
all inputs are welcome.
thanks for all the help guys!

bro, i just wanted to say my piece on these issues.. i hope you guys don't mind...
i am about to place an order for a bigboy.. but i'm a bit confused bcoz some former bb owners were not really satisfied with the bb...
it would really depend on who owns the bb..some bb owners were not really satisfied maybe because they overestimated the bb.. some could have expected the bb to be a very fast scoot... some could have gotten a bb but planned to use it as a learning bike first, but could have their minds set in buying an upgrade scoot or maybe a bigbike in the end... some could have wanted to use it to race other scooters or underbones in the streets... unfortunately, they could have set their expectations too high for the bb..
is it bcuz they got a 'lemon' unit? maintenance issues? too much tinkering with the skut? i would really want to know...
it is really very difficult to determine if they are going to hand you over a 'lemon' unit or not.. this also happens to cars with popular brand names.. i guess too much tinkering with your scoot specially with the engine will not do you any good, unless you have a lot of money to spend for 'trial and error'..
the dealer is giving me a 6 month warranty on the bike. is this enough? will all the defects surface w/in the time period?
6 months warranty i think is a standard for china made scooter brands.. no, this is not enough if you plan to abuse your scoot.. if it is a 'lemon' scoot, then all the defects might come out within this time frame... if not, well.. it would just be another good old plain wear and tear which is really inevitable..
my main concern is dependability.. i will use the skut everyday, rain or shine.. and will maintain the skut stock as possible (upgrade on brakes, belts, oil, instruments, maybe a tach, lagyan ng mga ilaw sa ilalim, he he he). i don't expect to ride it up to 110kph...
your concern about dependability will rely on how you take proper care of your scoot.. if you treat it well then it will also treat you well.. proper preventive maintenance would always play as the key factor in the dependability of your ride.. whether it be a china bike, japanese bike, or even a car for that matter.. you still can upgrade if you wish but don't blame the scoot.. probably, aesthetic changes would be better for your scoot...yes, you better not ride your bb up to 110kph or else even your life would also be in jeopardy.. always remember to ride safely with your proper gears..
all inputs are welcome.
i really can't pass up this opportunity to give my two cents worth of advice.. i hope i was able to be of help to you brother..
thanks for all the help guys!
you're very much welcome sir!! godbless and have a safe ride always!!

markus_69 November 21st, 2005, 09:08 PM just want to share my opinion regarding bb, never had an interest for a mc or skuter but when i saw the bb, it was a love at first sight, i bought one right away, i've been riding it for almost 2 months now, never had any regrets with this skut.................. i 'm really satisfied with the performance and sobrang astig ang dating, dagdag pogi points tlaga pag naka ride kana.................................................... ride safe AIR buddies.

Reactions from current big boy owners are expected already. I don't know how do you define maintenance....Monthly I have to go to mechanic to make my former Big Boy in tip top shape while my current Topboy maintenance is only every 3 months considering it's model 2002....which is economical...monthly or every 3 months maintenanace. By the way san mo na ba na long ride ang Big Boy mo:bouncy:
