I'm planning to buy a flip-up type helmet and would like to seek your comments based from your knowledge or experience.

Most reviews was of the Zeus 508W brand and haven't read anything about the HJC Symax.

Did anyone here made a comparative review of the two brands already? What I heard is that the HJC is two times the price of the Zeus. What about other considerations?

Hi, i am using both helmets one for long rides and one for everyday use. Both has excellent quality but of course HJC being a known brand ata between the two it has a higher price. both has good ventilation.

Comment ko lang sa Zeus e grabe ang windnoise.
Comment for the HJC, there is still windnoise however very tolerable.

my comments are based on my use of the two products. in the end you will make the decision which of the two you'll get.

my 2 cents...

a fellow rider prefers HJC as his lid. before, Symax gamit nya... and i think he's quite satisfied with it.

last saturday, our group went to our house and he was wearing a brand new AC-11, also from HJC.

another one of our riders can attest first hand he owes his noodles to one of HJC's full-face helmets... the CL-12. yun naman based on his story para syang missile na tumama sa poste. and he was able to live and tell about his accident.

as for zeus... no feedback bro. nega lang on the face shield... something bout it's screws.

both symax and 508w passed ece r22-05 and DOT... so i guess safety-wise, comparable yung 2 lids. mas maganda sana kung snell, imho, pero i read somewhere that if it did pass snell it would only be for an open-face helmet... not snell's standards for full-faced ones.

my take on this, if price is an issue go for zeus... otherwise, hjc ka... kasi ako rin hjc smoke naman gamit ko. and am also planning to get a 2nd helmet... and hjc pa rin ito. hopefully, next month.

skin 508w-x1,ok's nman sya except foggy sya pag tinkbo sa malakas na ulan.sk medyo di pantay yung foam sa isang side nung bago pero nung nilabhan ko di pansi masyado(ng-shrink yung foam) :D

bro, mag HJC symax ka n lng...meron kasi ko nbasa dito sa internet... ng experiment sila about sa lahat ng flip-up helmet...Halos Nanguguna sa tibay ung Shoie sunod ung Nolan...etc... second to the last un HJC helmet last ung ZEUS.. merong test na nguna din ung Syma...pero approved nman cla lhat...8,000 sa caloocan ung hjc symax ang 4,500 nman ung zeus...

IMO wag ka na mag flip up. go for the full face straight up!

I agree! If you have an extra budget, go for HJC Symax. I just had my Zeus508w for 5 days and one comment is the wind noise(80+Kph) pero tolerable pa din and slight water drips when raining. :drool:

IMHO, Zeus 508W is worth the price. P4500 for a modular helmet, WOW! :L I give this helmet an overall rating of 7.5/10 :cheers:

Pansin ko rin eh puro plain ang color ng mga Flip up modular helmet
na to, wala bang labas nito sa atin na may mga designs and drawings
na tulad sa mga CL-14 or mga INDEX helmets?

i agree.. malakas yung windnoise ng 508w.. gulat nga ko dahil hiniram ko lang sa father ko yun, sakin kasi ung AMMP na mumurahin around 600php lang(sana makabili rin ako kahit index man lang pag nakaipon :bouncy: ) and i found that the cheap helmet produced lesser windnoise.. of course, better parin yung 508w coz of the certs that it has.. but i have no plans of ever testing kung alin mas matibay hehehe.. anyway, whatever you choose, it's definitely much better than wearing no protection on your head at all! Ingat lang lagi! :cheers:

I have a ZEUS 508 for my everyday use, ang problem ko lang ay yung noise at yung mga screws sa sides, nalalaglag sila.

Go for the HJC-symax.. nakakadalawang 508w nako.. nakaka irita yung wind noise from 70kph ++, and yung dalawang screws dapat check mo pa lagi coz lumuluwag lagi.
