Bro,

I previously owned a Loncin Cyclone 200 before and I now ride a Z200. If I may humbly suggest, go for the z200. I need not elaborate why I changed to my latter bike but the performance of the Z200 is much better as well as the handling and after sales service.

Hello wonderloo;

Loncin-made bike similar to that of Motorstar's Z200 would be Cyclone200. The latter have two not so identical versions (externally that is): the 2nd & 3rd Generations. Though you'll find in various showrooms the 3rd Gen only, it being the latest version.

when the dealer's sales person said that china bikes are "pare-parehas lang", to some extent he was right. some bikes have really identical parts & the chinese assemblers just flood the markets with several brands.

having owned & riden the Z200 & c200, bigbird has given his opinion that z200 is the better bike if its "performance & after sales service" are to be considered.

may i suggest further that you read on the forums of all china branded bikes having the same 200cc street bike style & you'll get to know the particular problems owners are encountering. Case in point, c200 owners (me included) normally encounter strong vibrations on our bikes when in high RPM which sometimes causes the tachometer to malfunction. Fortunately, no reports on TIRIK as a result of this. a number of z200 owners have encountered gas tank leakage with their fuel. with the onset of the rains, some also encountered locking of their bike's rear brakes.

i'm personally grateful to mr. woolf for putting up forums like these where we can get & share infos regarding our bikes. so just read on & on so you'll find more infos about your prospected bikes. you're right asking the owners for opinions for sales agents will normally push their bikes instead of other brands.

ako nga was planning to get a z200 also but frankly the idea of "rear tire lock up" kind off turned me off. but coz of my stubborn nature, i'm still considering(my good friend Jhoelf kasi eh di pa C200 ang binili, hahaha!)

just an assurance however, any bike you may choose, you'll have a supportive community to welcome you. happy biking!

Thanks! Very well said! :)

Anyway, if any other owners there have any comments, please feel free.

Paki suggest na rin kung sino tumatanggap ng visa/mastercard :)

Thanks so much guys.

Parang mas maganda (looks) yung cyclone 200.

What are differences pa kya of the two bikes? hmmm...

hello again wonderloo;

other guys might think i'm biased if i say that z200 is better looking than that of c200 2nd gen...or c200 3rd gen is better looking than z200. but off course its my personal opinion. c200 2nd gen looks similar to z200 0n the rear side flarings but its frt & rear tires are narrower as compared to the wider tires of z200. z200 has a semi-bare look (part of its engine is exposed, a reason why some z200 owners are installing additional flarings to cover more of its engine) while the c200 has a covered engine. the c200 3rd gen stands tallest, however some z200 owners have adjusted their seats height by lifting its rear chassis. i love the looks of the rear end of the 3rd gen being wide & having that double-ring tail light. the 2nd gen & the z200 have a back view that's common design on scooters (refering to the rear fenders & tail lights). from the back, the 2 bikes looks ordinary & just like another scooter. the z200's rear disc brake is guapo (unfortunately notorious to lock-ups). the z200 side view or profile seems for me to be the best among the 3. in the end, beauty of these bikes rest on the beholder (& not that of the owner, hahaha). truly, lahat sila magaganda! in local lingo, "nakaka-inlove" (heard of stories wives getting jealous with their husbands passion for their bikes).

my avatar shows a c200 3rd gen on the foreground. you may find many z200 guys using their bikes as avatars also. so i suggest you decide for yourself which is the better looking bike for you being the beholder. :s

Galing ah! :)

Sa Cyclone 200, Hindi ko lang type yung parang chrome na plastic sa both sides nung flairing, yung pa aero dynamic effect. the one located sa side flairings just below the handles...

hello pranix;

thanks for posting the pictures of the c200 & z200.

the lower left most picture is the c200 2nd gen & the picture on its right is a c200 3rd gen with slight changes on its color scheme. i have no idea what the 1st gen looks like.

the right most picture of a cladded z200 with a different color scheme is interesting. just some modifications & change of color & viola!!! it transforms into a seemingly different bike. ayus ah. :s

one major difference between the two bikes is that the Z200 has:
-inverted forks
-dual front brakes
-rear disk brake
-fatter tires

hello again pranix;

truly there are several differences between the z200 & c200 & u have mentioned not only 1 but 4. here's some more:
------------------Z200_____________________c200
------------single exhaust pipe_________dual exhaust pipe
---front signal lights : toggle type_________in-bedded type
-------------semi-naked flarings____________full flarings
----seat height: lower than c200_________higher than z200
.............etc, etc, etc.

definitely there are many more we can add here. bottom line is : they both look. And when we finnaly ride them, these bikes even look better (hahaha). :s

oo nga... one day pag nabuo nyo na grupo nyo sa C200 it will be a sight to see both Z200 & C200 on a ride together...

dito naman sa cebu, haven't seen a single C200 bike in town.

sa Z200, at least apat na kami ang nag-meet :-)

Hi sis! yung C200 meron yatang hazard. I saw it from byker. Z200 wala, pero madali lang lagyan, punta ka sa tambayan & you can see some of Z2 owners na may hazard. :wave:

ALL THE TIME...GOD IS GOOD!

Welcome bro to Loncin thread. This is the 1st time i think you posted here.

the long run will definitely be fun but i really have apprehensions about it. First, i don't know yet the overall condition of my new 2nd hand bike. Second, i am not yet familiar with its handling as compared to my C200. Third & most importantly, I,m not sure if my back (more than my bike) can handle the stress a 6-8 hour of driving will bring (hahaha). God bless you, sis & the rest of the guys in this ride. Definitely i'l be joining you either in person or in prayers. :wave:

@ wonderloo: Regarding the "hazard Lights" of C200, its actually the effect when braking. both signal lights blinks for some seconds after stepping on the rear brakes.

Pansin ko, friends talaga mga Loncin at Motorstar ah, lalo na pag C200 and Z200 pinag-uusapan.

Sana welcome bike ko ah, kahit alien hehehehe.

Thanks sa sagot regarding the hazard. Palalagyan ko bike ko at yung additional rear lights para mas safe ako.

congrats to you for getting your new bike Xinyiang JM150. :cheers:

you are now officially married!...that is to your bike. JM stands for Just Married :R

JM150 looks similar to C200 2nd gen. Pogi pareho yan and the height is kinda same. samahan ka namin mag-break-in & help you get familiarize with your bike.

all the time, you're welcome to join the c200 group. i believe the z200 guys feel the same also. kung may mga iba ka pang makakasam, welcome din! :wave:

our symphaty to your twisted hand brake,

comes as part of learning to ride a bike are these type of scenarios:
-your engage in a tight turn, sa bagal kailangan mong itukod yung paa mo pero sa bigat di mo nakaya, ayun tumba
-yung just parked & the leg stands were not properly squared or were grounded on not so solid ground, ayun tumba
-you're about to ride your bike & lifted the stand of your bike, you pushed a little far off to the other side when you lifted the stand...you can't pull it towards you, ayun tumba
-you left your bike parked unattended, eh ang pogi ng bike mo, pinakealaman ng iba, ayun tumba
-etc., etc., etc, ayun tumba

even the best of them riders sometimes forget the basics kaya nag-kakaaksidente. call these incidents what you want but they teaches us a practical lesson : INGAT LAGI.

though we love our bikes, its better to break them than our leg & limbs.hehehe. you didn't mention any injuries except for your bike's so we presume you were not hurt. :banana:

yung c200 3rd gen mas makapal na yung tires compared sa c200 2nd gen.
yung avatar ko shows the tailights nung 3rd gen po.

nung first days na i got my bike (c200 po), i never really had hands on experience sa manual 5 speed byk. so aside from a weight factor...meron pa akong learning curve sa manual transmisssion...grabe ang pawis ko nun, 2hrs ko ata kinuha ang cubao from
caloocan hehehe

i cant even center stand the byke on my own, nagpapatulong pa ako sa gwardya. later, I found out na I should use my right
hand and right foot to stand the bike. pulling it on the rear step knot...

congrats and happy riding wonderloo!! be careful po next time, mejo mabigat na yan...

try nyo rin itong thread na ito: it has some comparative analysis of z200 and c200 :)
http://motorcyclephilippines.com/forums/showthread.php?p=215600#post215600

ps. i actually was going to buy the z200 at that time pero ang tagal bago magkastock (due to inverted forks at 3 wheel disc). tapos nakita ko yung 3rd gen....gwapo ng porma...ayun! binili ko na kinabukasan. di naman ako nagsisi sa pagkakabili ko.
to those planning to buy china bigbikes...good luck!!!

@pranix,

my avatar shows an original C200 3rd gen's side view minus the rear mudguard (w/c holds the plate number) located beneath the rear fender. unfortunately, i havent bought another digicam after i lost 1. i'll give you the run around view of a c200 when i finally get a new digicam. (maybe you can request imagepro who's hobby is photography & also owns a c200 3rd gen)though i also am fortunate to have a z200, i still believe the rear fender of the c200 is the better design but the side view of the z200, inspite its not having a full flaring, looks better except for its "toggle-type" front signal lights.

@trendy08,

galing ng concept mo sa avatar, i didn't realize its the c200's tail light until you mentioned it. medyo nabobo ako duon ah.

SUGGESTIONS: i will be toying with my Z200 but i won't touch the exterior of my c200. dami kong nabasa about z200 exterior modifications kaya it got me interested to do the same. sino ba magaling mag-edit ng pictures...can you try using the c200 fender on a z200 & post it here? my line is in automotive & also have some fiberglass modification capabilities. i may be able to add additional concepts to our bikes but don't want to spend too much on trial-&-error designs. if i see a concept & like it, i'll have it copied & those guys who wants the same can have it copied as well. truly the tailights & rear signal lights of the z200 can still be improve. parang big scut lang from behind ang z200. i still think an incorporated front signal light into the engine flares like that of the c200 is a better looking concept also. anong palagay nyo? flood me with designs & i'll create the finish products. :banana:

Bosing Newbie po ako! Ive got one pic of c200 attached. pki identify lng po kng 1st gent o 2nd gen ito (think this is not 3rd gen kc buo pa ung seat nya).

Frankly speaking i like the looks of this bike and hope to ride 1 s pag uwi since my desire for FXR 150 of Suzuki fades already (wla p daw s Pinas dinig lng po).

and hope my wife will not get mad of me kng mkksma ko ung C200 more than her hehehe.

I apprciate your feedback so as other Loncin riders (ur right sales agent always speaks negative of other brands and praises on theirs hehehe).

the picture you showed is that of the 2nd & 1/2 gen! its neither a 2nd gen or a 3rd gen! this must be some other variant which probably didn't come out locally.

the front fairings with it's chromed air vent & with attached side mirrors are the same as the 3rd gen but the rear fairing, the seats, perforated garnished mufflers & the thinner tires are just like that of the 2nd gen. :?

@sir Byker

Thank u sir for taking time to reply. Tama ka sir its not a local pics i believe its either from brazil or malaysia (d ko n sure) save pics ko lng yun sir.

Mas type ko kc ung mliit lng ang gulong sir at staright ang upuan like AR80 of Kawasaki (first choice), CBR 125 or 150 of Honda (expensive can't afford), FXR 150 of Suzuki (wla daw s pinas???) and kawasaki ninja 250 the biggest of its type n gus2 ko slightly used or new, again its commercial aspect pag bbli na.

For Loncin I think 3rd gen is medyo may klakihan. I saw replies n almost preho daw itsura ang c200 at z200 which I saw one ntong nkraang bksyon ko. Its pretty big for me i guess. I own Suzuki GSXR??? 400 b4. nabenta po ng mag abroad ako i like the handling pro mdyo mbgat dalhin. I'm not into speed sir, but into something sporty looks out there.

I really appreciate to keep in touch w/ u sir and for ur further advice. D man sguro ako mkkha ng C200 sna welcome prin po ako s club nyo since i learned a lot here.

Your advice spcially on the above mentioned types are graetlly appreciated.

Curious.

kumuha ka na lang ng 90's model ng bigbike 60-75k makakakuha ka sure ka pa na japan made ang makukuha mo surplus bike just be careful sa pagpili check mabuti tsaka ung right cc na para sa driving ability mo start muna sa low cc pataas

Hi there guys, I used to own a c200, well, if you guys are planning on getting a c200 here are some plus points; if you change the front sprocket to 16t, you'll enjoy the power when it comes to the first three gears, easy to reach 60-70 kph at 7000rpm, has better accelaration than z200. hazard lights will only activate when you initiate breaking( meaning it doesn't have a manual activation button hehe too bad! ). now for the bad points... compare to z200its much slower when you both hit the 4th and 5th gear..( ask broken arrow ) z200 is much stable than z200 because when you hit 7000rpm, c200 will vibrate like hell ( that's y i named my previously own c200 "baby devil" ). now for the similarities, for parts they have basically the same components and both are compatible with honda parts. hope this helps!!
